Thanks everyone for the well wishes.:grouphug: They are actually doing fine, just covered in itchy, red spots.:rotfl: They are running around, eating. Not doing too much sleeping or resting at all.:headache: Just waiting on DD4 to get the pox. With my luck she won't get them until August right before our trip.:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

My nephew also has them. Waiting on 2 more kids and then everyone will be infected.:lmao:

MKY: I sincerely hope you are feeling well.:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

:wizard: Evening everyone, thanks, feeling a little better tonight. At least walking straighter.:thumbsup2

TP2, They where probably all exposed togther, so they should break out togther. Otherwise you can break out up to 3 weeks from exposure.

Have I told you my chx pox wdw story? Bug, says to me in line at space mt. "this poor teenager, has the worse acne behind us" I turn around, and saw this poor guy in a sweat suit head to toe [with hoody up] and a mean case of chx pox. I told her, that ain't acne, ;) the mom said, thanks "we got here and he broke out". I feel for her, but in august, this kid is dying. and they just exposed half of the world.:confused3 You never know what might happen at wdw.:rolleyes1

mky:scared1: adults that get it can get really sick!!!

mky:scared1: adults that get it can get really sick!!!

Absolutely! And a little known fact: You can get them more than once, if you've had an extremely mild case. Bug did. My mom called the md, and said she has pox and she had it 2 years ago? He said no, that is very rare: Bring her in, >> she did and he said "get her out of here, she has chx pox, again".:rotfl:

mky:cutie:

MKY: I think I do remember that story but totally forgot about it.:rotfl: I will tell you something. If I were not looking for it, I would have thought nothing of the "mosquito bite" on DD10's side yesterday. I would have thought it strange but never would have thought it to be Chickenpox. As for that mom though, I would not bring my child out like that. First of all, your skin is so much more sensitive, imagine the sun burn. I doubt they put sunblock on. Not to mention contaminating everyone around them. That makes me crazy. Same reason that stomach virus was so bad there this winter. I was reading reports of people being so sick but they still managed to drag themselves through the parks.:confused3 STAY HOME!!!!:rotfl:

I am glad to hear you are feeling a bit better today. Keep resting and taking the anitibiotics.

EE22: Just got off the phone with the mom that started the infection. Her doctor gave her that medicine you were talking about, Acyclozir. She said it was given for her son as a precaution because her daughter was so sick. We are not too sick which is probably why it was not given.

DD8 is making me crazy. She is so itchy but does not want calamine lotion because it is cold and an oatmeal bath is gross!:headache:

So far DD4 is clean which I am sure is a bad sign and not a good one. I am sure she will wind up breaking out once they go back to school.:sad2:

Hiya everyone,:wizard:

TP2, Your probably right about your little one, she will break out in 12 days to 21 days. Sorry. Acyclozir [also called ZOVIRAX] = is an antiviral. Similiar to strong antibiotic's for viral things. They use it for herpes too. If you get a bad cold sore it comes in a little lip type tube. [in small doses], For serious Shingella's or systemic herpe infections can be given IV or oral. I have never used it at work, with any of our chicken pox kids.

Feeling better off and on here. This is a slow process / recovery. I want to be cured in a half hour.

Snowing here, and cold. Seems like I am not missing much. This was probably EE22's ice storm.

Hiiiiiii everyone!

We just booked our family trip! We'll be at Pop from Aug 23-29th! (Thanks to the awesome Military deal!!)

Now, I've been the week leading up to Labor Day back in 2006 and the crowds were really low.

Has anyone been the week BEFORE that? (2 weeks before Labor Day) How were the crowds?

We're so excited!!

Welcome, and happy planning, It used to be a great time to go. But if they do free dining, be prepared for a crowd. I am skipping august cause of it. We used to really like these 2 weeks.

Hi Everyone::flower3:

MKY: How are you feeling? Hopefully better.

