June MK hours change

Will there be further changes? Or is my 6/19 8:00 AM CP safe because it is showing 9:00 AM MK opening?

My BOG dates for 6/15 and 6/22 are no longer prepark opening. And those were the ADRs we were most excited about. I might keep one of them just because there doesn't seem to be any other ADRs available for BOG.

Bummed for sure, but something will work out!!

We just made an 8:10 am BOG ADR for 6-19 if you wanted to change from CP.

Because we want to walk down main street with no crowds, enjoy the freedom and know that at RD we will already be inside the park. I know that I would definitely pay extra for that privilege. I have no interest in the meal itself.

This is one of the reasons we are still considering keeping our 8am adr. The question is, when they have an 8am opening, will guests with an 8am adr still be given early entry? And if so, how early would they let them in? I'm reading differing results with some people being let in early enough to at least enjoy walking down Main St uncrowded- others say they don't give them much, if any time at all. So we may just keep it a while and see if other people can share their experience with this.

The meal is secondary to us as well. I don't even want to think about food at that hour- I'd be stuffing muffins in my pocket for a snack later. lol

dang it... hours changed for the next week also. I have a ADR for 8:15 on the 17th and a 8:00 on the 18th. I was leaning towards the 17th because the park was suppose to open at 9. on the 18th they have EMH to open at 8:00.

Soooooo they are opening up earlier in the summer... yet restricting access to the monorail for these early morning hours. Make sense......

this is sad to read and after checking makes it that much more sad. Like everyone else we have been planning our trip for 2 years. Took on 2nd job to pay for the trip for our sons 5th birthday. On 180 days out we booked all ADR's like everyone else. June 4th is his bday wanted to make his 1st trip to walt Disney walking down mainstreet with little to no people so got a ADR at C.P. for 8am then they did EMH that day for 8am. Ugggh. Then on our last day since our flight isn't leaving time dinner time I booked CRT for 8am to get us to walk down main street one last time with little to no people and then I find out that they changed the morning hours on that day as well to open at 8am.... UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH all this planning all this hoping to get what u want and then you get it then plans are all messed up cause they change the hours.
Ok now my question is this if park opens at 8am and we have ADR's for 8am how early are we allowed into the park to get to r ADR.
Thanks
Jay

Hopefully this thread won't head where most others do when something like this happens and those affected will be able to discuss this without being told how awful Disney is- that's my fantasy.

At any rate, I also thought hours never changed but when I searched the boards on the subject I found a thread where someone said it had happened - as I recall it was this last March. Doesn't mean it will this time but it's certainly not unprecedented.
Disney changes hours all. the. time.

I have no personal experience but since I have the same question, I've been looking into what people on the boards say and it seems to vary with the most common response being that if you have an 8 or 8:05 adr, they let you in 15-20 minutes early. That's enough time to at least enjoy the emptiness of the park. If you pre-order breakfast, I'm expecting we could be out as early as 8:30. For us with a little one, that's as fast as we could do it.

The good thing is that the crowds at the restaurant should be much lighter when you arrive. Lots of people say that with an 8am adr and a 9am park opening, they let anyone with an adr of 8:15 or so in at the same time as the 8's- and that they'll seat those people immediately. Meaning that just because you have an 8adr, it doesn't mean an 8:15 won't seat before you.

With an 8am opening, it would appear that if your adr is past 8:05, they do not let you in earlier- translation-fewer people at the restaurant at 8.

This all comes with the warning that there have been posts by people saying they were not let in early at all- but those are very limited.

That probably confused you if you hadn't been reading along. I'm so sorry. I was speaking about restaurant hours and Mom2rtk was saying that they never do change restaurant hours. I know to expect that park hours change all. the. time. :) I've been going long enough to have learned that long ago.

Or perhaps I'm misunderstanding you and you're saying that they change BOG opening times all the time????

If you had reservations at 8 am and the park opened at 8 am, they would have let you in a little early to make your reservation in time. That would have put you in front of the big crowd. My guess is they will let you in at least at 7:45 am possible 7:30 am. IF you don't get in the park until 8 am you have technically missed your reservation time.

I'm holding out hope that they will change again. When I originally made my 2nd ADR for BOG (the 8:15 one) the hours changed to opening at 8 am and then after a bit they changed back to 9.

I have officially committed to the 8:15 ADR and cancelled the one for the next day because I forgot I also scheduled a dinner at Kona that evening and that wasn't available the next day. I also do not want to go to MK during an EHM hour day....

*fingers crossed* :D

This is what we're thinking too. If our goal is just to enjoy the experience of walking down Main St, the change in parks hours will not prevent that. It does take away the advantage for being first in line to ride...although we have enough fp+'s scheduled that the ADR was just going to give us bonus time.

That's what I'm thinking as well... if you have a reservation up until 8:30 (or maybe 8:15-8:20) they should let you in early since technically you're suppose to be there 15 min before hand. Now I've read that doesn't happen of course, and people are saying even if you have a 8:00 ADR you don't get in early if they open at 8.

Question... from what I've read... for people who have an pre-opening ADR you get your reservation checked and then get into the line for early ADRS. Does no one check your reservation time after the first initial person? I'm just wondering what stops someone who maybe has a 8:15 ADR for 8:00 opening being told "no" about getting in early and getting into the ADR line anyways?

I think it means WDW changes all hours all the time. One year, I made a copy of the parade times before I left home, one day later at MK I was waiting for a parade that wasn't coming!

That's what I think too, so she was probably just confused about which hours I was talking about. I do think changing restaurant opening hours is very rare. I'm hoping, but not at all expecting, that they do it this time. Of course, keep in mind I am positively dripping in pre-trip pixie dust-pixiedust:- perhaps making me unreasonably hopeful and happy.

30 days! Yay!! :)

I was reading along and wasn't confused. Your post was unclear. Glad you clarified.

We just made an 8:10 am BOG ADR for 6-19 if you wanted to change from CP.

Wow! i just snagged that ADR for 6/19! Happy Birthday BOG breakfast to me!! Thank you so much!! See you there!!

I just released CP at 8:05 for 6/19 in the process. Park still opens at 9 on that day so still before RD! Hope someone here picks it up!

I would hope they would let 8 am ressie people in at around 730 for MK as you will have the opening show at 745. that will make getting on to Main Street harder with the people stopped watching the show unless they rope off a walking path

We had an 8:05 at CRT on a day MK changed its opening to 8:00. We were NOT let in early (despite asking) and we had to RUN to the restaurant. I was sad that the change prevented a pre-opening castle pic, but that day turned out to be so foggy you couldn't see the castle!

That's what I would worry about with reservations that are after park opening- no matter how close to
opening that is. I don't see how 8am adrs would not be let in but, since that's park opening I suppose they could refuse to let you in as there is a grace period for being late to an adr.

It's sounding a bit to iffy to me. We'll most likely cancel.
