Which would be a better time of year to go-third week in June or second week in August. Which week do you think would have thinner crowds. Unfortunately, I know these are busiest times but I'm trying to narrow down which week might be better. Thanks for your help!

I am interested too. We have the choice of July After the holiday or August. The Unofficial guide lists crowd levels as an 8. But it also listed crowd levels as a 4 when we went in April and it was PACKED!!

I have never been in June so I can only say for August. We have been the second week in August in 2004, 2002 and 1999. The crowds are big, but I understand that the second week is the first week back to school for FL and many southern schools so this is where the crowds will begin to start to get smaller. Still pretty crowded though.

Has anyone else been to Disney in June and August that could give me a better idea as to which month would be more tolerable as far as crowds are concerned. Thank you.

Neither would be great. In june, the parks start to get crowded with families that arrive after school gets out. The closer to the end of May and Memorial Day, the better here.

In August, the crowds don't die down until the 3rd week or so, bacause the schools in the South start then. The closer to Labor Day, and not including that weekend, the better.

We've been going in June for a while and decided next year to try August after the Florida schools start back up. This year the Orlando (Orange County) start on August 8th and next year on the 7th. Both months are hot and humid, so it doesn't really matter to us weather wise, other than the hurricane season... :sad2:

I have been in August 2x and June once....and I think August is better.
weather is about the same, both hot and humid..

but I think crowds were much lighter in August.

although I went this past June and it was celebration time so don't know whether to factor that in or not.

but I still say my vote is August

NOT June. Two words for ya...clapping Brazilians.
What? A soccer match? O-le ole ole ole!

Actually, I get nostalgic seeing the Brazilians. As a kid, I'd go to Disney with my dad, who grew up in Brazil. One time a couple of kids (teens) from one of the tour groups were trying to cut the line and they made a couple of rude comments to each other, laughing and just being obnoxious. Not necessarily any more than any other teenagers, American or whatever, but my dad was just tired and aggravated from the July heat... so my dad read them the riot act in Portuguese and told them to mind their manners. They were totally shocked, especially since my dad is the kid of Ukrainian immigrants and does not strike anyone as Brazilian with his blond hair and baby blues!

I can't stress this enough. GO IN AUGUST!!!

I've been at both the times you are asking about exactly. The schools in the south go back to school either the first or second week of August. So if you might be able to swing the third week its even better. IMO it was much less crowded in August. And i also thought the weather was better. It rained every day in August, but that scared off wussy park goers, and only lasted an hour tops. I really think those cooling rainshowers helped break up the heat.

You can have a great time either way, but I really prefer August!
