I *officially* suck at this!

It's not my fault, it's those enablers here on the board talking about Christmas and back to school, and those evil temptresses at the thrift shop!!
The other day, a catalog I love sent an email that they're having a huge clearance, and I was able to pick up a bunch (like seven) of gifts for $70 shipped that I'm planning to squirrel away for Christmas... I usually Christmas shop all year long, but we had a medical situation for the entire first quarter of this year, so I'm feeling behind... I also saw a good idea in that catalogue that I wanted to copy, so that led me to Dollar Tree and JoAnn's... and while the result was a beautiful Christmas gift for my niece, it's still spending either way...
SO... slippery slope... yesterday I thought "hey, it's 1/2 price day at Salvation Army and I have a little time..." meanwhile DD8 wants to do hair-wraps and I have no embroidery floss, so I check SA (no luck, but $17 on other things that will go into the holiday closet) and then I check the thrift shop here on the base... no floss, but 1/2 price clothes, so I picked up 3 shirts from Justice plus one pair of Justice pants (DD8 and DN9 are Justice-crazy), plus a sundress for DD5 and a Princess Jasmine cup for $5.50, and the cashier mentions that tomorrow (today) is bag day...
So that's another $6 today, plus $2 for snacks... we had our workout outside this morning, an hour in 90 degree full sun... I'm rocking the gatorade and was craving salt... on the upside, I'm wayyyy too sick from the heat today to go out to eat!
On the one hand, I'm started for Christmas, with many gifts, gift wrappers (I like to use reusuable wrapping like tins, purses, and pretty blankets,) and gift-starters to show for the $100-or-so I've spent... I added two shirts to my niece's back-to-school bag, and today at the bag sale, I got all sorts of things... two suits for me, scrubs for my Mom, a pillow pet for DD5, plastic easter eggs, a christmas cookie plate, valentine's day cups... all sorts of things that go into my "holiday closet" and will save me money later when I don't have to buy them full price...
I'm great at getting more for my money... but I *suck* at not spending it in the first place. Even if I just look at the "eating out" portion, I've been so busy that I've been cheating...it's a big curve for me...
I hope I'm as good as you guys some day.
