Hey MKY: Tell me about the spinning counters! And now with this upgrade offer, it is just killing me.

EE22: I know all about the cleaning. I go through that whenever we are having a big party. For the communion I went nuts. We threw out so much garbage people thought we were moving.

Tripplanner2, I tried to PM you back, but maybe I'm too new to the boards ? I got one of the upgrade emails, but it wasn't a 3 digit code, it was something like 12 digits. When I mentioned it to the CM when I called to upgrade, I didnt' even have to give them the code, so it must have been hard coded in the system or something.

I hope you get an email soon!!:)

I need to plan parties then because my dust bunnies are taking over!!:lmao: with no family for 600 miles I don't do it enough. I fell far behind last fall with my round of nasty migraines when I thought I was dying, being gone over Christmas and I threw out my back the beginning of May. Along with the dust bunnies, the weeds in my flower beds are doing all too well.

I have class Monday and Tuesday:teacher: . ICK:scared:

MKY: By the way...I noticed your signature. Good Grief Woman!! You've been to the Mouse House A LOT!!!!

Actually, I think it is a low estimate.:scared1: I should own most of central florida. We tried to figure it out the other day, when we changed it. We have been all over the states, (including hawawii) & some canada. But since about 83', we have gone consistantly one trip and then the second trips started about 95'. Our first trip to wdw was the first year it opened (with mom & dad). We have only been to disneyland twice 71' & 95'. I got tired of going somewhere new all the time, and spending the entire week or 2 weeks, figuring out where to go, where to eat, what to do. Never been a big beach person, we like alot of activities. (or at least the choice of having activities). Most people just don't understand it. "you can go anywhere, .... " drives us crazy. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo Yep, mickey's biggest fan. :wizard:

Thank you so much. I really do appreciate it. I guess the agent I spoke with had not booked one yet.

You poor thing. I had no idea you were so sick this year. I hope you are feeling better now.

Since I'm not going to WDW this summer...let's celebrate my 3000th post instead when I get there .party: party: party: I might make it at this rate.

Thanks TP2: the headaches last fall were BAD. I had to go on Prednisone for a week to clear up my head. The protein bars that I normally eat starting putting peanut butter in them and I didn't know it and I get nasty migraines from peanut butter. And, I developed two new intolerances for food: processed meat and splenda causing even more headaches and migraines. I was a mess. I knew I wasn't dying though as it happened to me about 3 years ago. It just took me some time to figure out what I was eating that was making me so sick. I also waited way to long to go to the doctor...I kept thinking I'd get better. I'm smarter than that.

My back: I threw it out one afternoon after DH And I scrubbed the carpet for HOURS after DD casued the collision of two bottles of RED nail polish to explode all over the carpet.:scared1: we got it out though:dance3:

I think it was really just all the math I had to do:rotfl:

EE22, why are you in class this week? Summer school? Your on Vacation. Your supposed to be on a hammock, sipping pina colada's. ;) This weird weather you sent us, is nasty. We have tornado warnings, and hail warnings all evening.

Yikees, No peanut butter for you. You really have some terrible food allergies. I didn't know splenda was causing migraines too. I knew about nutrasweet, processed meats, aged cheeses, chocolate, msg, . They really push the migraine diets at work. You have to be careful. Watch your stress levels too.

TP2, how is the puppy? Must be huge by now?

We had nasty storms today too. Ick!!

Chocolate and nutrasweet don't bother me. However, if I don't eat chocolate for a long time, it gives me migraines. I found that out one Lent when I gave it up. NEVER doing that again and I eat dark chocolate everyday for that reason. I'm helping my cancer issues too:rotfl:

Splenda doesn't give me a full blown migraine...just one nasty king size headache for days...even a small amount and Advil won't touch it.

I live on water and chocolate :rotfl:

ps...I'm in class because I have to take hours to recertify ever 4 years and I want to be done right away. I have 2 done and will get two more this month. I will be good then till 2011 when DD graduates.

Hey Guys !!!:goodvibes
Sorry I missed alot of posts here today....I finally got a great report from the Allergist...since the winter of pneumonia and broncitis I just went through !!!

Can`t wait !!!!!

TP2- I`m routing for ya...for the upgrade...either way...it will be a new experience for you though !!!pixiedust: pixiedust:

MKY- I had the same issue with Disney Dining in Jan....I could only make ressies for 10 days...then I did it day by day after that.. as in the old days ;) !!!

EE- that BAD weather better stay away from the "Field of Dreams" that`s for sure !!!!!:grouphug:

Hello all,
I'm new to this thread but it looks like you guys have some great info and ideas for summer planning.
My family (dh, me, ds9, ds6) heading down at the end of august for a stay at the poly - first time at this hotel so we are really excited. (and free dining so yum!) This is our third trip in 2 years so we're doing less park time and more pool time on this trip. We're dvc members so we'll be taking advantage of pool-hopping for a change of scenery.
We were there this past february for the princess: andpirate: party so if you have any questions feel free to ask.
I would love to hear some ideas about what to do if you aren't going to the parks everyday. (We're there from Sat - Sat and are only doing MK1day, MGM1day and Epcot1day)

mickeywho?: Welcome to the thread. We are taking a similar approach this year as far as touring. We are going to parks for 3 days and doing the P&P party. We are going to HDDR so we are planning a day around Fort Wilderness. Figure we can go to the campfire and do the wagon ride to see fireworks. Earlier in the day we are going to the petting zoo and to see the horses, pony rides. Another day we are going to rent boats and go play minature golf. We have an early dinner planned at GF and then maybe see some fireworks or something from the beach.

Welcome to the boards and enjoy planning.

Hiya everyone!:surfweb:

Those counters are all spinning!:thumbsup2 I made our last adr's for n/d trip today. Pretty much got everything we could think up. Everytime I call I get that survey thing, I don't think it is random, I think everyone gets it.:confused3 I wonder if they will change anything becuase of it. I agree, I think there is an increase in unhappy cm's, at least answering the phone.

We had a great time being away for the weekend up here. But 55 is the dulliest ride, ever. probably because the farms crops are just coming in, and not very big. Nothing to look at all.

EE22, Hope your feeling better. When you come up here this summer, do you have time, or care to visit brookfield zoo? I have free passes (zoo member) if you might be interested.

Tomar, You should be getting the suitcases out soon. :wizard: :woohoo: :wizard:

TP2, Your counter is 1 week behind us. We get down on the 15th and will be there till 9/2. I will be looking for a disneyfide couple with 2 DD's. ;)

mickeywho?, Welcome:cutie: You will love the Poly. Any questions, I can help. I recommend the boats. If you plan on spending alot of time around the resort, look into the "family" plan, at the boat shack. You get unlimited use for your stay, at 1 price. Definately fun. And you can take any of there fleet. About the P&P parties, would you do it again? Would you attend it more than once? What was the best part of the party besides, parade & fireworks?

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Mkyprincess:

Thanks! We were definitely thinking of spending a lot of time on the water so I'll have to look into a "family plan" - didn't even know that existed.

We haven't decided if we want to go back to the P&P party again. When we were there in february we were with a large group and we were the only ones with tickets. So we went to MK from opening and said goodbye to our group when the party was starting up - changed into costumes and did all the party things. Lots of fun things to do - although we really only participated in half the stuff as we have two boys. We met Jack (big mistake - 1 hour lineup - inside so we didn't know it would take that long - although he was very cute and I sure was blushing!), took part in the pirate tutorial (great fun) and picked up treats at all the X spots (mainly raisins, chocolate kisses and beads). Not all the rides are open - but the ones that are have zero wait times (we rode POC 3x!) The parade was really cool - dark and spooky pirates - Tinkerbelle on a float! We didn't see the fireworks as my kids were exhausted, we were in the park all day, and the fireworks didn't start until late.
I think if we did it again this year we would arrive for 4pm and not use a park ticket for that day - I think we'll have to look up what rides are open. And be sure to get an ADR for dinner - we ended up eating at Casey's the last time because most of the CS restaurants were closed by 6pm.

MKY: We are arriving on 8/21 or 8/20 (having some trouble finding cheap flights) and staying until 8/30. We should try to meet up. We will have plenty of down time this trip so it should not be too hard to fit in.

Mickeywho?: I am glad you mentioned CS closing at 6:00pm. I had no idea. I was planning on eating a late lunch at the hotel and then grabbing something in MK when we got hungry. I did not plan on CS closing. I am actually surprised by that.

Here's my list of open restaurants in February:
El Pirata el Perico (tacos)
Aloha Isle
Westward Ho (quick bites)
Liberty Tree Tavern
Sleepy Hollow (funnel cakes)
Village Fry Shoppe (mcd's)
Cosmic Ray's (burgers)
Lunching Pad (quick bites)
Casey's Corner
Main Street Bakery
Tony's Town Square
Plaza Ice Cream
I don't see Crystal Palace on here so it may not have been open either.
Very little choice and I'm sure any TS are booked solid by now.

Not all the rides are open either
These ones were:
Pirates of the Caribbean
Magic Carpets of Aladdin
Swiss Family Treehouse
Splash Mountain
Country Bear
Frontierland Arcade
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Haunted Mansion (I think it's closed in August for refurb)
**Legend of the Jolly Roger Haunted Riverboat** all themed up!
Peter Pan
Carrousel
Dumbo
Philharmagic
Snow White
Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Mad Tea Party
Small World
Barnstormer
Mickey's Country House
Minnie's Country House
Indy Speedway
Space Mountain
Astro Orbiter
Buzz Lightyear
Stitch's Great Escape
TTA
Tomorrowland Arcade

Thanks for all of that. I think we will be fine with the couple of cs that are open. My kids actually ate only popcorn one morning because they did not want to stop to eat.:lmao: The rides that are open are perfect. I actually can't figure out what is closed. As long as we have Splash, BTMRR, Pirates, Space Mountain, Dumbo, and Pooh, we should be fine.

We were thinking that would be a good day to do a TS breakfast, lazy day around the pool, head to MK for 4pm and snack when we're hungry. The big breakfast would certainly fill us up all day anyways!
We would head to the rides that were closing early first so we wouldn't feel we missed out on anything anyways. (Tiki Room and Jungle Cruise are a couple I can think of)

Do they let you know when things are closing ahead of time or is something that happens throughout the night? I would love to plan out the day ahead of time.
