June, July, August PLANNING thread

Well the deadline passed to book the Dolphin at the discounted rate and no pixie dust for me. I thought for sure it was going to be our family gift for Valentines Day. DH says there will be another trip someday but not this summer. He wants something else. I started a thread to get some other ideas. So far San Diego, Pigeon Forge, Orlando, and a cruise are the ideas. I keep checking prices but they seem so high after 2 weeks in Disney for a family of 5. I will keep plugging away and try to remember that our first trip to Disney was not easy to plan either. It took awhile to learn my way around all the codes and all.

EE22: Hope you get out of the deep freeze soon. We had problems with our boiler for the last 2 weeks so I can totally feel your pain. Wound up costing us over $450 but at least it is fixed now.

MKY and Tomar: So glad you have a trip to plan. Enjoy making all of those ADR's.

Hi Guys !!!!:flower3:
I went back to the Doctor on tuesday...and here I am...back on the nebulizer for 2 more weeks. ..Im praying that this does the trick...or I have to go for x-rays next....Yikes !:scared1: We had a viscious ice storm this week, that left us with no power for 15 hours.:cold: The last part of this winter is not being very cooperative..:rolleyes1

TP2- Im just going to keep thinking happy toughts for you...and hoping that you get a great deal !!!:wizard: Sorry about your boiler....when it rains it pours all right::sad2:

MKY- Start picking out all those yummy restaurants !!!!!:goodvibes One more day for calling in your ADRS !!!!! WHOOO HOOO !!!:woohoo:

EE22- hope it`s starting to get alittle warmer in your neck of the woods:sunny:

Mouseadicts- How`s your planning coming along !!! Did you call in your ADR`s yet?:goodvibes

I finally got to the 180 day mark and made our ADR's and DH let me book another day. YAY... Come on August!

I just got my confirmation today for 8/26 - 9/1 at AS Mu. It's me and DS 12. Can't wait. I am going to Colorad to ski over spring break, but I am far more excited to go to Disney. What is wrong with me?????? :confused3

Hiya everyone!

Well we finally got our heat wave! over 33 degrees today. Where are more shorts and mickey t-shirts? Snow is even started to melt.

Tomar, Hope your starting to feel better. Drink lots of fluids. They liquify your secretions and makes you get better sooner.

EE22, thanks for the warmer weather. :cool2:

:hourglass I called today finally for our adr's in august and got everything we wanted. I also then tried to get the AAA code for nov /dec once again but still nothing? So we switched back to the Poly (big sacrifice?) gv. Got the AAA discount there. So now for n /d we are coronado springs 3 nites (still regular season) & poly for 14 nites (value season). She even asked for the AAA card. That was a first. I have had AAA rates for years and never asked till check in.

Now all we need is ap discounts. popcorn:: Happy planning!:cutie:

Looks like June will be skipped for AP rates again this year. Guess they don't need anyone's AP business during that month.

Tomar: So sorry to hear you are still sick. I hope you get better again soon. We also had the ice storm here but luckily we did not lose power. 15 hours with no power is terrible. I hope you were able to get to stay with family instead of sticking it out.

MKY: So happy to hear you are planning for your next trips. I will have to live out my Disney dreams through you and Tomar.

we are in the ice storm warning too.. thankfully we didn't lose power. When we lost it 2 years ago.. we had no power for 7 days.. and I had pneumonia.. it stunk! The whole city was out for about 4 days.... at least residential. and we were in the last 3% to have our power turned back on.. lol After surviving that.. this was nothing.. plus we were better prepared.

WOW... sounds like my senario !:scared: I`ve been coming back from pneumonia for weeks now (as we speak I feel much better though)..but I had it full forse when we had our power outage a couple of weeks ago! ICK

TP2- AWE....thank you for asking:goodvibes ...Im feeling much better...but let`s see if the Doc thinks so tuesday:rolleyes1

MKY- thank you for the advice...Ive been drinking so much water...I feel like Im floating...but I know it helps !!!;)

Well.... I just looked at my countdown....and it says... we`ve just gotten into the 4th month !!!!! YAAY !!!!!!

Yuck! I'm sorry to hear your going through that... but I can say I know how you feel! lol I'm glad your feeling better now though! I hate going without power for that long. Not only is it cold, it's really boring! Luckily when that happened.. I was working full time.. so most of the days I was working.. besides the 3 days I was off due to the pneumonia.. but we had heat and lights and hot meals.. so it was good. I think we ate out more than we've ever eaten out in one week.

Well anyway, I'm glad your getting better!!

I can`t wait for the summer !!!!!:sunny:

Hiya everyone!:surfweb:

Tomar glad your feeling better hope you get good news on your md visit!

Look out you east coast guys, we are sending out more ice and snow:eek: We got nailed with ice last nite and it is snowing again today like crazy. O'hare is way delayed, people on tv talking about getting out on tuesday from yesterday? :scared1:

EE22, that terrible about June. You really think they will totally skip it again? No one will plan on June with an ap if they go 2 years in a row.

TP2, You feel free to plan with me, let me know if I should try out something for you.

Glad everyone is having fun planning. We are looking into airfare and then the rental car planning. Anyone ever fly, on the day before thanksgiving? :scared2: We are thinking about that, but out of ohare? Yikees.

Have a great week, mky!:cutie:

Howdy,
Well, Iowa isn't doing so great right now. We have power which is wonderful but there are still many without power here. No :happytv: and :surfweb: leaves the modern person rather bored. They are saying Sunday before some will have power again. I guess some towers went down. :grouphug: we did this on Sat night while we listend to DS's battery operated Donald Duck radio for 5 hours and bailed water from the sump pump pit with no electricity. DH didn't think the storm would be that bad so didn't buy a new back up battery:sad2: I won't soon let him forget that mistake;) I'm ready to go back to work...we are out Tuesday as well. I need to teach some math:teacher:

MKY: I think they will skip June. Those 40% off email offers I believe skipped them as well. Not sure what we'll do when we go back hopefully in 09.

Hi everybody, i'm new to the thread but am so excited about going back in August, trying POFQ for the first time, was there last August in the Poly, so not quite on the same level but I'm sure I'll be happy anywhere as long as i am at the World. I'm also bringing 2 newbie friends with me this time, as i will be celebrating my birthday and i wanted my best friends to be with me. I made all my ADRs and got everything i wanted, trying LTT and biergarten for the first time, as well as some tried and tested favs like raglan road, ohana, crystal palace, mama melrose etc.
BTW, anyone thats interested in a little party, i am hosting a meet at the Adventurers Club on 8/24, about 9pm. Anyway happy planning to all, and good health to all (sounds like some of you could do with a little:wizard: right now to get well.

Tomar: So hope you are finally feeling better. It has been a really long time. The weather is clearing so hopefully it will help.

Hey everyone: Anyone have a suggestion for a family oriented, budget family vacation. We have those Southwest vouchers so I would love to use them before they expire at the end of August but DH really does not want to go to Disney again this year. He wants to try something different. I would love a resort or some place with a great pool. I even suggested stayed at a Disney hotel but skipping the parks, no go here. But I love the Disney properties. Would love to find something like it just somewhere else. I appreciate anything you guys come up with.

:surfweb: Hi everyone!

Wow, we are having a heat wave today! 38!!! Some snow even melted. Everyone is town walking around in the sunshine in sweatshirts, Put the parka away!

Well, planning info: We made our airline ressies for both trips today. I would normally not buy both now, but due to flying day before thanksgiving (:scared1: Yikees) we booked. Didn't want the prices to rise. Car prices are another subject. Still running pretty high. Will have to keep checking. I am looking for a good code for National, if you guys have any help? I used all the ones Listed on Mousesavers, but found so far the AAA one is the best. Bummer; costco does not have a code for national?

Well hope everyone has a great week.

My best guess: Universal studios orlando? They have a great deal going this summer. If you can control yourself and stay out of disney? OR What about disneyland? Or a disney cruise and beach stay (vero beach dvc)? Disney Hilton Head? Yikees, I probably am not much help. Only other places we have been are Las Vegas myrtle beach, & hawaii, And all we did there was the beach / and drinking at nite. (ok, i was in my roaring 20's). :rolleyes2 We did go to Dollywood once but it rained the whole week, the smokey mountains where beauitful. What is he interested in doing? Vegging out for the week at a beach / pool? :beach: Good luck, I am sure you will find something wonderful. You already have the air tix!:)

He wants more veg out time. :beach: I was looking into the Pigeon Forge thing with Dollywood but SW does not fly into the airport. I looked at flying into another airport in Tennesee but we would have to drive 3 hours after the flight. Way too much for the kids to endure. I am now looking into Universal. The tickets seem pretty cheap. He has not said yes or no to Orlando without Disney. I can only hope. The kids are asking on a daily basis to go back. I think maybe we can sneak away for one day just to hit MK. I would not even drag him along, just go with the girls. We went skiing over our February break and all DD2 would ask was when we would go see Tigger.:tigger:
