Hi everyone

MKY - you liked the movie? DD10 wants to see it but I didn't think it looked very good based on the trailers I have been seeing. I am glad it will be better than I expected it to be.

:surfweb:

Not sure if you should go by me. I like goofy, dog movies.:confused3 ;)

mky:cutie:

MKY - I like cute animal movies (Cats and Dogs, Good Boy for examples) but I was not sure this would be a good cute movie. DD10 is desperate to go, so we shall try it but I will leave my book at home. :lmao:

Thanks for the good wishes everyone for DD4. :grouphug:

Candi: It is the egg protien that she is allergic to so it is the whites of the egg. No marshmallows.:scared1: We have campfires all the time. It is just amazing how it changes your everyday activities. No chicken nuggets either. Not that I am a big fast food person but sometimes we are just in a jam. Have to figure all of that out.

I am also rent a car in August, if the price is right. I have to pay attention to the prices and codes you guys are using. What about Hotwire? I am sure there is a downside but I am always getting updates from them advertising $8.95 per day. Seems really cheap though.

Have a great Sunday everyone.:flower3:

Hi Everyone!

Last week was Homecoming so it was very busy and a lot of work getting my students to do anything. I'm glad it's over!!

MKY: Can you call for dining yet?

I am on TGM...sometimes I don't find the info that great either and it's confusing. Since we go at such busy times, I still like to see what he has to say. I do find much of the info can be outdated, yet. Last time I looked too...the March info wasn't out. I find he's slow with those days.

Remember to make a ressie at the Midway hotels:wizard: that worked like a charm when we went to Reno. When we left I added an hour plus some for the 2 hour early for the flight because of waiting for the shuttle. There was some concert happening that weekend (1st in Aug) and SW was packed.:scared1: I about died when we got to the counter to check in:scared1: the line went all through the ropes and back down the hallway. But, we were through the line in 20 minutes. I was amazed.

We really liked SW. The check in is better now too. You don't get assigned seats, but don't let that stop you. The 4 of us were all together. They have improved the system. You check in 24 hours before hand. You'll have to think about where to find a pewter though at WDW. I know CR has them right? Even so, it's not that big of deal. I was very worried about that since it was so new and it was not a big deal and paying $120 to pick seats for a family of four is a huge rip off! In fact, I'm sure we could help you from here too now that I think about it;) you can print your boarding pass at the airport after checking in too. Keep TP2 and I posted on what you need. TP2 was the Queen of info for me. It did take me a few days to figure out the system.

I would book a flight that you like since prices do go up too and then check daily like I said and change them for better fares. Changing to a lower fare is easy. Getting a Ding fare is different...TP2 can take you through that or I can too, but she's done it before.

TP2...hope you're doing okay with the eggs. Our place that we like to eat here changed their menus AGAIN and I tried something new. Not good...before we left, my lips were already swelling up:confused: and my eyes were swollen. I've thought about trying Zytec but it's so expensive that I haven't yet. I take allergy meds daily too. The hive meds I use to buy are not on the market anymore.

I've never done other sources for car rentals. I wonder if you cancel what happens:confused3

Tomar: I hope PP comes through the surgery like a true Princess. I had my tonsils out when I was in 1st grade. I can still remember all the ice cream. DL11 has had 3 tub surgeries and doesn't really remember them much and she was 3 when she had the last one. Pixie Dust for her!!

Candi: Hope you're doing well with your plans too. Car rentals are still really high for next summer. I would go back into the site for your signature. There is a selection to add a ticker to it and also text. I am sorry I'm not much more help than that. DL11 helped me fix mine last week.

EE22: Do you have an egg allergy too? I know you have tons of things but I can't remember if eggs bother you. She is doing better already. Problems I am finding is some icecream has eggs, others don't. We were just at a birthday party and the cake was from Carvel. I read the box and eggs are in their recipe. I bought Breyers and no eggs. I am confused with pasta and pizza dough. I can't imagine making either without eggs, yet I don't see it on the box. I did print out a list with all other words used instead of eggs and I am still not sure if they are just labeling it differently. I need to find something to leave in her classroom for the days of birthday parties in school. She has been an angel about it and if she is better, than no tubes because her asthma may have been related.

Can you get the Zyrtec through insurance? All of her stuff goes through and the price difference is amazing. I do pay $55 for a 3 month supply of Zantac but if I got generic it would only be $5. Generic did not help her though so we needed the real stuff. She did not have the Zantac last night or today. I am hoping to keep her off it. Time will tell.

TP2: I can still eat eggs:rotfl: I have to be careful of the bread I use for toast.

here's my list of allergies: peanut butter and peanuts are the worst. All nuts including walnuts now. Smoke...not that I do, but being in a place with smoke causes me to become very sick very fast now. Coconut...processed usually...oil seems to be okay at this time. Tuna Fish, fresh fish and seafood of any kind. Processed meats of any kind. Cheese. Some cheeses are worse than others...aged cheeses do more damage. I can have pizza on Fridays and that's my limit for cheese for the week or I get really sick.

The two that are in lots of stuff that I have the most trouble with while eating out or are hidden in many items are caramel color and yellow dye. Eating or using yellow dye is an issue. Make up has tons of yellow dyes. That bothers me as it's the same as what's in food.

Pop/soda...all have yellow dye or caramel color except clear ones and most places don't carry diet clear pop. I drink Fresca or diet Squirt.

Splenda. Makes me very sick within 15-30 minutes of anything in it. When diet pop goes to splenda...I'll be on water and coffee. I have to be very careful of sugar free stuff.

I recently am having issues with salty stuff like pretzels which is driving me nuts as there are almost no snack foods I can eat. I guess that's good, but it's annoying. Doritoes are out...as are many chips. Most have yellow dyes in them.

I use to love the Halloween pumpkins that are like candy corn. I loved those things. I cannot eat them now.

I discovered just today that the fudgee oreoes that are new on the market have caramel color in them and that's what's been giving me fits this fall:sick: I read the package, but I missed it:confused3 not good. Now maybe I won't look like the Hunchback with swollen eyes anymore though.

I stay away from ice creams because even the vanilla has yellow dye in it. DQ is okay, but many of the cones are not. It's very frustrating at times especially when I cannot figure out what it is that is making me have hives or drop dead sick.

I use to make home made pizza dough and it did NOT use eggs. Many doughs for breads that raise may not so that wouldn't surprise me. I have a great recipe for rolls too and there's no eggs...just mashed potatoes. If you want my crust recipe I can send it too.:goodvibes

I take clarinex daily but zyrtec is OTC now so I'd have to buy it. Benadyl usually works well, but I thought it wasn't working. It's because of those dumb cookies. I'd have a couple on Friday after pizza and I'd start all over again with the eye deal.

I would bet her tummy is related to eggs. My room mate in college had a milk allergy and it took years for her to figure it out. After that, she was better.

Hi Guys !!!!! :goodvibes

TP2- The Brand name /versus the Generic was an issue with my tummy meds....The Nexium is much more expensive to Mr. Tomar`s Insurance coverage for RX`s than ...........Prilosic OTC....but....I was soooo sick from that ...I had to go back on the Nexium.....
Your a Great Mommy TP  .....buying DD4 the Bryers Icecream so she can enjoy the party too:cloud9:
I used to do that for my older DS....when they had parties at school ...I asked if the cake was chocolate...and if it was...I brought him in some Vanilla Dunkin Donuts :flower3: ...
About the car rental TP2- I have never seen a 8.95 a day car....but I also never have used Hotwire either...mabe its true...we usually use Alamo or National....we can certainly give you a lesson on how to try and get a good price from them...:goodvibes

EE22- Glad Homecoming is over and the kiddies are back to paying attention to the bestest teacher in the field of dreams !! :teacher:
Looks like SW is the way to go for you guys that can fly them .....:yay:
Thank you so much for the good wishes for PP too :cloud9: Im sure she`s gunna love the icecream afterwards...but the hurt will be there for a while too Im afraid :sad1:

MKY- If you need to check in and have your boarding passes printed on the way home from the world....the Front Desk of any Disney Resort will do that for you ;) .......We don`t have lap top neither...so the day before we are to come back home....we go to the front desk with our confirmations and they will check us in and print them :lovestruc !
Sounds like the Disney Dog movie is a thumbs up MKY:thumbsup2 ...glad you enjoyed it !!

Candi- Hope all is ging well with your planns for your upcoming trip !!...retty soon now !!:yay: :yay: :yay:

Happy Sunday everyone !!:grouphug:

Hiya everyone, wave2:

