June, July, August PLANNING thread

Thanks for the pixie dust. She is getting better but she is still pretty sick.

The doctors said she could go but it is going to be a very hard flight for her.

I will dose her up with pain medicine and decongestants and hope it is not too painful for her ears.

She loves to chew a ton of gum all at once, which I never let her do, but I am prepared to give her a bunch if she is in pain and it might help. Also, they say nasal spray works really well - the flight crew use it when they are sick - so I am bringing some of that as well.

I am off to Detroit tomorrow and then we fly out Saturday morning.

With the storm coming this way, I am hoping the timing works well for us since we leave very early....as each flight gets delayed a bit they start to get backed up.

MKY - currently they are expecting storms in Orlando from now until about the time we touch down. I will take notes each day for you.

Best wishes Candi!!!! I'm sure you're excited, but probably ready to just get on the plane at this point! I hope all the flight stuff goes well for you ........ and I hope DD9 is feeling MUCH better today ........ I'm sure a visit with Mickey will make her all better!

We only have 28 days to Hilton Head! We're quite excited. I was out with some work friends the other night and met a new couple who live in Charleston. They have a "duck camp" near the HHI resort and are very familiar with the area. I think they might come over for the long weekend while we're there so we can all hang out! Another friend who lives in Dallas (TX) might come too if she & her husband can get it worked out. Hopefully they will ......... it would be cool to have friends on vacation. We've never done that before.

Tomar -- I know you are counting down for the Princess!!! I remember when I was a little girl, my grandmother would always take us shopping & buy my Easter dress every year. She always wanted to make sure I had a new pretty dress for Easter Sunday! It's a fond memory ...... I hope you enjoy your time with her! Just be sure to take LOTS of pictures ..... and share them with us!!!

Well, I'm working from home on a rainy Friday ...... guess I'll go get some work done now ......

Mouseaddicts- thank you , I am counting down the days 12 to be exact !! ....I can`t wait for her visit ....We`re going to buy her little crocs this weekend to go with the rompers of "Marie" and "Minnie" I got a while back....our DS and DDIL have already bought her Easter outfit and Bonnet So Gram-ma and Gram-pa have the pleasure of buying what ever else ....LOL ... We have the Easter Bunny at our local mall too... We`d like to take her to see as well !! (Prelude to her first Disney trip ....hopefully next year !! )

Baby crocs ........ too cute!!!


Well ....... y'all have passed your sick germs to our house! DD10 started running a fever last night .... gave her meds & she got okay. Woke up with a low grade temp again today, so DH said she should stay home from school. After my shower, I went out to check on her and noticed a few red bumps on her forehead & neck .... so, I checked her back - more red bumps. Of course, I decided we needed to see the doc ASAP ...... We were there when the doors opened @ 8:00 AM today ....... you guessed it ....... CHICKEN POX!!!

How does this happen?!?!? I swear she got the shot! My doc even checked in the computer & verified it this AM. I know it's not a guarantee ... but come on ..... how many kids to you REALLY hear of these days with chicken pox?!? Not you MKY, you don't count!

Anyway ..... I worked from home today & will do so again tomorrow. Hopefully my mom can watch her Wednesday b/c I will really need to go to the office by then! I typically work from home Tues/Thurs, so I can keep her on Thurs if she's still out of school - which it appears she will be!

Wish us luck that DS8 doesn't develop a case of the pox in 10-14 days!

Hiya Everyone!

Wow, I missed a lot. Sorry. Had a very bad weekend at work. Think of the worse possible thing > and that is what went down. So still recovering here. Somedays I really hate my job.

Now, I was watching the travel channel > Vacation home search. It is a show about buying a vacation home but of course on the show they are all about 300,000+ Just a thought, Sis and I said now that would be a good idea. If you owned a vacation home, are you a "florida resident"? You have an address in florida? Hmmmmm, then when we move, we are all ready in?

Candi, Sorry I missed you, Still hope your trip is great. My guess: flu? It is rampant here. All with fever and cough etc... . Hope your daughter is feeling better. Have a great time.

TP2, flowers for you DD. She is too young to have those kind of problems.

Tomar, Your princess is packing for you. Get ready.

EE22, is it spring yet?

My inserts are better, I found wear them 1 day and off 1 day. So doing a little better. finally.

Thinking, i need a quicky weekend here maybe chicago? hmmmm, think i will check into that.

Mouseaddicts- I hate to say this to you...but...honestly....I recieved the Pneumonia shot ....which is supposed to last for 4 or 5 years ...and last winter I got.....you guessed it....Pneumonia ! I told the Doc I wanted a refund !! ....LOL...these things do happen though what can you do ...especially when the kids are exposed to others at school who have had... or are carrying the virus....Im sooo sorry that DD has come down with the Chicken Pox...but odds are that your other DD will too....my boys got it back to back....
Hang in there.....and use alot of "Aveno" products...Hypoallergetic and anti-itch......

Mouseaddicts, there is a product that helps reduce the severity of chicken pox. My kids both took it when they had theirs.

My heater is broken in my classroom. They came to fix it and now it doesn't work at all It's been very cold so MKY, I sure hope spring is coming. 50's this week should help. It was 52 when I went in yesterday

I'm buried at work and at home. Too much to do and not enough hours in the day and next week...track meets start. Indoor and then an outdoor on the 28th...if the snow clears.

Tomar...not long till PP comes as my spring break starts on Sat.

Mouseaddicts: So sorry about the chicken pox. How long until you go again? I know you have something coming up. Hopefully all will be clear by then.

Mky: I understand what happened at work this weekend. I think you need the flowers. My neighbor had a situation with her 3 year old and she was so taken back by how the staff reacted to their situation. You are still human no matter how often you have to deal with it. Sorry...I could never do your job, definately takes a special person.

And thanks for the well wishes for DD9. She is doing much better this week so either it is hormones or some crazy virus. Time will tell of course.

EE22: You need a good shot of rain and all that snow will be gone. I am glad to hear it is no longer freezing there. Hopefully they fixed your heat.

Tomar: Is the princess coming this weekend or next week. The schools all have different breaks this year so things are a bit nuts. I know you are going to treasure your time with her.

Have my sisters shower on Sunday. We invited about 70 and have 43 coming. I guess with it being Palm Sunday and the day before St Pattys, we still have a decent turnout.

Got cancelled from work today, so that is fine. 2 days off togther is such a luxury.

TP2, Yes, (your right) I could use the flowers too. Good news if EE22, is correct things should start stabilizing at work and slow down till next september when school starts and mixes all the bugs up again. Fingers crossed. Have a great Shower! for good weather!

Mouseaddict's, Chicken pox! Hopefully only 1 will get them. Sis and I where at MK once, and she said "this big kid behind me has the worse acne I have ever seen." I looked at this poor sole about 16 yr (in july) in a grey sweat suit with the hood up and tied > with just his face showing. I said " he doesn't have acne its chicken pox" . Mom, told me we didn't know what to do, we got here and he broke out. I thought if this gets out a stampied would occur. Seriously, thou: alot of info is now coming out how immunity's sometime last and sometimes don't? So I have actually been immunized 3 extra times for meales and Sis broke out in chicken pox twice. They said she must of had a very mild case for #1 and so her immuinity wasn't strong enough. Just remember that "shingells" are a possibilty for older people / and adults exposed to her (with no immunity).

EE22, thanks for the beautiful 50+ weather today. yes, everything here is melted and ground is saturated, but sunshine wonderful. Can I send you some firewood? We are planning on going to chicago on friday nite and stay over. Will say hi, to the walnut room for you.

Hiya everyone,

We are back from our chicago weekend. It was nice to get away. But, timing was a bit off. This was St. Patrick's weekend, and one large party. Every 21 year old in the state was there drinking. But we saw the river dyed green & the st. pat's parade. 50's but overcast with a little sun.

Found that I am down to the 130's (day). Guess, I should be considering airfare?

Tomar, 1 week till Easter! Princess is getting closer.

Candi, hope your having a great trip.

EE22, Have you thawed out yet? Hope the heater is working.

Hi everyone.

Well we got home very late last night.

It was a good trip - not the best trip - but with sick kids in tow , it was about what I expected.

Well MKY - I think you will really enjoy the weather in March. It was cool but I think you wore shorts your last trip and it was not overly warm then.

I will share my photopass shots with you.

We had a couple of beautiful evenings that did not require jackets, we had a couple that I wished I had my not too heavy winter coat for. The last day was getting up to 84 degrees and would have been a nice hot day.

The weather was low in the evening around 45 up to 5+ and the highs were around 68-75 degrees for most days. It rained all afternoon on Friday and with the wind it was pretty cold. But the sun was nice and warm but what is with the air conditioning running full blast when it is only 65 degrees outside?

Have to work tomorrow, so I will write more later. Candi

I hope your trip went okay Candi.

TP2...I hope your shower went well too. They cannot fix my heat I'm so angry about that...you have no idea. 4 weeks to get parts so I guess I'll hope they get it fixed by next winter. The guy who came to fix it...broke it completely...before at least I had some hot air blowing and now I have NONE!! It's only about 55 when I go in and warms to about 65 by the afternoon. It's still pretty cold her and it will be really cold when we come back from spring break.

Tomar...PP day is coming SOON!!

MKY: Green river? wow. I am glad you got away. The snow here is almost gone, but what a mess this winter left behind. Our roads are trashed. Holes everywhere in the streets and loads of sand in our yard. Piles of it on the side...not fun to rake either.

PixieDust32, not sure which discount you are asking about. Generally any public code is announced a month or 2 before the dates. AP rates are announced maybe a month out. Mailed codes can be anything. If bookings are down (which they are not), the code could be months out, or could be a last minute deal. All these factors really depend on bookings. Happy hunting.

For those of you going the end of august that this may work for just sharing some news and hoping it happens in august ! On a website called www touring plans.com they have announced that they have heard from multiple sources inside and outside of disney that free dining will be offered as of April10th! It did state that it is only a rumor and not yet confirmed! But it is a good rumor!!! And I'm hoping disney is kind enough if it is true to at least offer for the last week or two of august! I really can't go in Sept but will try if it is only Sept! We're definitely going either way and would really love for Free Dining as a gift to me! LOL! Just thought I'd share with those of you who my need this info what I read on another thread posted by another DISER and did check it out and see it for my own eyes!!!

Hi All!

MKY...no place to relocate to....all the rooms are used so I'd have to change rooms each class period. It's been cold in there since Jan when we went into the deep freeze but they said that it was working. NOT!! Typical. The guy who came to fix it broke it completely. I know I'll probably be without heat now for years. I'll be lucky if they fix it...EVER.

DD had an indoor track meet yesterday and DS has one today. It snowed here in the morning at least it warmed up enough that the afternoon rain was only rain. The bus blew a tire north of the school and it was sitting on the axle when we went to pick her up in the pouring rain. The bus driver was amazing to be able to control the bus in those conditions.

Outdoor meet next Friday and it's still really COLD here

TP2...you'd love that free dining if the rumor is true.
