Jumping on the summer bandwagon!!

We had 7 inches of sleet and ice (again!) a few days ago and DS who is ten is finally getting over his bronchitis. July can't come soon enough for me!!

Anyone else heading down the second week in July? We always do WDW in the summer, gluttons for punishment I guess!

Can't wait!!!!

Hi everyone !:goodvibes
Hope you guys are having a great weekend !!! thank goodness I`m doing much better ....Almost back to myself !!!! YAAY !!!!:woohoo:

MKY- How are the plans for Aug. coming along ? Did you book the P & P party yet?pirate: princess: We did some revamping of our itenerary and it seems that our first park day will be at the magic kingdom...sooo that will be the day we have to activate our Annual Passes.......Did you guys ever activate yours there?...if so...do you know ...where exactly ?

Hope everyone is enjoying the nicer weather....it`s finally Spring ! YAAY!:flower3:

Hi everyone,
He have already booked for WDW on Aug 5 through Aug 12 at Pop... We can't wait. It's the first time we go in August I hope it won't be to croweded:cool1:

I have a question for TP2 or anyone that can remember. When was free dining released last spring:confused3 I'm still watching for a friend. She is now going in August and also again either at Thanksgiving or Christmas. They need something fun in their lives.

Tomar: I know MKY will know your AP activation question:goodvibes

Tomar (hi) When we activated at MK we actually walked over to the TTC from the Poly and just did it there. But you might be able to activate right at the MK. Guest service window to the right of the MK entrance. :confused3 I would certainly think so. We got our MNSSHP tix there last October. I really try to activate at the international gateway behind Epcot thou. There is never a line and very relaxed. Last year we activated at AK, wasn't too bad there either. Once we activated at the Shopping market too. (when we stopped to eat / shop) so they would be active for the next early morning. :cutie:

No we have not gotten tix yet for PP party. Haven't checked recently, but thanks for the heads up about being on sale already. I am soooooooooo out of the loop. I was even surprised to see my counter in the 4 month zone.

 Do you guys own a "brick"? Just wondering if ours is still there. We are now way over the 10 year plan. :rolleyes1 And was still there last October. We are at the MK entrance (monorail side / turnstyle) . We have a great spot. Anybody else? Wish we could renew it somehow.

EE22, (hi) Wonderful news about you DD and school! Congrat's and good luck in April. Not sure about free dining I know it hit in August last year cause it was Packed down there last aug. . I know the aug watch thread is a buzz about free dining thoughts constantly. So that might be a place to check.

TP2, Any VAC plans yet?

Wow, it was 75 degrees here yest and today. spring has sprung. They turned the air conditioner on at the hospital. It was soooooooo hot in there. The heat had still been running. I am off tommorrow and it is supposed to rain. :sad2: Easter is just over 2 weeks.

:bday: :darth: :bday: Vader is 6 months old today. :cheer2: 65# Where is my little puppy. Now almost a moose. With a teenage atitude.:scared1:

Last year free dining was offered April 1 for Visa members and April 4 for general public.

I am catching up on all that has been going on. Something happened and I was not getting any alerts. I thought it was quiet over here. Cher...that is hysterical! I would love to see pictures.

MKY: Have no plans yet for the summer. We have been working on the house and we have DD8 communion at the end of the month. Been really busy. Glad all of your planning is going well.

Tomar: So happy to hear you are finally feeling better. I had no idea it would take that long to get over pnemonia (sp?). You lost months...that is just crazy. At least you will be better to enjoy the good weather.

WHOOO HOOO Im in the 3 months zone now !!! Just noticed my countdown !
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

MKY- ....I was trying to avoid going to the TTC...EE22- also mentioned the one guest relations window at the MK entrance, but neither of you have activated AP`s at that location...thank you for your help though...Im sure I`ll be able to find out for sure:goodvibes
If worse comes to worse...I`ll activate at the guest relations at DTD...on the day we arrive....:teeth:
I just reread the P & P Party dates again for aug.pirate: princess: ...and the tickets go on sale....June 1st...so you have time;)

Tomorrow is going to be 75 degrees here in New Jersey also :hippie: Im sooo excited that spring is finally here....the buds are opening up on our Bradford Pear Tree...in front of our house...:cloud9:

 HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT EASTER !

It`s so cold here this week...I think our Easter Bonnets will have to be:....Ear muffs !!!!

Can you believe that it is April... they just mentioned snow in the forcast. I can't stand the cold any longer.

More importantly, only 3 months out and I still have no summer vacation plans.:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: DH doesn't get it but I am going nuts that we don't have anything set yet.

Hiya everyone!:surfweb:

Happy good friday and easter! Have a great holiday!

Sorry, east coasters' we are sending more cold air.:scared1: Looks like we will have another cold week.

