Hiya everyone,

Thanks Tomar and everyone about the car thing. I have run the ad a few days here and have someone coming thursday nite to see it, sounds motivated coming from north chicago. Otherwise, I have had 2 calls and 1 email. :confused3 We will see what happens.

EE22 NO Just keep that snow in IOWA. :scared1: :wizard: I saw on the news this front coming from IOWA, and SNOW (which is a 4 letter word) was definately mentioned. It was 70 here on sat and today 40's windy & raining. Wonder what it is doing at WDW? Your AK plain is probably high 80's.;)

A friend of mine husband (accountant) is in Orlando, for meetings (golf) and staying at the huge Marriott > Out by itself supposed to be really nice from what he says. He called her from the 8th tee. :upsidedow

Candi, Good luck with TGM. I am Myky on there. Guess I was lazy the day I signed up. :confused3 There is a ton of info, just takes quite a while to figure out where to go.

I thought I scored a code this am > it was my announcement about the disney visa free dining. I don't have enough trouble with weight, they are becoming bound and determined to feed us. :sad2: :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a great day. mky:cutie:

It snowed today:mad: my parents are coming all the way out here and I don't think the kids will even have their meet on Friday either.:sad1: There are not even buds on the trees here....

We have snow in our forcast too.

Some idiot must have put their snow shovel away. :lmao: :lmao:

We usually get one small snow fall that doesn't last till noon at the beginning of April.

The ground is too wet to do much clean up yet and the trees won't bud for a bit. But the tulips are above ground now.

:cloud9:

Hiya everyone!

ugh, It is 39 here, raining and balmy;) So far no snow. :worship: Tommorrow is TGIF. :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: But the best news: SOLD Bring on German engineering. :wizard: Having a great thursday here in Illinois. :cool1:

Hmmm, this is almost as good as a disney code?:rotfl:

mky:cutie:

Congrats MKY!!

Very COLD here too. Parts of the Field of Dreams are under a blizzard warning...hopefully not us, but snow is in the forecast. The track meet that my parents came to see the kids throw in is off:rolleyes: My heat in my room is not fixed. I just hope before next winter they do fix it:confused3 My parents made it to Joliet last night;) made it through the traffic and hopefully will get here before the weather turns bad. That is a sad, sad statement for April that's all I know!!

MKY: Congrats on selling the car. That did not take too long either. You need to celebrate.:dance3:

EE22: I can't imagine a blizzard at this point. What is going on?:confused3
Last year we never got flowers on our Cherry Blossem tree, I guess the winter was too cold or something. We did get leaves but the flowers are always so beautiful. I missed it. I am hoping we get a bloom this year but so far nothing. Hopefully your parents will make it before any snow hits. Driving in it will be a mess.

Hope everyone is well. Disney is looking less likely for us this summer. :sad2: DH says next summer but he wants a break. Try something different. I can't understand why but in order to have a happy marriage we have to give in sometimes. So that means I will be in super planning mode for 1 1/2 years. Gotta get my fix somehow!

Hi Guys !:goodvibes
Well Spring isn`t being very cooperative to some of you ...and for me....it brought me a horrible case of Broncitis this week...ICK  ...I have the most ugly cough for days now...taking antibiotics and staying in bed is not cutting it either...looks like it has to run its course I guess....GRRRRRRRR:mad:

MKY - Congrats on selling the car !!! :cool1: ... That was fast !;) WE never have any luck in the selling dept...LOL:crazy:

EE22 - I hope the bad weather holds up long enough for you to enjoy your parents visit !!:cloud9:

TP2 - By the time your next trip to the world rolls around...your gunna be the "Ultimate" Planner....hang in there pixiedust: ...time flys !!:grouphug:

Candi - sorry about your bad weather too...WE are enjoying temps in the upper 60`s this week...but alas...Im not out to enjoy it !! :sad2:

Have a GREAT weekend everyone !! :flower3:

Tomar - WOW 1000 posts  That really is incredible. I can't believe how many some have...you know who you are.....

MKY - congrats on selling the car - what do you think made you successful? Now you can wheel and deal for the best price.

You probably already know this but remember to check out car loans and financing charges before you head to the dealer so you have something to compare to. If they offer you a discount if you don't take the financing, it is best to know what it would cost you elsewhere. And - shop around for the manufacturers extended warranty before you go. You don't have to buy it at the dealership you buy the car (at least not with GMs). I found a big difference in price between dealers and that is because they make a profit by marking up the price of the warranty when they sell it to you, so each dealer will have a different price. We get a lower price outside the city here and then bargain to get the same price at the dealer I like to work with. Saved me $400+ last time.

As you can tell the dealerships don't give me a party when I show up to buy something but if they did - I would know I spent too much money.

