June MK hours change

Will there be further changes? Or is my 6/19 8:00 AM CP safe because it is showing 9:00 AM MK opening?

My BOG dates for 6/15 and 6/22 are no longer prepark opening. And those were the ADRs we were most excited about. I might keep one of them just because there doesn't seem to be any other ADRs available for BOG.

Bummed for sure, but something will work out!!

As a heads up: I was checking park hours for the week we are going to be at Disney - 6/6-6/13 and saw that the hours have changed for MK for several days that week. Several days are now showing an 8am opening and 1am closing time. I didn't check any other weeks in June. Just wanted to FYI for the pre-park opening ressie people. Luckily our BOG breakfast day hasn't changed yet and is still a 9am opening. I hope our luck holds out.

We're disappointed too, those adr's were not easy to get. On the bright side, they're opening earlier and in June, that's a good thing. I'm still holding out hope they'll open BOG at 7:30 those days- even though it wouldn't be quite early enough to beat the rope drop crowd, it would get us in the park while it's virtually empty and very close to where we want to be after breakfast. I have read where they did open earlier- so may it will happen!

We are probably going to cancel our 8:20 BOG on June 9th. For 11 people. Just can't justify paying all that extra money when it is not going to be pre-park opening.

I know this is a total fantasy, but wouldn't it be nice if Disney e-mailed all of the pre-park opening reservations and informed them of the change and offered to change their reservation to an earlier time ( if BOG, CRT, and CP were going to open earlier) ? I don't think it would require much effort on Disney's part and it would be greatly appreciated by these guests.

IMO if the restaurants open earlier, the people that had the earliest reservation times should have first crack at these slots.

I agree with that. It really would be unprecedented though. I understand there are some reasons people are hopeful. But Disney has never added more restaurant hours in the morning when they change park opening.

Our park opening time changed, but thankfully it didn't affect us since we aren't going in until around 1.

I understand it's good that Disney adds extra hours sometimes. But I still wish that they were less "fluid" in their approach to things when people have to plan their ADRs and FPs so far out.

Thanks for the heads up, we'll be there that same week. Luckily these changes don't effect our breakfast ADRs.

Yup- we said when we made the reservations that we knew up front they could and probably would change the hours.

While we're missing the pre-opening entry, it does add another hour to the morning lull. A lot of people just won't drag out that early so should make for easy riding!

There was a post from someone ( wish I'd saved it, but I didn't and it's tough locating it) where they said BOG changed to a 7:30 opening. Honestly, I am not at all firm on when this happened- but I think it was March..maybe. I didn't pay a lot of attention to detail. This isn't something that I'm hanging my hat on, but I will keep an eye on the opening hours just in case.

BOG is open for breakfast at 7:30 now through April 10, but this seems to be because the park opens at 8 with EMH starting at 7am. Normal opening time for BOG is 8am, though.

Ugh, so aggravating. I'm in the same boat with everyone who wanted to get into MK before park opening. I was surprised to see that hours on a Monday changed to 8 am. I've been tracking the weekends and it seems Saturday almost always changes to 8 am but not Sunday.

From 3/29 to 4/10, BOG is now serving breakfast starting at 7:30!!!! All other days appear to still be starting at 8am. There is currently availability for these times on the website and app.

But here's the catch that makes me think they probably won't do it this time...

I hope you realized that MK has an early EMH on these days that opens the park at 7:00 a.m., so breakfast at 7:30 will be during OPEN hours.

But since Disney has changed the restaurant opening before, it's enough for me to pop over once a day and see if they'll do it again.

And while I'm not including the links for this- it does seem CP does changes hours now and then and opens before 8 on an 8am park opening. There are several reports of getting 7:20-7:30 adrs for an 8am park opening. As I said, enough precedent that I'm willing to keep an eye on it.

Still very odd about the hours in MDE though and I did have the CM and 2 supervisors buzzing about it yesterday. They couldn't have been nicer, but wow, they were really concerned about those hours showing like that. lol

I really don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but I am just curious, why are so many people here on DIS so animate about being at MK at RD, especially when the park is open until 2:00am!!!

Because we want to walk down main street with no crowds, enjoy the freedom and know that at RD we will already be inside the park. I know that I would definitely pay extra for that privilege. I have no interest in the meal itself.

So based on the fantasy remark, you don't think people with 8 am reservations should get first crack at earlier times if the restaurants do open earlier?
