Evening ladies.:yay:

You all are toooooooooooooooooooo kind.   Sometimes, I write something, and then think you sound like a "know it all". Unfortunately or fortunately it is every nurses life to teach. [EE22 us to];) Comes second nature now, I am sooooooooo old.:upsidedow :scared1:

TP2, Good luck with the scratch test! I remember  it didn't hurt like shots > just itched bad when you react to something. Expect to be there a longgggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg time. It takes quite a while. Remember being there for a few hours.

mky:cutie:

mky...I used your tip for tonsils for a couple at work. Their DD is having her tonsils out on 11/4. You're the BEST!!!

You're not old. You're wise :goodvibes

MKY: Thanks for that info on the skin test. I am nervous because I feel we are cutting it close getting home in time for the bus. It gives me a chance to make arrangements. And I agree with EE22, WISE...not old!:goodvibes

EE22: When they told me she would need to be off meds I almost cried. Could not imagine last week. Now, she is great. What a difference a day makes. She was so miserable before, she is happy to not eat whatever it might be that hurts her. I really wonder how bad she felt.:sad2: Makes me feel awful.

TP2...you didn't know...don't beat yourself up. When DD had her teeth pulled (one had grown sideways above her two upper front teeth) she had developed a HUGE blood blister (hematoma) above her upper gum and DH was giving her a hard time about not eating and talking funny....he felt horrible about giving her a hard time. Then the new "stupid" oral surgeon tried to cut it.:scared1: Then the new nurse...was going to cut her stitches. The VETERAN (aka MKY) came in and said LEAVE THEM ALONE...they dissolve. We joke about it now.

There is no handbook for parents. It's hard to know what to do and it's so very difficult to know how serious things are. I know my mom was overwhelmed my headaches. I starting getting them in 5th grade...everyone thought I had the 24 hour flu as I was so sick to my stomach with my migraines and back then...they had no idea about migraines. She would always have to imposed on our neighbor since my mom was a single mom.

Don't be so hard on yourself. You're doing the best you can:grouphug:

Hi Guys !:surfweb:

TP2- Good luck with DD4 and the testing ....Lots of Pixie duct coming your way !!!!pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:
Sounds like your almost on the path of better health for her ...and pleeeeeeeae don`t feel guilty of anything !!!!....Allergies and Asthma (as MKY will surely tell you)....is a tricky condition....its diagnosed mainly by trial and error with food especially....the enviornmental things are the easy ones...scratch tests .....you get a hive...your allergic...no hive...not allergic.....we`ve been through them all...and at the end of the day....you will always say..."Geesh...if only I knew that" .....The hardest thing for Mr. Tomar and I was to stop our older DS`s shotswhen he was small .....we did so, because he had "Ezema"....and everytime he was given an allergy shot....the flair up was incredible:scared1: :scared1: ....He would scratch and scratch and scratch....:sad2: ....I felt like I was putting my child through torture !:sad1:
He is a healthy adult today...yes he carries an Epi Pen...but the shots were actually giveing him more of a problem than not....Mr. Tomar and I absolutely never regreted stopping them....we had more work though...(and I didn`t care...I just wanted him to be comfortable as you want for DD4)......We monitored everything that he was near...or touched ...or ate....for a while....and it worked especially with the Ezema....
Things will get better and we are all praying for her  !!
The Perfectly Princess will going into the hospital in a week now....princess:
Im praying that she is soooooo much better off than now, when she has her tonsils and Adneoids out ...and they place the tubes in her ears .....
She is another candidate for major family allergies ...and the Doctor told our DS and DDIL that they may materialize sooner now that she is having her tonsils removed .....:headache:
Keep us up to date on DD4....we are all wishing you all the best !!!:grouphug:

I remember that...the oral surgeon AND the nurse were complete idiots!! And it was pretty lame that the surgeon told me I needed psychiatric help because he was coming at me with a sharp object and I was scared.