Wondering about the allergies, Do they do "shots" for food allergies? If so, TP2 your daughter is young and might be worth looking into. I got allergy shots for 18 yrs, for my asthma. Not cured, but way way way better than before. All spring, aug, and fall > I looked like I had a bad cold, cough and wheeze. It is all airborne stuff. mites, molds, animals, rag weed, grass, trees, any food would just be related to molds> like no beer, or wine. All molds.:confused3 :rotfl: I got sick 1 year walking around busch gardens. It was from the "hops" or mold in air. The shots weren't bad. 1 shot a week for a year, then 1 every 2 weeks for 2 years, than 1 every 3 weeks for 2 years than 1 a month. But I tried to quiet after 12years, and started getting sick easier, restarted and had to start all over. > at the 1 year thing.:scared1: Finally, I quit but much better. Just sick once or twice. Last year I was really good. I started taking vitamins and eating better > which helped. Remember I am around sick people all the time. Kids cough on me every day. With the asthma I can catch it. But, seems like I am a little more immune now. Talk to your md about a pediatric allergist / immunology treatments. EE22, not sure if you want to go through all that now. But, I went through [a pediatric allergist] [friend] and sent sis there too. He does adults. And there where many adults there.;)

EE22, glad you enjoyed homecoming. :cheer2: Lots of festivities. Dining is still tied up.

Candi, did you take DD to see the #1 film in america? Bev Hills c. dogs.:wizard:

Tomar, thanks for the info on boarding passes. We get a computer at CR but no printer. The front desk, will probably send us over to the "office center", in the convention center.
I am on nexium too. prilsosec just doesn't cut it. no matter what my insurance says.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I ordered the entertainment book, so anyone needs coupons let me know.:wizard:

mky:cutie:

I can answer about the shots and food...when I went three years ago, there are not shots for food at this time. To deal with food allergies...you avoid the food. If they are severe enough, epi pens are used. I suppose it could have changed by now, but I don't think so as those allergic to peanuts still have epi pens

Many of mine are intolerances as well. Nuts and the dyes are true allergies. They can also not test for chemicals like dyes....only biologicals...like apples, tomatoes, etc. Apples and Tomatoes were the only two I didn't know for sure and I am not allergic to apples and I hate tomatoes.

He felt so bad for me...he didn't charge me:rotfl: :rotfl:

I forgot mky....I am allergic to mold as well...that's the real reason I take allergy meds each day.

EE22, it was worth a try.:confused3 I don't miss taking something daily for allergies. Feeling foggy all day. But I think the drugs are better now. They still use epi pens. I hope you have one.:wizard: And actually carry it with you.;)

mky:cutie:

I know...thanks mky:goodvibes a friend of mine at work gets weekly shots and she told me a couple of years ago to see an allergist so I asked my doc and I went with HIGH hopes. Oh well...there are worse things that's all I know. And there are worse allergies too.

I don't have an epi pen. I really should get one. THEY ARE HUGE!!!

When I had finished dinner last night...my lips started to swell. I don't need botox;)

EE22: You are such a mess!:sad2: I would not charge you either.:rotfl: I agree about no shots for food allergies. I think you just need to avoid the foods. Eggs are rough. I cannot imagine all that you have to avoid. I would love if she could eat chocolate again. Then I would only need to look out for eggs. Thank god she is good about it. I think she is so happy to feel well. The best behavior I have ever seen has been in the last 24 hours. I cryed when we got back from the birthday party today. She was so good and got along with all the other kids. Also, she asked to leave and was fine that she could not eat the cake. I don't know if anyone truely understands what that means.

MKY: I have to say that I love having a resident nurse here. I always feel like there is someone rooting for us. I sometimes wonder if the doctors determine a diagnosis based on our insurance or what the insurance wants them to say. I like to hear the straight talk.

Tomar: It is nice to hear from someone who has been through it all. I know I am not the only mom dealing with food allergies but my goodness, sometimes you just want to cry. Wheat is a rough one. Not sure how you dealt with that especially years ago. At least now there are stores and companies that market to the allergies. I don't know if they were in place when I was a kid.

:rotfl: The Jury is IN...I'm a mess:lmao: last year a student asked if I wanted some gummy bears and I asked if he was trying to kill me:rotfl:

I know several women who developed allergies after being pregnant too. Very strange...both to seafood.

As I said, I could have worse things believe me. The only time I get upset is if I cannot figure out what's causing it and my head hurts for weeks on end as it has a few times. I have been dealing with the hives for weeks and I am so glad I figured it out. I think they changed the ingredients too...I would have noticed...I know I would have. It's the last item listed so I know to look there.

A warning too: they do change foods often. Two years ago when I had such a horrible time of things and had to take prednisone for 5 days to get back to normal...the protein bars I had eaten for 1.5 years...they changed them and put peanut butter paste in them. NOT GOOD!! So, recheck things even if you know they are safe the first time.