The girls are pretty itchy today and still nothing for DD4.:sad2: I know she will break out in 2 weeks, once the other 2 are back in school and life is back to normal. How mild was your sisters case? I would hate for them to go through this again. They each have about 50 pox so I would assume it is only less because of the vaccine. At least I hope so.

Hope everyone is staying healthy.

TP2- One of my boys had a mild case and the other one had a very bad case of the CP...the one that had a mild case has never had a recurance.....but....the Doctor said to me...when I got the shingles...that is the drawback of getting a mild case of the chicken pox.....(your more suseptable to getting the shingles later on in life)...and THAT is no fun at all I tell ya !! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
You pretty know what to expect already from DD4.....if it happens at all....I was told....3 days to come out ....3 days to stay....3 days to go away.....
Correct me if Im wrong here MKY !! ;)

Hi Tomar: So DD10 started Monday morning and as of this morning still had new ones coming. Should today be the last day of new spots? They are starting to lose it. It is one thing for the ones they have to be itchy but to still be getting new ones is making them crazy. I hope you are right because then tomorrow should be the turning point for us. Doctor said expect 1 full week of no school. They are complaining of some of the spots burning. I have to assume that is when they start to scab over. At least they are able to sleep at night. I think the worst is when the kids get sick AND don't sleep. Not fun for anyone. Thanks for all the advice. They took an oatmeal bath today and they are covered in Calamine lotion. I have not been out so could not get the Aveeno but if they are still complaining tomorrow I may head out after DH gets home from work. Had the oatmeal from a bad case of poisen ivy.:scared: Don't want that again.

Hi TP2-
If I remember correctly....it`s the way I said...yes ....3 days to come out...3 days to stay and 3 days to go away ....that`s long enough :scared:
I think that the Aveno bath is very soothing....if you have a chance ....mabe yu could try it !:flower3:
Praying for the girls to go through this with little discomfort...and Im praying for you too TP2 !! :flower3:

Hi Tomar:

Yes.....it was terrible.:sad2: ...but the 4 of us stood up and opened gifts.:santa: ..ate alone (because we were basically quaranteened ).:scared: ...and made the best of it:goodvibes ....OUr youngest DS didn`t get it as bad as the oldest one did....:headache:
the good news for you is that your into it already a while....so hopefully all this will be behind you soon TP !!

Hiya everyone!

Yes, I am still home. Saw my md yesterday and "resting" till at least monday.:sad2: This is terrible. I would rather be at work. I just keep thinking, I have to do this, and that, and look around my room thinking I could be cleaning..... and I am doing NOTHING. I have to get re-scoped. So I have an appt. with my surgeon > but can't get in till feb. He wants me done asap = he says "before wdw". He knows me well.:rotfl: So, hopefully that will get done quickly and be negative for several bad things.[which he is considering]. Hopefully, it is just diverticiluitis which is an infection. Something I will no longer be doing = popcorn:: :lmao:

Chicken pox, Tomar has a good rule of thumb.:wizard: She is such a great mom [ as you all are]. They used to say that if you kept them covered and warm they will bloom quicker.:confused3 Of course, if they have temperatures this should not be done. Bugs 1st case was probably about 15 pox. Not bad at all. The second one > I think she had 15 tiny areas not covered. :scared1: :lmao: I remember, when our older sister got mumps and our parents made us play with her to catch it. They where evil neither of us ever did. :yay: Tp2, hopefully the girls will feel better soon. And you will have time to rest before #3 occurs.

AP rates: I ran the numbers but with the ap rate NOT on the weekend > the rates aren't that great. Remember this is high season prices.:scared1:

Example: ap rate CR gw / gv = $ 279 / $440 [weekend] nite which is {average out of my 10 nites ressie #2} = $336.80
My 7 for 4 deal: with tix, [saving ap vouchures] and $200/00 gift card and same room category = $323.61 nite. So right now, I have a better deal cause I will save a few $$ and hold on to vouchures [pretty sure we will go again];)

Hope Candi is having a great time, not sure when she is due back.

EE22, must be snowing there today > we are getting it tonight.

Happy Planning, mky:cutie:
