Tomar@ssr: I thought about what you said and I took the bull by the horns. I cancelled July (anyone wanting AKL standard there are now rooms)! I sent my DS an e-mail and said we are going August 15, hope you can make it. That is it, we are done. All of my ADRs are made, all I need now is a Ding for our flight. :Pinkbounc
I am soo Happy that you finally did that TP2-
For a moment today, I thought about you calling up for the July AP Rate that we`ve been waiting for  . But you stuck to you guns and NOW, Finally, all the FUN stuff can happen :woohoo: Good for yu :thumbsup2
And, if you read my other post, I was able to get an AP Discount after all :teeth: Sooooo, I`m happy for ME TOO ! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2:
ok, ok, back to packing..... :goodvibes

What dates did you cancel for standard AKL?

My heart broke today for you when I saw that AKL wasn't included for the ap rates. I'd keep trying to go down to a more affordable room too for your stay. I'll think happy thoughts for you!! The other thread you started turned rather ugly at times and I felt bad for you.

TP2> Glad you are working out your grand gathering ;)

Eeyorelover22> Congrat's to your children! What a proud mama you are. :wizard:

Tomar@ssr > We got the deal too this morning. Took yc and switched back to bc. Not sure if I want closer to epcot or full balcony??? :rolleyes1 I changed from 8+10 days at (aaa) poly to 10 bc + 8 (aaa) poly. Saving over $900.00. WOW. That was worth getting up early for the last month and half. :cheer2:

That was a close mix up this morning thou. I got right through, and asked the standard, any change in ap rates ? anything past june 3rd date yet? and told immediately "no" not yet, we are still waiting" > so I did post that. Thank god for tdmathers and his cm! I had already hung up and thought, Call back! So I did. I did ask my 2nd cm, why I was told "no" already and she said it was not immediately in computer when they turned on. It came up a few seconds later and if they checked too early (before we called) then the cm would have missed the change. I really felt bad, like I deliberately told people "no" when in fact my cm was incorrect. I am so glad I still had my computer on, and had not shut off right away to finish getting ready for work. Just glad the correct word did get out. Looked like I was not alone either by being told "no".

I called tonight and changed around some dining plans. Will do more epcot / mgm during that leg of trip, now that we are at bc.

Anyone know if they give you a regular fridge at bc? I know last time we where there we had a "mini bar". Which I hate to take the key, we are the family that always gets the missing items charged to us, and we never go in there.

Have a great nite. And we get to sleep in tommorrow!!! :grouphug: Happy planning. ( bad storm here tonight and didn't have power for 3 hours.)

Well, now that we've gotten our AP rate applied for July 5-9, I can get caught up on this thread! :cool1: We're doing BWI for the last 4 nights with the discount. Our 1st three nights are @ CR with AAA. We're saving over $600 combined for the week, so I'm feelin' pretty good about it! :goodvibes

So glad you got most  of what you needed. You will have a wonderful trip. I stayed at the YC with work and it is really wonderful to be in the Epcot area. You just feel like you are totally immersed in the fun. We have been trying to keep our rate in the under $150 range with that really being our top price. When DH heard YC for $189 his wheels starting turning. I couldn't believe it. Anyway, we are booked now at CSR with ADRs and everything for August so we are not changing. I will say that I remember changing resorts during my YC trip from YC to POFQ and couldn't believe how disappointed we both were. Not as much magic over there.

Thanks for the support! I saw the "YES YES YES!" post right away after mky heard "no" from a CM, so I called to double check. When I asked if any codes had been released for our dates (7/7-7/15) he asked, "Where are you staying?" Hmmmm...
:confused3
I told him, and he said "Nope, no codes." Then I asked were there any codes and he told me about the Epcot resorts. I hung up and checked with my DH and DS and they were willing to switch for 4 nights to BWI, although we've never stayed at any of the Epcot resorts. After doing the math, we'd save about $200 switching from AKL to BWI, but we absolutely LOVE AKL!
When we booked our ressies only 3 months in advance, the most affordable room available at WL at rack OR AAA rate was Courtyard and it was Savannah at AKL. We're booked for those at AAA rate, but I'm hoping that maybe some people will drop their Standard, Woods ar Water View rooms to move to one of the Epcot resorts and that will free it up for us to downgrade rooms to something a little more affordable. My DH is freaking out about the cost, since we paid around $100 per night for a Standard room at AKL in Feb 2004. The problem is, I have to keep calling back to check on any new rooms opening up and I don't know how often to call! I called this morning and the CM was VERY nice. He said there was nothing today, but to keep trying; things open up.
:goodvibes
Glad to hear so many people were able to take advantage of the codes. I feel for the June trips and those who don't even have AAA rates. I guess I'll start praying for a DING code to bring down our airline tickets. (Not likely since we have to fly Friday-Saturday!) Hey...at least we're going to Disney!

That would be me...no ap rates in June and no AAA rates either for my room category either.

EEyorelover22- When the Ap rate became known to all of us yesterday, and I knew It was from July 5th, (and only certain deluxes) the first person I thought of was you. You have been diligently waiting from back in feb., and I am truly sorry that you couldn`t take advantage of any AP discount this time around either :grouphug:
having said that, I hope that your trip is the most magical :wizard: and you have the BEST time, regardless !!!! And, from reading your posts, I KNOW YOU, AND YOUR FAMILY WILL!!!!! :goodvibes :Pinkbounc

You're too sweet. Yup, I waited a longggggggggg time. I started watching the April/May/June thread back at the beginning of Feb! I really knew back then that I was out of luck due to the fact that the seasons change 7/4. I also meant what I said too when diaster struck one of my co-workers. I'm glad that my family is happy and healthy and we're going to Disney. There are a lot of families that are not as blessed as mine. Mickey ran off with another grand of my money, but there are worse things. The doctors could have run off with it instead. I lost a good friend in December as well so given how strange the year has been, I feel lucky for what I have at the moment. We will have a wonderful time that's for sure. I did get DH to commit to December too since it's our last time for that time of year and he knows how I want to go then. It will be bitter sweet because I know it will be a long, long time before we can get back...if ever. DH isn't a big fan of WDW. He goes because he loves me. He hates leaving home for vacation. His idea of a great vacation is sitting around for two weeks at home. He needs his food and weights. That's why he will only stay at AKL. It has good quality food at Boma and a work out facility. He won't stay at the Swan where I could get a teacher's rate. Both of my kids are in sports and their schedules won't allow us to visit WDW and I cannot take time off from work during our contract time...only 2 personal days per year won't allow us to visit during non sports times. Summer is taken with driver's ed and football next year, Thanksgiving and Christmas will be taken up with basketball and spring break will be taken up by track.

We will have a wonderful time. Besides, I starting thinking...last year we did an Illuminations Cruise which we aren't doing this year and we stayed one night conceirge in order to due the sunrise safari and I saved $4-500 over last year's plane tickets. I'm only down about $150 fromlast year. I won't think about the Cirque tickets!! lol we are doing that this year and they were dark last year :rotfl: And, we did get AKL for $94 for a sav room when POFQ closed so that averages well with this year too ;)

Besides, I followed DH from Michigan to Iowa so in retirement, I WILL Be in Florida. Look for me at the gates of Magic Kingdom when I'm retired :cloud9:

Eeyorelover22- you know, you REALLY have the BEST attitude !! :goodvibes
And somehow I think that I can tell, your DH is going to someday fall in love with the magic, as I know that you have :wizard:.
"I" was always the Disney lover in our household, when the boys were young, it was the best, because they just loved going. As they got older, like you said, we didn`t go for a long time because for my teenagers, it wasn`t that "Cool" :smooth: anymore. They had sports, cars, friends, and (I was always sick to hear), better things to do with thier summers :rolleyes2
My DH lost both his parents very young ( so I hear ya, regarding putting a value on certain things).
so, now, as our boys became men, it`s coming full circle :) They ask me when are you going to WDW mom, and mabe we`ll join you, if the wives can get off from work :goodvibes
Sooooo, I believe that nothing stays the same, & God willing, it`ll change for the better!!!!!!!!
I wish you the BEST vacation EEyorelover22, YOU DESERVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

I am so happy you were able to get an AP rate. Problem I have now is that I think I am done. :sad2: I have all of my ADRs done. I just need to sit and come up with a more specific itinerary for each day but the parks and food are all planned. It is a huge weight off my shoulders though. Now all I have to do is look forward to the trip. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Very well said! :sunny: Eeyorelover22!

