Hi Tomar: Thanks for the well wishes. Busy week here. I think I remember from last year that you have the same situation with your boys.

My notifications are spotty at best. I got none yesterday. I just happened to check last night and saw the posts. I don't use AOL either so maybe something with DIS.:confused3 Funny though because when the code came out last week I got a million notifications and I could not keep up. Had to cancel that subscription.:rotfl:

I agree about the shopping. I was thinking the same thing. The stores are mobbed and the registers have long lines. I was out to buy birthday gifts and everyplace was mobbed.

Have a great week everyone.:flower3:

TP2- YAAY !!!! I got this notification !!:dance3: :dance3:
Someone must have listened to us !!
Hope the girls and Dad have a great Birthday !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hiya everyone!

TP2, Happy birthday girls!!!:cake: party: :bday: party: :cake:
Look out, it was 28 here this am. And is still cold. warmest it got was about 40. :rolleyes1 Your gonna busy this week. I am coming over too > only one at my house who won't eat fresh cranberries, got to be jellied, ocean spray.:dance3:

Tomar, will you get to see the princess: for the holidays, or just phone? I saw the sweetest little tea set at the disney store, and thought princess: would like it.

EE22, hope:teacher: school is going well. And heater is working. Have you eaten at Hollywood and Vine? They have a corn dish, think something like: corn spoon something...... its a southern dish, anyway > think I ate a whole pan, last time we went. :rolleyes1 Worth looking into. I asked it if was something special and they said no, they always have it.

Candi, hope things are good with the car business. I filled my own tires today. So proud. Got the air compressor on all by myself. I had a warning light saying my tires where low. >> too cold.

Haven't heard when the dining is opening up. But TGM finally put up March. I am so not buying that again. :snooty:

mky:cutie:

mky...I had loads of the corn dish at H&V in July. YUMMO CITY.

22 here this moring but my room was warm when I arrived...thank goodness. It's working great. They gave me new lights that are so bright the kids ask me to turn off half of them:rotfl: Maybe that's why I had a headache today.

MKY: Thanks so much for the birthday wishes.

You are more than welcome here for Thanksgiving. I think we are about 25 so another won't make a difference, just add to the festivities.:goodvibes

It definately cooled off today here too. Not sure of the exact temperature but even with my fall jacket I was cool. Could see my breath and yesterday we had the a/c on in the car.:confused3 Go figure.

Good job on filling the tires. That is one of the things I am afraid of. Did I overfill this one, underfill that one, did I use the guage correctly?:rotfl:

I am excited about ASMu suites. So far they still have festivities around the pool which will be a ton of fun. I just hope they are still going on by the summer with all the cut backs. I could definately see it being something that gets taken away. I feel a little guilty even talking about a trip with all that is going on. People are really hurting. We don't do too much so this is our big splurge for the year. We do celebrate birthdays and Christmas but we are not a family that is always at Chuck E Cheese and the movies on the weekend. We save it all up. Think a lot people don't realize how those things add up.

TP2, I know what you mean. This summer max, kept asking if we where rich.:rotfl: I told him, I live on a budget, and work extra to afford wdw. Would be alot easier, if we where rich. :rotfl: But, we are very grateful that we can go. :wizard: With a little luck, help from disney, and alot of planning > it comes togther. I think it comes down to choices. Hmmm, go to the movies this week , or save it for wdw.  Every once in a while> we go to the show.:lmao:

Not sure about the summer pool activities. The all stars, pool areas always look like fun. Their pools seem busy even late at nite. Lots of action.

Now, I feel like an only child. Our turkey I bought was 9#. It is only us. I wish we had a big family, but that ain't gonna happen now.:upsidedow It must be fun. Well at least I get to work on thanksgiving.;)

mky:cutie:

The holidays are very stressful. And what happens is that smaller families gravitate towards us so we add at least an extra 10 to the list with couples that don't have family in town. I stress because I was brought up with very traditional holidays where everything was made from scratch. DH's family is so big, there is no way anyone could do it all. Everyone brings a dish and sometimes there is food that I don't consider Christmas food (6 foot hero and hot dogs:lmao: ) but I am used to it now and realize it is more about us all being together.:goodvibes We also don't sit around the table. That took some getting used to. We set up a buffet and sit on the floor or lean on a counter. Whatever works. The first year I tried to have a table and chair for everyone and people all stood around anyway. :rotfl:

:rotfl: tp2, your too funny. My parents who fall over if not everyone had a chair. All meals at the table! Dad rules. Me, I don't care. :confused3 Would be alot livier conversations thou.

mky:cutie:

MKY: Tonight, my mom nearly had a heart attack because I brought the birthday cake, with burning candles, into the den to sing happy birthday. I then knelt down on the floor while DD10 blew out her candles.:headache: I am pretty used to it now but for my parents, they only deal with it sometimes so it is more of a shock.:rotfl:

Thanks MKY! I am sure they did but I will tell you that I am exhausted so they had better be happy. I still have my dad tomorrow and DD7 on Friday. At least the 2 kiddie parties are over.

So I got the pin with kids stay, play, and eat for free. It would cost a lot more than what I currently have booked, like $1900 more and that is with me planning $1000 for food. I guess the seasons really effect prices. Just terrible.

Tomar: Glad you got the notifications. Funny how sometimes it works and other times it doesn't.

