Tomar: Thanks for asking. The girls are doing much better. Back to school today. Everything was as it should be.

The cold weather coming is scaring me. I get most worried for the kids at the bus stops. Just too cold to send them out there.

EE22 and MKY: You guys are more used to this but I have no idea how you deal with it for so long every winter. DD4 keeps asking is summer is tomorrow. They know a trip is in the horizon but have no confirmation. All our vacations are in the summer so summer for them means fun. We are still a long way off though.

Hi Everyone

MKY - you got more snow than we did I think. It took a long time to get home from the airport because the highways in Michigan were so slippery. We have another storm coming tonight and a deep freeze by the middle of the week....I need a thermometer in the house so I can convert Celcius readings to Fehrenheit for you guys.

But if the snow stays and the weather isn't too cold, I would love to get out and play in the snow before it melts. I have an old farm recipe for snow taffy but you need enough snow to be able to collect "clean" snow now adays. But it is fun to make and so sweet that you only need a couple of pieces.

I sent the photopass to everyone I think...let me know if you didn't get it.

Work was a nightmare today. Three weeks off and I think I needed to be retrained.

They have decided to close one of the other plants our company operates, it it is sad since I have worked with them for the past 18 years and I feel horrible for them. Plus they let a handful of executives go as well. At least they are doing what is needed to keep the company financially viable and that is a good thing.

No new trips planned after the cruise in March and I am going to have to hold off for a bit to see what happens in the next few months.

Candi...thanks for the pics. They look great. How long was the wait for Tink? DL11 said we'd do it this summer. Too many people there when we were there.

Tomar and TP2...stay warm. The cold is coming. We are to have temps of -15 to -18 by the end of the week.

Ive been keeping vigil every day with the airline situation. ..no changes No award travel available for our time frame..unless your using MEGA award miles ....this may be the Big snafu in my planning this year !!
Im trying to be patient and wait until one of the airlines lowers thier prices...that would probably cause a ripple effect for ALL the airlines to do as well !...I hope !!

Feeling sooooooooooooooo much better! Seems like pretty much almost completely back to normal. Just really tired. & NO abdominal pain! Yeah!

EE22, We added anther 6 inches last nite & more tonight? Its a whooping 6 here right now. At least I am not near any sweeping plains with high winds at present, like Iowa. Good luck with finals.

Candi, what a wonderful family. Great pictures. Sorry about work. Sounds really depressing. So much of that going on now.

Tomar, Let Mr. Tomar know that > sun is not good for you and he should be wearing a 45 sunscreen. I sure he is going to listen to me.

TP2, I don't think we are much more north than you? Doesn't it get that cold on the coast? Can you guys swim in the ocean in summer there? Lake Michigan is a toasty 45 degrees in mid august. The smaller lakes around here and wisconsin are ok & get warm > but lake michigan does not.

So, who wants to rent rooms for the Olympic's once chicago gets them 2016? I plan to be out of town > WDW? Also offering > limo rides in my VW bug back and forth. Think our new criminal governor situation is gonna put the caboush on this? Hmmmmmmm, So far the Illinois house has voted to impeach. See what our senate does now.

I got my Disney DVD 09' today! But watching ncis at present.

Hi everyone.

Thanks for all the nice things about the photos. I hate my hair in any I am in. My hair gets really curly when I go down to Florida and I am trying to grow the bangs out (hairdressers idea, not mine) but they look out of control in a lot of the pictures.

I have attached a link about the plant closing. It appeared in the London Ontario news paper today. That is about 2 hours drive from here.

But they let me go to work today and they are even going to pay me for it. I am trying to stay positive as the massive wave of work will begin shortly with no sign of any extra help I am sure...but I think it will be good news for our plant in the end.

I will get out my Disney planning stuff and think happy thoughts.....only 57 days till my cruise, that I will have to keep secret so they don't linch me in the parking lot...

I know the south isn't use to those temps, but we are not use to lows in the double digits below zero either. It's been a long time since we had a low of -20 I just hope there is no wind.

I have no idea how much snow we had over night. It was 6 inches around 9 pm and it kept snowing

MKY: So happy you are feeling better.

Tomar: To funny about Mr. Tomar! Your DH and my DH should get together. Before we went to Florida, about 3 years ago, he ran to the dermatologist because of something on his face. Doc said, just aging but stay out of the sun. You have a lot of damage and some of the spots could become cancerous. So I go out and buy 50 sunblock and a big Australian hat with the rim all the way around. What does he do? Makes me return the hat and walks around with no sunblock at all. I feel your pain.

Finally got the lights off, now they are a frozen blob on my front porch but better than on the house. Maybe I can move them to the garage.

Candi: Sorry about work. I have to keep my mouth shut too. With DH being a teacher, we are never rich but this does not affect us too much. A bit, but nothing like what others are going through. I kind of forgot that and at Christmas I was talking to some of the wealthier people in the family and they were really complaining about how they are going to have to sell one of their houses because the rental income is not what it used to be or how they have to downgrade their boat. I started to laugh because I could not believe they were serious. I really thought they were being sarcastic. Well, lets just say that did not go over well either.

EE22: I could not stand to live there. I watched a news clip yesterday about 0 degree temperatures. They wanted to know how long a person could survive outside in those temps and they basically said, they can't. Almost right away the extremities begin getting frost bite. Make sure everything on you is covered. We are at 17 degrees today and my kids had hats, scarves, gloves. Will they cancel any more school this week?

akayek31: I live in NY and everyone keeps saying that they are going to Florida to get away from this cold but even in Florida it has been cold. There is just no escaping it.

Just read this article. So sorry about work. My brother works for one of the big 3 and two of my cousins. It's very bad. We all wonder if anyone will be left in Michigan when things are all said and done.

EE22, thanks alot. We got pounded all nite and all day till after 1pm finally stopped. We then got sunshine & a whooping 11! Back to zero now. We are running out of places for this snow. We are walking in paths we plowed but it looks like a secret walkway. Vader doesn't want to go out. As big as he is > his legs are covered all the way to his belly. is now 90# and taller than me on his back feet.

WooHoo, Candi, we must be going the same weekend? I see my counter is down to 1 month and 3 weeks..... > or 50 some days. We are flying down on March 12. You? Hang in there work is so sad. Hang in there.

Tomar, I don't believe you. Mr. Tomar I am sure, listens and obey's every wish of Mrs. Tomar? I liked his frogs. That was our favorite pool at SSR.

TP2, Tell Mr. TP2 to be careful. Bug, has had several skin biopsy's too. You never now. He must be fair too. The lighter you are or blue / green eyes > are more prone to skin problems with sun. Good news for Mr. Tomar.
For some reason my baby sister, doesn't look like the rest of us. We are all greek in appearance, yet bug looks and takes after a recessive gene pool on my mom's side. Bug is definately eastern european? blondish, blue eyes, tall, large bones, big feet. That ain't dad.

Hey MKY: You hit the nail right on the head with Mr. TP2. Blue eyes. DD10 has red hair and freckles, know where that came from?

So in this deep cold, know what I made for dinner? I BBQ'ed burgers. I have no idea of what got into me. DH got home and asked where I was cooking them. He then put on his ski jacket and did the grillen.

Tomar: Totally agree about the Disney site. Total mess. You can not get any info off of it. I was trying to get resort prices and figure pricing on dining plan. Kept timing out and kicking me off. I have also tried calling and got disconnected on two different days. Never got to speak with anyone. All I know is that it can't be too good for business.