TP2, I still think your DH has a surprise for you. And it is probably fabulous.

Tomar, you will be at 2 months in no time.

I am getting figity that the AP rates for summer are not announced yet. The excitment is escalading. I am not real hopeful, that the CR's will be included. They sell out alot and are not always included. I do have the AAA rate but would love an ap rate.

EE22, are you planning any trips / anywhere, or will you be tied up all
summer?

Have a great holiday! mkyprincess:

Yes, us east coasters need some warm weather, dont we?:guilty:

MKY: We don't have any plans for any trips except perhaps for DS and DD to compete in some track meets which are late June and early July near Chicago. Maybe I'll get to a Disney Store. It will be a couple short weekend trips.

DS will have his wisdom teeth out in early June and then linemen camp around the 19th of July. I have two classes in June to renew my certificate so all of June is gone already and most the July is chewed up as well. I thought perhaps DD might be able to take driver's ed during the spring, but it was really tough on DS to take it during the year so I think next summer will be driver's ed for her. Too bad really...air fare is super cheap and they are flying 3 days per week. I was pulling for summer of 08, but it's not looking good at this point.

There are no ap rates anyway:scared1: doing that two summers in a row would be very pricey for us. I'll wait till I get my "come back" rate:rotfl: When we don't go till 09 perhaps they will beg us to come back.:thumbsup2

It seems that the codes for this summer are following last year as free dining is suppose to hit on Monday. I wish you all luck with that.

I hope you all have a Happy Easter. It's COLD here still. My plants that came up already are pretty much dead. :sad1:

ps...I have to venture to "The Field of Dreams" too this summer. I promised Tomar I'd take pictures of it so I'll send them to you. It's where they filmed the movie. It's not too far from here. It's in Dyersville, IA. It's also where they make Ertle toys. Neat little town.

Hiya everyone!

No free dining here. It hits our 2nd week, and with working it out for the 2 of us and at the CR just is no savings. Will stick with my lowly AAA rate and keep hoping for an ap rate. But I think the aaa might be it. :scared1:
I really wish it would not of hit, cause it got busy last year when it was going on.

EE22, you are going to be busy! Don't forget to wave at us on 55 or 80!;) I haven't been to the disney store either. Last time we went it was all KIDS stuff??????????? I just don't understand.:confused3 :dance3: ;) EE22 as a teacher, how do you feel about kids missing school for disney? Does it happen often.

Hope everyone had a happy holiday / Easter.:wizard:

I have kids miss school all the time. I'm not a big fan, however, I know that it's going to happen. My reaction depends on the grade of the student and the quality of the student. Good students recover and their grades don't suffer in high school. Poor students...it usually does them in.:scared1: I also should react as a parent. My kids would freak if I took them out of school. We are on modified block at our school so some classes are block and some are not. I teach math in a regular class. When a student misses a week of a block class, they are missing two weeks. It was stressful DS to go to WDW over winter break with finals right afterwards. He had homework over break and also a project.

I can't ever go except on school breaks so I would never be tempted. Depending on the student, it can be very, very stressful. I personally don't think kids should be taken out of high school unless there is a good reason....more so than free dining at WDW :rotfl: or airfares are better a week before spring break.

That's my two cents. It's really a very personal choice and it really should be up to the parents involved. But, I believe the parents should ask the kids what they think:)

There is something wrong with April 10th and being under a winter storm warning. This is just nuts!! I just returned from DS's track meet and I had on cold gear under armour, ear muffs, winter coat, gloves, scarf and was wrapped in a blanket. It's colder now than it was in December!!!:scared1:

Hiya everyone!

Yes, EE22, that is how we where raised too. We had to be dying going on dead before I even got to stay home sick. So, time off for Vac. was pretty much not even thought of. I asked because of all the people on the free dining plans, just taking off school without a problem. I was surprised. Trust me, I would of loved to when I was in school, but it nevered happened.
I know school is pretty strict around here too as to how much your allowed to miss.

I know what you mean about this weather. I had to scape my car windows this am. It snowed here yesterday, but didn't stick. You better not be sending anymore snow. Just keep that over in Iowa. It is good for the crops.:thumbsup2

Well have a great nite, and bundle up!:rolleyes1 mky:rolleyes1 :wizard:

Hey guys: DH would never take off being a teacher from school. He thinks it is one of the biggest sins. As for taking the kids out, it pretty much follows suit. My SIL wants to take them after Thanksgiving and pull the kids out for a few days. I know he will never go for it. My kids are only 2nd grade and kindergarten, forget high school.

We still have all of the cold here as well. I feel like the seasons are just shifting a bit. The warm weather is coming later on in the year but is staying warmer until later in the year.

Did anyone see Meet the Robinsons. I needed a fix and took the girls yesterday. I loved it.