And my dad was lame and said I was always going to talk with a lisp if I didn't talk right with that blood blister. :confused3

It's all true:rotfl: she's still around to remind her dad about it too:woohoo:
I must be sure to mention again...the Veteran Mky-type Nurse was AWESOME though:goodvibes She told them to leave her alone. The real doc then came in and took over.

Evening ladies, :)

Wow, everyone has so much going on. pixiedust: pixiedust:

TP2, do not feel guilty. You are a wonderful mom. Allergies, are terrible, and can happen quickly. The way allergens work: you might have a little tiny reaction to it the 1st time...> then each time your exposed [breath, eat it or what ever] > you have a little bit worse reaction. IE= "she had penicillin before, don't know why she is allergic now?" > means tiny little reactions all added up till > a bad reaction. So you don't notice it at first. You might think, oh just part of sickness. Sensitive stomach.....> but it just got worse next time she ate it. Look at it this way> it might of taken you longer to catch on then it did. Cause your a great mom.;) Good luck with the scratch test!pixiedust: pixiedust: ;) thanks for the email;)

Tomar, pixiedust: pixiedust:princess: Good luck! princess: pixiedust: pixiedust: Keep us updated too tomar.;) The younger the better for a t&a. and girls do better than boys. Smart to do it at this age.:thumbsup2

EE22, feel free to steal tips:thumbsup2

You guys have a great nite. Boring tv tonight.:sad2: mky:cutie:

We love you mky!!!

I can't wait till the TP2 girls are in math and need help with polynomial equations:teacher:

Thanks for all the kind words everyone.:grouphug:

Tomar: That is so much for her to go through.:sad1: Well wishes for her but I am sure she will feel so much better when it is all over. She will be in our prayers next week.:flower3:

EE22 & DL11: Can't imagine. We trust doctors because we feel we should and sometimes we make a mistake. They are only human but certain things seem to be common sense. That is awful. Sorry you went through that. :sad2:

EE22: I am already having a hard time with DD9's homework. She got something wrong last week after I checked it.:headache: Shes only in 4th grade. Not sure what I am going to have to deal with in the next couple of years. I am definately going to NEED you around. She is "studying" Italian this week (on her own). Shes making me crazy, I have no idea what she is talking about.:rotfl:

MKY: No problem at all. I will continue to keep my eyes open. It is the least I can do for all the guidance you have provided through the years.

TP2: Last fall DL11 had a project for US History and it was an immigration project and it dealt with writing a story about a family in a picture. They were Italian. I asked Tomar for help for her with some questions :goodvibes She got a GREAT grade. The teacher said it was very true to life:rotfl:
Homework is not fun. I did send a pm to mky too about an anatomy question too:rotfl:

MKY:cutie: - I will !...Thank you for easing a "worried" Gam-ma`s Brain
Im looking on-line for the "Enchanted Tales"..."Tea time with me and Belle" for her when she comes home from the hospital :flower3: ...Went to our local toy store, as well as the Disney Store and ...Nada !
I hope I find this ...she really really wants it..and so I am "Gam-ma on a Mission":rotfl:

Thanks for all the kind words everyone.:grouphug:

Happy middle of the week everyone !

Hiya everyone!

Is it really only wednesday? This month is so busy. Got a bunch of doctors appt., dentist, friends b-days, something going on almost everyday off. I'm tired. Fell asleep at 8:30 pm [7:30pm est]. :rotfl: last nite.:sad2:

EE22, hope the anatomy question works out. ;)

DL11, That sounds terrible. Glad you finally got straightened out.:wizard:

TP2 & Tomar, thinking of your princessesprincess: & princess: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Candi, how are things in Canada? I know detroit isn't good. Hang in there.:car: But your trip is getting closer.:wizard:

mky:cutie:

BIG NEWS FROM THE FIELD OF DREAMS!!!
The bathroom next to my room...are you sitting down? They put locks on the doors to the bathroom stalls.:woohoo:

It's sad that I'm so excited, but I can't tell you how many times I've been walked in on when I'm hiking up the Victorias and my dress is up around my neck:rotfl:

now...if they could just get the water to run in the sink and stop the hot water from running through the toilets (it's a sauna toilet) life would be good.