;) You can get a discount on those cirque tix with your ap. ;) I like how your "new math" :teacher: Your saving money on last year. ;)
I will watch for you at the MK gates, I plan to be loading the tea cups. :yay: They still haven't called me for that first aid station job??? :confused3 But I think if I truely applied for a job there they would pull up my cro file, and they would lable me as a stalker?

Thanks for all the well wishes for our trip! 36 days!! I'm impressed that I haven't packed. There's just too much going on at work and I want to enjoy the process :cool1:

I didn't get a discount on the Cirque tickets. I was out voted and they wanted CLOSE so I bought tickets as soon as we had plane tickets.

Can't wait :cheer2:

And...only 10 days left of school and 3 of those are finals!! :woohoo:

Good morning, everyone! (I miss writing that). :wizard: please release a code for the june people. :wizard: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

WOW, your done in 3 days! :cheer2: I need to get into school nursing. ;) Sis didn't like cirque last year, (she finally let me go) so we won't be doing that again. I thought it was interesting but I was someone that took acrobatic class for 10 yrs.

starting to regret the giving up the poly for part of our trip. I keep thinking, your not gonna be happy about this (splitting resort) thing. :rolleyes1 But its the smart thing to do.... First thing I thought of this morning. When I woke up.

MKY- I think that you should stick with the PLAN that yu have made :thumbsup2. Honestly It`s funny that you mentioned that this morning, I too was thinking (not of the 2 days we`ll be at BWI), but the fact that we were paying for a weekend of our SSR stay, with the DVC discount (to save using sooo many points just for a weekend, which is alot more than the weekdays). :rolleyes2
Anyway, when the AP discount came out, SSR was included, $159.00, (opposed to the $201. and change) we were paying. So I called and changed the ressie for that weekend from DVC ms, to CRO for a total of $177.including tax,. Great deal! OK, now, our ressies won`t be linked (like a continuous stay, because they were made from both ms & CRO), and I think we`ll have to check out and in again
The cm told me to speak to whoever checks us in to have them link the ressie, but thats not a given
SO, that`s it ,I`m sticking to the plan, and not thinking about it ANYMORE, and mabe, you should too ;) :goodvibes :sunny:

Tomar@ssr: Your right. I pulled up a bunch of pictures at the BC and decided it will be just fine. (will rough it at the bc and moving hassel) I did change a few dining plans and park days. Might as well do epcot & mgm more from the BC. ;) And more mk from the poly. The good news: we moved my b-day from mk's LLT to epcot's chef de france. :teeth: My fav. epcot resturant.

Your upside: CRO = housekeeping! :thumbsup2 I link my ressie's all the time. Unless cause your dvc, they are going to be uncooperative? :confused3 I bet they will do it. They would save themselves on a total cleaning / change over room, to a continuing ressie. Its the smart move. Saves housekeeping hours. ;)

MKY- :goodvibes Hope you have a Happy Birthday !! :bday:
I`ll be celebrating mine, when we arrive at the BWI.
I hope that your right about the ressies for SSR. This will be the first time I`m experiencing this sort of situation :earseek:

Awww :cloud9: thank you so much MKY- :goodvibes
Believe it or not-of all the times I`ve been to WDW, as our boys were growing- I`ve NEVER been on my B-day, this is the first time :goodvibes
Alot of Anniversarys though ;)
It seems that we`ll be traveling from our son`s home in SC, to WDW exactly on my b-day, so after checking into the BWI, we have ressies at "Flying Fish", and then we`re going to walk over to epcot for Illuminations. I`d like to think that the show will be especially for ME ;) that night!!! :goodvibes
anyway, whatever the plan, I`m Sure our B-days will be just wonderful !!!
Look where we`ll Be !!! :mickeyjum
