HEY!!! Glad you are back!! Sounds like you had a great time!
I have all my ADRs :goodvibes I knew Christmas would be hectic and imposible without them.

We are not doing MVMCP when we go. They all will be over with.

I saw video of MNSSHP and the fireworks and parade look AWESOME! I'll never get to go being a teacher :guilty:

Welcome back MKY  !!!!!
We missed ya too :grouphug:
Thank you for the great mini- trip report..I can`t imagine how Epcot must look with the food and wine......do they have tables outside of each country too ? :goodvibes
Happy that you visited our "Home away from Home" :cloud9: ...and that you are considering a stay there :sunny:
I was in the world once... in the fall and winter ( DH had a business trip)...and..yes...the weather is unpredictable...so you have to pack...Summer and Fall things as well ;)

OK.....now.. you`ll be back to the planning stage again with us :wizard:

Hiya!

Tomar, the F&W fest is set up with little house like buildings all over. spread around World showcase. They look a little like small white buildings with screen door / windows. We really liked Poland's food, cause we eat stuffed cabbage, and periogies here too. Austrailia was the most expensive with "shrimp on the barbie" near $5.00. (and very tiny). Sis tried a few others the strangest india. she didn't like it. Also the countries already represented (china, america, etc...) also have extra booths too. Offering a different variety of there foods. I really have never seen epcot sooooooooo busy. We made the Saturnday mistake once, and the wine / beer was flowing. Never seen so many intoxicated people with there kids roaming around wdw. It made for an entertaining day.

EE22, Don't feel bad about not going in October. Your not really missing much. :rolleyes1 Where are you staying in December? AKL?

We are kinda Poly-d out right now. Since our last 4 trips have been there. So we are considering CR mk view / tower. OR a dvc 1 br. Runs about the same price. But not sure if discounts run the same? Maybe split the two? Not sure which one we would rather start / end with? And then always the question of saving some $$ and going to PORS, which is our fav. moderate. We checked out the akl but it is sooo far out by itself, and read that it is going partial dvc? wow. Might want to stay at CR before their dvc gets built. I can't believe I am planning this all again and we are back 2 days only. Last night I was on the AAA site, checking prices. :stir:

We are staying at AKL in December.

You're right AKL is going DVC. I have the free DVD now...it arrived today :rotfl:

I had a slight panic. It's too soon for panic.
OMG!!! I don't know what to pack or how. The whole carry on thing is different now...I think I will just throw it all in a suitcase except my meds and extra contacts. Shorts, capris, jeans, sweathshirts...OH MY!! I'm use to the dog days of summer!!!

And, I'm not sure how I'll get my migraine meds on board. They are a spray...no individual label though, but they are sealed. I'm worried in the luggage they would be set off with the high pressure. I'm confused. :confused3

Then I forgot all that I learned about parking from Tomar this summer.

If I can do Trig, surely I can learn how to park at Disney!!!

Happy Halloween! :hmghost:

Hope everyone enjoyed their day. It was pretty cold here for trick & treating. 50's all the kids wore their coats.

August 07' Update: we are pretty set on wanting CR (if available) this time and splitting it? Either
#1. Cr / SSR
#2. SSR / CR
#3. CR / Vero Beach / CR or GF, BC, Poly, PORS, or ?

Any ideas? You guys ever stay at Vero? Do they do discounts at vero at all? Maybe a 3 or 4 day trip to get away from the crowds? Usually we come back and already have the trip planned in our minds but I just can't decide this time.

Tomar, your our DVC rep. what is your take on these ideas? Would you stay first or last at the dvc? I know #3 is a lot of moving (which i don't care for but ?) but that would give the start and finish at disney with a recoup break in middle?

EE22, Good luck packing. Oct. was bad enough with the weather but December. Yikees your looking at alot of different kind of clothes. Could be anything. We did not take a carryon this last time, just a backpack for purse and esentials. I packed all my drugs in luggage. they where undisturbed. (I had a disposable lock on the small bag). If you have any liquids (in carryon) they must fit into a SANDWICH sized clear plastic bag. or it will be tossed. I did not have one for the return and used a gallon sized bag with just a couple of small items would of fit a sandwich bag easily, and they tossed it based on the wrong sized bag. It was just 2 small hand gels, and a chapstick no big loss. So pack a few extra's just to have. Gosh, your trip will be here in no time. Do you celebrate xmas at home before or after or bring your gifts down there? I checked out the disneyflorist.com site they have some great trees, and decorations. Big & little. So festive. We actually did do some xmas shopping while in disney. So i have already started some.

Hope you all had a great nite! :stir:

Hi MKY :wave2:
Hope you had a great Halloween as well :goodvibes We had alot of children come to trick or treat at our house this year...alot of tinks...and cindy`s and pirates pirate: the temp. here in NJ was warm for OCT....in the 60`s
I looked over what you had posted....and I`ll be honest with you...I`ve never been to vero....I think I told you ;) ...but having said that....to me....ALL your choices are wonderful....the Grand :cloud9: ...and CR :goodvibes ...it`s hard to give my oppinion....I can tell you this though...FWIW...I would stay at SSR.... last....I think because...SSR is very laid back...and...after all the excitement of the parks and the fact that you guys want to move a couple of times.....being at a relaxing resort before yu get back home helps....to mabe start to wind down alittle :goodvibes

EE22.......YOUR TRIP IS GETTING CLOSER NOW !! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc
:cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

I booked us for 8/5-8/11, 2007 at POR today!!! I am so excited. We have stayed off property, Ft. Wilderness and the Contemporary. With 5 of us, we have limited choices on property unless we get two rooms.

Oooooohhhhhh, I can't wait.

MKY: from my friend who has been to Vero Beach many times and
Disney Vero Beach Resort. I trust her to know a good thing when she sees it!!

"We have taken the kids there for breakfast with the characters, etc. It is a very nice place. It is gorgeous property, right on the ocean and so clean and fun. You should go there some time.

Panotchr: CONGRATS!! I need something to look forward to after Dec.

The sign at school says 51 days till Christmas.

PANIC!!! that's my middle name!!

Hiya everyone!

:stir: Well, we booked tonight too. So far we have picked our days Aug 17th > Sept 2. I booked Contempary Resort's Tower / magic kingdom view. So far for the whole trip. Got the AAA discount. Still haven't decided if this is what we will keep :confused3 eventually, but a good starting off place. You can now book 14 days with a discount not just 10 as in previous years. So it came out to 2 ressies, 2 days and then 14 days. I kept it all there so as not to move. But you never know. :rolleyes1

EE22 > thanks for the vero info. Probably not this year. If we need a break from the wdw crowds maybe we will go for a long ride and check it out?
I got a few maps for you, PM me your address and I will send them out. We drove everywhere this October. Remember free parking with your resort parking sheet. (including parks).

Tomar > thanks for your insight on the SSr too! Still might do that. We are so undecided. and confused this year.

Panotchr > I love PORS! Are you planning on the bayou or mansion rooms? This resort is beauitful.

Now I have to get new counters fixed. :surfweb:

My friend thinks that DH would like Vero Beach for a real vacation and perhaps I'd still get my Disney fix. I'm not sold on that idea :teeth: She is the lay around at the beach type...not me!!!!

Thanks for the maps!! Tomar is so good with me with my parking issues. I found parking for dummies on AllEars :rotfl: I think I get it now.

I think....

I will pm my address...THANK YOU!!!!

We are booked at the Bayou. I requested bldg 18, but someone suggested that bldg 36 might be better.....any thoughts, anyone? We want to drive to the parks instead of using the buses and we want to be close to a pool. We have 5 ppl so bayou it is :)

We stayed at the Contemporary last summer, but is so expensive and we decided we didn't spend enough time in the room to justify that again.

I hope POR is nice. My dream is to stay at Poly one day :)

Hiya everyone!

EE22, Will send you what I could get. Disney maps are now just on the back of a paper from the resorts so its not big. I also got our map of Orlando. Hope they help.

Tomar, I will have to look for that driving info too. I just pave my own way around. Even behind MK a few times. :thumbsup2

Panotchr, Bayou rooms are the coolest. They have log beds and "homey" furnishing. Large tv & large fridge too. Only thing small (for some reason) I thought the sinks where small and lower to the ground? Last time we where in Partatee' place, and then bayou #38? It was the closest building to the mansion area. Not very convient to the main building or pool. I get lost in the bayou easier, cause the paths and walksways are not straight areas, they wind around. The mansion area is a little easier to navigate.

I can't get used to the "gloom" here. leaves are almost down, and everything is brown. It was sooooooooo green at wdw. So many flowers. The difference is really something. I want to go back. :rolleyes1 My new counter is way too long.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. :wizard:

MKY: Thanks! Tomar sent me a map too so anything I can get will be a huge help. I'm not hopeful we'll do well. DH insists on driving and then doesn't know where he's going. He still didn't know Friday night how to get to a middle school for pics for DD for bball and then back to the place for the game! GOOD GRIEF!!!! I'll just have to take the bull by the horns and drive myself. I also got great info from Tomar from AllEars so I should be able to find it.

Tell me again that it's easy, will ya? :drive:

Hi guys !!!! :wave2:
MKY- Alot of the first few days of driving (as I`m sure you know) is always trial and error basically  I think Map... or no map....It takes a couple of days to get used to your surroundings....We usually miss a couple of major roads the first or second day....then it gets easier as time goes on :goodvibes I hear ya about the warm weather...All the trees here in NJ are getting bare...and it`s C_O_L_D :cold:

EE22- I WILL tell ya....your going to be fine :cloud9: ....Weather you... or your DH drives :goodvibes
Here`s a tip......Just give yourselves enough time to get where your going....and trust me.....you`ll do great !! :woohoo: :goodvibes

Panotchr- POR is great....we stayed in the bayou...as well as the Mansions...I preferred the Bayou though....the majority of the quiet pools are there....I think the mansions only have 1 or 2.... ;)

 Hiya!

Tomar, You are so right. Every trip we seem to find a new rode, and use it over and over again. We have our favorites too. Basically we just paid attention on the buses, and then followed signs. Drove around and just kept exploring.

EE22, I sent you the maps and tried to give a few instructions on them but it is kind of hard to see. Just to give you an idea. Are you flying into standford again? We went on a sight seeing drive (had to with the convertible VW) and wound up near there, that seemed pretty far. I thought about you, tonight cause I bought a very small Mickey mouse X-mas tree (fiberoptic) at the christmas store at DTD, and put it up tonight. Thought about you and your family at wdw, celebrating.

Sweetness, be sure to plan all your ADR's, they are cruical if you plan to eat anywhere. Happy planning. :surfweb:

If you guys want one of the "day" counters I have this is the link:
http://v50.net/

We haven't seen TP2 lately, she must be busy with the kids. Hope everything is ok.

We are soooooo busy at work. I am off tommorrow, this weekend was brutal coming back to a mad house. And then the BEARS lost. :sad1:  :sad1:

:offtopic: :grouphug:

:sad1: Sis (at work) had me take wolfie to vet today. They said his degenerative spine disease is at its end, and wanted to keep him. I brought him home and we decided :sad1: to bring him back. Sis finally agreed. Still very upset. He had just turned 13yr old. Which is great for a german shepherd. I am still very upset.

I guess I just needed to write it down. Laura
