June Trip pros and cons

We’ve gone twice in June. The first year was hot but it rained off and on, cooling off everything and keeping it from being unbearable. Second time was this past June, I believe there was a heat wave, plus no rain the week we went. It was SO unrelentingly hot and humid. Honestly, it made it hard to enjoy the parks at all. We got chased to to pool everyday by the sun.

June is one and done for me. It's just too hot and humid for my taste. I stay away from the whole state in the summer. When I did June, I just did two theme parks and did water based activities all the other days (just way more pleasant to be in the water). It's a great time for the beach and waterparks. I personally don't like doing theme parks in that kind of weather. But perhaps I'm a hot weather weeny. There are plenty of other people who go and who are repeat visitors.

For me:
Pro: Even the ocean for a day trip (e.g. Clearwater beach) feels warm enough and the pool and waterparks are heavenly.
Con: I usually go to Orlando for the theme parks and I don't care to tour in theme parks with the typical heat and humidity that time of year. The crowds for theme parks are moderate, but if you don't even want to be there and just want to go in for AC or into the water that's not much of a saving grace for me. Sure you can bring a spray mist fan, take breaks, drink lots of water, use special towels to cool off, but even with all that I still don't like going to the theme parks in that weather.

I love going in June! Especially if you can make it within the first two weeks, since the crowds are lower and the temperatures aren't so bad. I thought going in April was so much worse but that was also spring break so I won't do that again! We've gone late June as well and that wasn't too bad either as long as you took mid-day breaks.

We have been a few times in mid-June, including 2019. Yes, it will be hot, but for me the heat is bearable. It's not like it sneaks up on you or anything. Everyone understands that it will be hot in Florida in the summer. We got lucky with the rain this year, only a couple of showers over our four park days. Crowds were reasonable. I got FPs for everything except SDD at 30 days before the trip, including a good selection of times for FOP. Snagged last minute lunch ADR for BOG. The only thing I truly disliked was the ridiculous stampede to ride SDD at park opening. I won't be doing that ever again. All in all, mid June is a fine time to go IMO.

Most of our trips to WDW In November and December . we went toWDW for a four day trip in June 2013 around the 21 st or so. The experience just wasn't the same during the summer because of the heat and the humidity. There were pop up showers but they didn't last long but it was just enough to ramp up the heat and humidity which was pretty sweltering and quite miserable at times. At about 2 pm everyday I would just look around and everyone would just have this sad troubled exhausted disbelief on their faces. Maybe it was hotter than normal for that week in June but I am not sure since it's the only summer trip we have taken. If parks are doing morning EEMH hours it could help because from about 11 am to 9 pm each day the heat was the warmest - even 7 pm is unbelievably uot, Doing parks from 6 am to 10 am or from 9 pm to 1am am would be better. And the parks are very enjoyable in Dark. During our trip it was crowded but manageable. It was in no way empty. During regular park hours, We utilized fast passes and rope drop since EEMH didn't exist then. The only way I would ever consider going again in the summer is if I stayed onsite and EEMH and after hours were available where we could stay up all night and sleep all day because I can't rationalize spending the amount of money that it costs for a trip to be in that heat again. it was truly to hot to enjoy if u are going for the thene parks and i think WDW is the happiest olace on earth. we are also from georgia so we are used to humidity. just my imho.

I have to say I find that a bit strange. You can't stand the heat, but say August is more bearable than June. August is a hotter and more humid month than June. They're both hot, so we're splitting hairs, but technically speaking August is worse.
i really think it dpends on what year you go. Around June 21st or so 2013 was so hot and humid i could barely stand it. i mean it was hard to breathe . you could see how miserably hot and redfaced everyone was each afternoon in the theme parks. it wouldn't cool off to around 9 pm each night. i was surprised at the heat and i am from georgia so am used to humid weather. i think this is why parks are starting to offer Eemh and after dark tickets and reduce prices iof afternoon tickets. august in georgia is usually the hottest but that june 2013 trip was insanely hot.

just to add to my posr. the main con of going in june is the heat and humidity. the truth is weather is unpredictable and varies greatly from year to year, i have been in November where the lows were in the 30s and highs were in the upoer sixties and been rhe week after Christmas when the highs were in mid eighties and lows in the 60s. the main difference is lack of humidity in winter months. i am very sensitive to humidity so i choose not to go then. i have to watch weather forcast closely inorder to know what to pack because it can vary so much during fall and winter. summer will be hot and most likely wet. - how hot tbd..

Well, sure you can be there during an uncommon heat wave. That can happen anytime. You can also be there during a cold snap. We've been there during Xmas when it was 84 degrees (it was a record high for that day, or close to it) and were also there when it was 55 at the high (miserable, IMO). However, generally speaking, June is not as hot or humid as August.

I also live in Georgia. It depends on tolerance to heat and subjective opinion of it. To me, unless you've got a medical issue it's hyperbole to say it's actually hard to breathe. It's not. Oppressive and hot, sure, but actually difficult to breathe, no.

We go every June. It's hot and moderately crowded. Plus June is Florida's rainiest month. We don't really care about the rain as far as parks go, but it does put a damper on waterpark days. Regarding heat and crowds, they are are still reasonably manageable if you know how to tour, when to break, and tips to stay cool and hydrated. June is fun! :cool2:

The difference as I said is the breeze. August begins hurricane season and it is noticeably breezier than June from my experiences doing both. Just my experience. Might not be yours.
It's definitely not my experience, and I live on the gulf coast. August is WAY worse than June on average here. You likely just got lucky with your August trip. August in the deep south is habitually still and hot. It's called the Dog Days for a reason, even the dogs go hide in the shade.