Getting closer to turning on the heater...so watch CNN next week:rolleyes:

EE22 - boy are plumbers that hard to find down your way? :lmao:

MKY - work is crazy right now. As bad as Detroit is, we are right behind them. We ship a lot of product to Michigan. The aftermarket (replacement parts) should start to pick up as people fix the older cars instead of buying new and we do a lot of business with that area. That will help.

We are on zero overtime (Mon & Tues) are difficult to do that with. Plus we have a manditory 4 day work week instead of 5 so everyone has to take at least 8 hours each week unpaid.

We have our Canadian Thanksgiving on Monday and we were just told we have to take an additional day off that week. So we now have 3 days to do 5 days work.:sad2: :sad2: Not sure how we are going to make that happen but at least we still have jobs to go to. Thank goodness I have so little debt that I am not worried about being able to feed the kids like some families are.

DD10 has spent the last two nights in the hospital and doctors office. We did not get home from the hospital till 11:30 last night.

She was having chest pains and a fever plus they found a trace amount of blood in her urine. Then last night the fever spiked up and she felt sick to her stomach. They are wondering about kidney stones. Our health care might be included in our taxes, but the machine works very slow. We waited for 3 hours just to get into a bed and then they had not even run the urine test yet.

So everyone seems to be struggling these days. I swear it is the change of season that brings on the madness.

84 days till Florida. Flu shots are a must for everyone this year in our house. Plus DH is going to get his Hep A&B done since I made the kids get it before we cruised last time.

Candi...I hope your DD gets better. That is very scray.
Good luck with the job situation as well.
Pixie Dust and prayers.

We have plumbers here...just not that work for the school because they don't make the money that they do in the private sector.

EE22 - Thanks for the well wishes for DD.

I think our school boards are not contracting all that work out because they don't want to have to pay full time for work that may not be full time. The school my kids go to is 86 years old but it is not in as bad a shape as one might think.

I am glad I have everyone on the board to talk to about Disney. Since we are going in January for the third time in a year, everyone gives me the evil eye if I bring it up...so no count down going on at towork for me. :confused3

Good evening everyone !!:goodvibes
Candi - Pixie Dust for your DD !! praying that she gets better soon !!
and happy Canadian Thanksgiving !
pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Well guys...Found the Princess`s Belle doll and tea set with Mrs, Pots and chip.....I ordered it through Amazon .com...and shipped it straight to South Carolina....Im sooo happpy I found it ...its the cutest toy for a 2 1/2 year oldwho`s gunna be recouperating from a tonsilectomy:cloud9: ......DS promises to give it to her as soon as she gets out of the hospital !!:yay:

Hope everyone had a great night !!:grouphug:

Candi: How is your DD? I had kidney stones a few years ago and they took me to the hospital in an ambulance the pain was so bad. I had no idea what was going on but I was vomiting and then I thought I threw my back out. It was awful and then I just passed out from the pain. I so hope she is feeling better. I was completely out of it and really have no idea how they tested for it. Maybe an x-ray?

Tomar: So glad you found what you were looking for.:goodvibes She will be so thrilled to have something so special waiting for her when she gets home. What day does she go in?

Tomar - the tea set will be a great way to keep her hydrated. They can put something in the cups instead of pretending and she will drinks lots while playing.....I want a Mrs Potts tea set....do you think 42 is a bit old? :lmao: I still wish I had bought the Mrs Potts tea pot from our first trip in 1995 :goodvibes I hope she does well with the surgery.

TP2 - A friend at work had them too and it was killer for her. They don't know what is wrong with my DD. They figure it is viral since they don't really have anything to put their finger on.

She is feeling better and will try to go to school tomorrow, but I am not sure she will make it through the day. She is still not eating much and has dark circles around her eyes and pain at time, but when she is resting seems seems a lot better. Grandma has been with her the last couple of days and she has loved that. I have the best mom ever!!! :goodvibes

83 days till Disney! :dance3:
