My family is taking a trip to WDW at end of Sept. We have been to WDW many times in Sept so are used to the heat/humidity and low crowds. My husband has a convention the week of June 7-14 in a small beach town by Jacksonville (Ponte Verde?) and he was thinking that I might fly down too and we'd go the 2.5 hour drive to WDW for 2-3 days that week or weekend. We've never been to WDW in June - can someone help us with weather and crowd info during that timing (June 7-14). Or should we just stay up in the Jacksonville area and hang out there!? Thanks Jo

From what I have read, the weekend of the 12th is Orlando Gay Days and Sunday the 13th is MK day so it will probably be very crowded.

Back in 2000 we went right around that same week for my daughter's birthday. I remember the weather being nice, not too hot and I don't remember getting a lot of rain-just some nice cooling showers here and there.

Gay Days is June 1-7 this year. It's usually scheduled around the first weekend in June. My family chose to wait till the 12th.

We've found June to USUALLY be a bit cooler than September.
It'll probably be a bit more crowded because most schools are out in June.

We're arriving June 6th........just as Gay Days are ending. Whew! ("Not that there's anything wrong with that" to quote Jerry Seinfeld. :teeth: ) June 5th is Gay Day at the Magic Kingdom/Outer Rim Bar/Tambu Lounge this year.

We found June of 2003 (1st week) to be pretty hot and humid (I think I heard, though, that it was unseasonably warm). Crowds were what I would guess are moderate - not wall to wall, but by afternoon it got pretty busy. DO NOT worry about Gay Days - we were there the entire time this was going on, no problems whatsoever. Hope that helps!

Those are the exact dates we went in 2002!!! Crowds grew by the 11/12th but we had a very, VERY wet week. My understanding is that the next week was even wetter. It went from 98* heat to torrential downpours that lasted hours not the typical Florida 40 minute shower. After our experience we decided June was not in our Disney vacation futures. That said, if you are already in Florida anyway, I'd rather be in WDW with rain than anywhere else with rain, lol.

Have a great time.

Summer IS the rainy season in Central Florida. I've been there in June, July AND August (not to mention about 4 other months). Not much difference in the 3 - depending on the year. Liquid Sunshine. If you "melt" in rain, pick another season to visit! As REO says, we just "Roll With The Changes".

we've been in june several times and will be there again this year from the 8th to the 24th....june is hot and humid in florida; period....afternoon showers are to be expected; but, as others have said, we don't let it bother us one bit....gays days are always the first week in june, so, you don't have that going on to influence crowds that week, but, disney is crowded during the second week in june....and gets more crowded as the the month goes on as more and more schools are out for the summer...I would rather go in may like we used to, but, with dw being a school teacher; that's not in the cards for us anymore...

This will be our third trip in early June (we will be there the 6th-13th) and we have found the weather and the crowds very manageable. It does rain about 15-20 minutes every day but the sun usually comes right back out. Gay Day at MK is the first Saturday in June - since large crowds are expected in that park, the other parks usually open an hour earlier. The only time we encountered big crowds were at MK last year on the nights that SM/FITS were scheduled.

There is more to do in June.:D The parks stay open later and the parks are beautiful at night!
and after this winter bring on that Fla. sunshine.:sunny:

WE have been just about every year for the last 12 years around the first two weeks of June. My experience has been pretty much what everyone else has said. 1) It is hot and a few years it has been very hot but it usually is not a big problem for me and my son but my wife struggles with it sometimes. 2) Do not be surprised my showers. Usually they are just short afternoon showers only once did we have rain for several days all day. 3) The crowds are usually not bad the first two weeks with them starting to pick up the second week. Only once were we there part of the third week and I thought it was alot more crowded then the first two weeks of June. 4) Does not look like it will affect you but we have never had any problems being there during the gay days. The only exception was on the designated gay day at MK which is usually the first Saturday in June. For us the problem then was the crowds- they were just unreal. You could barely get around the park and you could not even think about getting on a ride. That was the only time we ever left a park due to the crowds. I have never been any other time but from what I read and hear other people takl about it seems like this is not a bad time to go if you are going to go in the summer.