Hope everyones week is going well. I had a bad connection when I called and I am now thinking that I got something wrong. My quote is just not making sense. Maybe I will call again tomorrow.

Hi Ladies !!
WEll ...Im back to getting notifed.....ONCE IN A WHILE !! ick !:upsidedow
I couldn`t help but overhear your conversation about cooking and holidays ladies ...ROTFL :lmao: ....so I`ll put my 2 cents into what happens at the Tomar`s every Thanksgiving......I don`t only make a Turkey.......I cook a full Italian Dinner as well as the candied yams and Stuffed Mushrooms and Meatballs and Baked Ziti and Stuffing !!....I used to be excited about my menu for Thanksgiving and
christmas...but as Im getting older ...I see the holidays as very stressful if I am doing all the cooking !!...My DDIL`s used to help quite a bit....now one is in South Carolina ......so it`s back to square one again sort of !! ;)
TP2- sounds like a very informal gathering at your house...that is sooooo nice and cozy..(even if there is 25 people at a time there...:cloud9: ).....
Happy Birthday to the girls !!!
MKY- We are traditional "Dining Room....Linen Table Cloth and Napkins....everyone has a seat type of family gathering too
When we are invited over our cousin`s house for the holidays ....it is more in the way of how TP`s family gathers....each one of us brings a dish ...and we get to sample alot of good food !!
Not sure if the Princess is coming to Gram-ma`s for the holidays....I keep asking....but with the economy the way it is...it might be tough for them to come up to New Jersey for any length of time without DS leaving work :sad2: ....but.... I already bought her a couple of things from the Disney site on-line.....the Princess Tea Cart ....and the Baby Cinderella doll princess: :cloud9:
EE22- I read the recipe that MKY put the link here for you to see....the Corn thingy sounds sooooooooooooooooooo yummy !!!:goodvibes

I can`t believe it`s already almost the middle of November !!! ....I`d really like it to be almost......................JULY !

Tomar: Can I come to your house for the holidays??? I will bring the lasagna!!!:goodvibes

This was my moms Christmas dinner: Chicken Soup for starter, Lasagna for appy, whatever meat she chose for the year (turkey, pork crown, etc) then all the vegetables and 2 types of potatoes. After dinner were nuts, then fruit, then cookies and pasteries. We would be full for days. Of course dinner started in the late afternoon and we would eat until after midnight. When I was really little and went to my grandmas she would have all the fried fish on Christmas Eve, then the traditional dinner and all the other stuff I mentioned. We would go home at 4 or 5 am. Santa always came to my grandparents at midnight and then we started presents. After presents was dessert. Life sure changed when I got married.:rotfl2:

I definately miss the traditional holiday. :sad2: Tomar, you sound like you celebrate the traditional Italian holiday the way we did when I was little.:lovestruc I so miss those days. Your my hero because I have no idea how you do it all.:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

TP2- Awwwwwww....thank you so much !!!:goodvibes
Times have changed thats for sure...but the old traditions linger in my house ...:flower3: I`ve cut down alot though
If I started to tell you how much I cook....Id be on here for an hour at least !!!
Your Grandma`s house sounds like mine !! YESSSSS!!!!....We never gave up the old Italian tradition of all the fish on Christmas Eve....I usually make Shrimp Oreganata w/ Spagetti on Christmas Eve....Breaded Filet....Calamari ...and I stop at that....My Mother (Nana) used to do the 7 fishes ....I don`t.....too tired
As far as Deserts ....we have the Italian Bakery Here In New Jersey where we get our Pasteries (Canolis ...Bastachotha...sfuyadelli (bad spelling)....and Tarimasu ).....I can`t seem to loose a pound of it all until MARCH or APRIL!! LOL :rotfl:
I cheat alot on the holidays :teeth: ...I`m supposed to watch my cholesterol....Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight !!!!!!! :rolleyes1

I remeber my grandma doing the 7 fishes (and I would not eat fish) and a lasagna or whatever else. I just remember her frying in the kitchen all night. She also BAKED all the Italian pasteries from scratch. I have no idea how she did it all. All I can say is the memories have lasted a lifetime and although things are different for my kids, I still try to make them memorable. I bake for the week before Christmas and DH can never understand why we have fresh cookies and dessert but no dinner.:rotfl2: I think it is finally starting to sink in but he never lived it so it is hard.

Grandma must have been a wonderful Lady TP2 :cloud9: ....I remember My mother makeing her own Raviolis and Monicotti too...but I won`t LOL...toooo much work:eek:
Nowadays...I make Semolina Pasta because Mr. Tomar is a Diabetic...
I would say....whatever your menu....the fact that your all together on the holidays..... makes for a wonderful time !!!:goodvibes

Tomar: I agree that it is really about being together. But I do miss the old days. I have no idea how anyone can do it all though. She made the manicotti from scratch too, ravioli was always Silver Star.

Nice and Fresh:cloud9: ....in the Boxes:cloud9: ....Good to go !!!!:cloud9:

Tomar: Are you still able to buy it? I have not seen it in years.

For years we used to order ...Even the Large Stuffed Shells.....from an Italian Deli on Ave. N in Brooklyn....and pick our order up a few days before Christmas Eve.:goodvibes ....since we`ve moved to New Jersey...I`ve only seen them ONCE :sad2: ....
They were the best !!