I can still eat chocolate, but I know there will come a day when I cannot due to the sensitivity to nuts...in time, I won't be able to I'm sure. Until then, I will eat it...I force myself daily:rotfl: One time I gave it up for Lent and I got sick from it so now I eat it each day. I have to be careful of it though...I stick to dark Dove squares...keep it simple. I had some bunnies at Easter with Hazelnut paste. I wanted to rip out my eyes:laughing:

I can't drink alcohol either...not a drop. I never say that because I haven't any in years. I like the tooty fruity ones anyway and they taste the same with or without and I can't eat those either anymore due to all the dyes in them.;) Red wines are BAD!!

I remembered I had an eggless cake recipe, but I remembered it's chocolate.
I would bet you could find something online for an eggless cake :goodvibes

Why do they need to change the food recipes.:confused3 DD4's preschool was making a list for peanut free cake mixes and the list is completely different from last year. Not very smart.

EE22, it was worth a try.:confused3 I don't miss taking something daily for allergies. Feeling foggy all day. But I think the drugs are better now. They still use epi pens. I hope you have one.:wizard: And actually carry it with you.;)

mky:cutie:

MKY- Our Oldest DS has the Epi Pen...carrys it all over ...especially since he moved to South Carolina....alot of allergens there .....another reason why I wish they would come back up north :rolleyes1
Your allergies sound like our 2 DS`s senarios....mostly enviormental.....they were allergic to everything that grew in the spring and died in the fall !!
I went through all the patch tests and the results were that my Asthma was related stomach issues.....Nexium is a wonder med ! :woohoo:
and I agree with TP2 .....Nurse MKY:cutie: .........ROCKS ! :woohoo: :woohoo:

I know...thanks mky:goodvibes a friend of mine at work gets weekly shots and she told me a couple of years ago to see an allergist so I asked my doc and I went with HIGH hopes. Oh well...there are worse things that's all I know. And there are worse allergies too.

When I had finished dinner last night...my lips started to swell. I don't need botox;)

EE22- Im sooo sorry that your having allergy issues now  ....I know that there aren`t shots for the food allergies....but the Epi Pen sounds like a good idea for an emergency ! :goodvibes .....Feel Better !
ps....I agree with TP2 though....I wouldn`t change you either !!!:grouphug:

EE22: You are such a mess!:sad2: I would not charge you either.:rotfl: I agree about no shots for food allergies. I think you just need to avoid the foods. Eggs are rough. TP2- I know very well what you are going through....hang in there !
The light at the end of the tunnel may be that DD4 grows out of her allergies when she gets older :flower3:
and.....
Nope:rolleyes: ....there were no specialty stores for us back then....it was all.........Trail and Error !!:scared1:

Happy New Week everyone ! :grouphug:

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. She is doing better already. She is sleeping and she, so far, is fine with the diet. I think she is also so happy to feel better. We have been off Zantac for 2 days and life has been perfect. I can't believe it really. I feel very lucky to have found out the possible cause of all her illness.

TP2...did you have her tested for eggs? I missed how you found out.

Also, is she for sure allergic to chocolate or is it because of eggs with the chocolate. Just wondering.

EE22: We went to an allergist and because she is on Zantac, an antahistamine, they could not do the normal skin test. She would have to be off Zantac for at least 3 days and at that point she would scream that her belly hurt even in between doses. So they sent us for blood work and the test done took 2 weeks to come back. They seperated the protiens to see what exactly she is allergic to. He said that they need to do the skin test to see how bad they really are though. The eggs came back with a small protien allergy count but he thought it was worth it to eliminate the eggs completely for 2 weeks. She has not taken Zantac for 2 days now which is huge. As long as she does not need the meds this week, we are going back on Friday for the skin test. Poor kid, but in the end she will be much happier. I hate her being on medicine. I just feel that she is so young and we really don't know the long term effects of it. I am not holding my breath but I am praying that we have finally found her culprit.

EE22: As for the chocolate, it may just be that her belly was so sore from the eggs that she could not tolerate any other triggers. I am hoping that at some point we will be able to give her chocolate again. Egg allergies cause severe stomach pain, reflux, asthma, all kinds of stuff. If the eggs cause the reflux, it should erase her intolerance to chocolate.

Thanks TP2. I remember now when I went to the allergist I had to stop my meds for a couple days before...it was fall and I was dying by the time I got in there. I didn't even do any skin tests.

Keep us posted. Sounds like even with an egg allergy, things might be much, much better in the long run.

To be honest too...I miss stuff that I can't eat anymore because I knew that I liked it. She may not miss stuff as she's so young so doesn't have great memories of stuff that she would eat. If that makes any sense at all!:goodvibes Like Diet Pepsi. What I wouldn't do for one. Miss them!