TP2 - sorry about the delay for your trip :sad2: But good things come to those who wait. It was 2 1/2 years between visits for us and the down side was we felt we had to power tour to catch up this March. :dance3:

EE22 - we don't have snow in the forecast any longer but we have a tornado watch until mid night. My rain barrel is full!

TGIF everyone.

Hiya everyone,

Its cold here and raining. Already enjoying;) the wonders of being carless. Went to work 1 hr early today, so could ride with bug. :confused3 That was fun. I told her Ok, it is 5 am here when I got up and so that is 6am at wdw and about time, to start stirring there.:thumbsup2 We thought about going out tonight, but my asthma decided to kick, cold>warm > to cold again just became a mucous factory.:confused3 So resting, will probably go look tommorrow, and check out the cars.

Candi, yes your right, but I prefer to go through my credit union. So I am already set and approved > so just looking at the car. Now, we have never done the extended warranty, but was considering it. I am guessing very expensive? Probably depends about how long you want it etc.. . I read it is very expensive to get work on the vw, the warranty is 4yrs so thinking about it.

Watching Samantha Brown's best of disney fav's, on travel channel. Giving the usual tips: fastpass, parades, etc.. . Showing some of disneyland. We haven't been to disneyland since 95' (or anywhere else than disneyworld too [for a regular vacation]). Hmmmm that's an idea.

Tomar 1000! WTG! and congrat's. Hope your feeling better. Take care of this, you might be prone more now, after last year, so please watch yourself. Have some chicken soup.:wizard: Push fluids > see your doctor.

EE22, Yes thanks, we got your great weather. As your parents probably told you. It is dark and gloomy, cold. Hope your having a great visit with your family, kids get a mini vacation, (even thou they would probably rather do the sports).:wizard:

Well, hope everyone has a great weekend.:dance3: mky:cutie:

Hi MKY - hope you are feeling better soon as well.

As for the warranty - with so many electronics in the cars now, you should always consider it. I had a dark area on my console (one would assume it was a bulb) but they had to replace the entire unit panel since it came as one piece. :scared1: Good thing I had the coverage.

Here is what I do. How long do you intend to own the car? If it is only until the manufacturers warranty runs out - don't buy the extended. Figure out how many miles you drive a year. Since I don't drive a lot of miles, I look for the warranty that is the "normal" amount of miles but allows me an extra year to use them. So the average warranty here is 5 years or 100,000 KM (same as 60,000 miles). For only a couple hundred more I can get 6 years 100,000KM with no deductable. Don't get a deductable because it causes you to try and "wait" for other things to go wrong - which is really weird.

VW offers a better warranty than GM does so it might be enough for you. Also, I am not sure of the difference between the US and Canada but to cover the car for a bumper to bumper/no deductable warranty for 6 years from the original in service date - I paid about $1600. One wheel bearing on my car is $500 for the part. I more than saved the $$ on my last car.

Good luck with the hunting!

:surfweb: :laundy: :surfweb:

Hey Guys !...thank you to everyone for the well wishes on my ongoing Broncial infection !! ICK !!
Im feeling better today...hope I can get out soon in the Spring air !! Of course It had to be 72 degrees here today...probably because I have to be in the house !! GRRRR :headache: LOL

Hi Everyone

Tomar and MKY: Hoping that I am not going to have kids with the same thing. I always worry about dd3 with this stuff. I guess this is the time of year, change of seasons. Hope you both feel better.

MKY: Congrats on the new car. We were talked into the 7 year extended warranty on the Toyota Sienna we purchased last year. It is also bumper to bumper but I have a feeling we will never need it. We got 0% financing through the dealer so we figured we were still ahead. My dads friend manages the dealership where we bought the car and we paid $750 for the warranty. I realize now that he really did give us a good deal.

Candi: Love hearing the in's and out's of the auto industry.:surfweb: We tend to hold onto our cars until we have to buy a new one. Love to not have a car payment.

Waiting until next summer is going to be hard. DD3 keeps talking about Splash Mountain and how she wants me to take her on. DH thinks I am funneling all my Disney energy to her. I try very hard to not talk shop with the kids. It would be like buying ice cream and not letting them eat it.

EE22: Hope your weekend with your parents is going well. Maybe the weather held out and they got to see the kids play. I am sure either way it made for a nice weekend.

Hiya everyone!:wizard:

Yes, I am feeling much better. The secret to asthma = EARLY intervention & vigulance (wish i had spell checker). Stayed in friday and rested and by sat. much improved. Only probably is the side effects of all the asthma drugs. You are sooooooooooooo hyper and hungery. I need something else to make me eat.:confused3

Well, bought my car on Sat. The triple white vw beetle SE. Very happy. Think we did an ok deal. Honestly, I was so tired of sales calls, emails, and talking with them all > We went back to the original guy and took the original deal. So far, did not buy the extra coverage. I read some VW forums > and 1/2 are it is unreliable & everything falls apart = sell it before regular warranty runs out. To the other 1/2 Love it & never get / need work done.:confused3 So maybe I will wait and decide. I know no one that has one. At least being single I can filp cars without anyone else's opionion. DS (bug) has dibs to buy it from me already. With the credit union closed on weekend, I did not take the car yet. just the down payment. Will try to get all the paper tommorrow after work and get up there after that.

Thanks Candi for all your vast knowledge! You are a great resourse. How are you doing with TGMike?

Tomar, glad your feeling better. Yes, you will be in time for our icky weather.

EE22, Hope you had a great visit. :grouphug:

TP2, tell him (dh) it is osmosis! and in her genes. Whatever you do it will be special. Just makes the excitement better when you skip a year or season.:wizard: I thought last year max would just expect to go with us > but by not going, he seems so much more thrilled. Not taking it for-granted.

Happy Sunday the weekend is winding down. :upsidedow :sad2: :scared:

mky:cutie:

MKY - congrats on finding a car. You can usually buy the extended warranty any time before the original runs out, it just costs a bit more later. If you have a problematic car - you can get it later.

I think what you are reading is very close to the truth about any car. You either get one that is fantastic or one that needs a ton of things.

I am a bit disappointed that some of the information on TGM is out of date. They still talk about the old photo receipts and picking up your pictures before you go home and not the photopass (few years old now). Also, AKV is not on the resort list for the DVC rooms.

But I am learning a lot about how to navigate the parks. I just wish I could find someone to come with me in July or the "fastpass volunteer" will have to be no one since the kids won't want me to take off and leave them to pick up fast passes - even with walkie talkies. popcorn::

But since we are making so many trips this year, it might not matter that much.

TP2 - I know what you mean about leaving some time between stays. We went twice in 2003 and then by 2005 we were really ready to go back. But 2.5 years until our last trip was too long. We had the "must do everything" feeling all over again.

EE22 - how did the visit go? Did everyone enjoy spending time together even though they did not compete?

I hope everyone is feeling better soon. :cheer2:

MKY - have you heard about the idea of sharing a photopass? I have learned that you can add more than one photopass to an account. I guess a lot of people do this.

If you add the different photopass numbers on different days, it adds the pictures to the end so keep them organized by person. Then each person updates the ones they want to. When everyone is done, they order the CD and send the copies to each person who has "joined" and then they send the copies onto everyone.

Any interest in trying this in July?

You have 30 days for the date of issue of the pass to register it online then 30 days from the date of registering to order anything you want.

Hiya everyone!

Yes, I read about that photopass share idea. But we are probably going to late to share with you guys. We also don't take that many pictures. We took more pictures last year for the xmas stuff. This year will only be pic's of max.

Max, saw the bug (car) last nite and said "are we still able to go to wdw"? He was worried I could not afford both.:) He is tooooooooooo sweet. Then he asked about the plane. Which one? Will we get stuck on it? Cancelled? All this in about a 10 minute visit, showing the car. He watches too much tv.:wizard:

Candi, I agree about TGM. We probably know as much as he does. :confused3 But, its nice to have a second opionion about / days rides/ resorts, etc................. Good luck, in your search for a partner. I can't get anyone time off, sorry.;) Maybe an older neice / nephew?

We did pick up the car last nite. I went with the extended service, but skipped the spare key & road side stuff. We are already AAA (for disney discounts;) ) TP2, Yes:banana: You got an exceptional deal on your extended contract.

Hope, everyone is getting over there spring illnesses. Sometime, the spring ones are worse.

Happy Planning, mky:cutie:

Gee MKY - I am disappointed that you can't get more time off too....:rotfl:

I have invited my nephew to come. He is 19 now so that would work okay. He just has to figure out if he can afford to come with me. Plus my 2DDs might drive him crazy so he has to consider it.

Max sounds like a sweet kid - must be good genetics! :goodvibes

Take your vitamins everyone!

I just had a look at my count down and realized I only have 88 days left before we leave for the AKV in July!

:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Hi All...we had a nice visit even though the kids didn't compete. Weather was very cold until Sunday and then it was sunny, but still cold. We went out throwing with winter coats on.

Last night was AWESOME!!
DS took 3rd in JV discus and 3th in Varsity Discus:woohoo: :woohoo:
DD took 7th in varsity shot and 1st in Varsity Discus:woohoo: :woohoo:

We'll be breaking the 70 day barrier very soon:banana:
