Hi :wave2: EEyorelover22. I just came over to this thread, usually am on the cruise thread, because we are planning a trip to Disney in June of 09, and was excited to see there was another Iowan on the boards. I haven't seen anyone else from here. So I just wanted to say Hi, and hope you are having a wonderful trip!

And yeah, the weather here stinks!

:scared1: OMG!!! it's horrible here. SO MUCH SNOW since we left.

dvc4life: Howdy!! Good to see an Iowan:goodvibes

We had a 10:30 adr for Park Fare this morning and drove over from the WL with all of our stuff in the car to depart for Sanford. It was so yummy. It's the only place that has real bacon now...the rest is microwave. Ick. Best breakfast we had while there.

Then we left:scared1: :scared1: I have never seen so many cars!!!! The pics of MK on the 24th which I sent out this morning...that crowd by Casey's Corner...it was like that for 15 minutes...unreal. We were saying that if we had stayed till Sat we would have been able to do NOTHING!!

Flight home was so much better. Got in early. And, they turned that plane around before the luggage came off. They left an hour early. When they say check in 2 hours early...they mean it!!

The flight out was a nightmare. We were on the plane for 1.5 hours waiting for the deicer truck that broke down...then the aborted take off:scared1: OMG!! picked up the BROKEN car rental at 12:33 am...WL and to bed by 2:30 am. The only other incident was DL11 and I being stuck on BTMRR 40 minutes before Wishes (our last night) and they made us go backwards through the line to get out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Rather than letting us walk through the ride off. It broke down...some people were stuck on the tracks. It took us 15 minutes to get to where we could see Wishes because Spectro was going on. Not much Magic there let me tell you.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!:santa: :santa:

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 To Alamo too...they did stay open till 12:30 am when they close at 11 pm and the man gave me 1/2 our rental due to the air not working. It was the only car there except for a PT Cruiser which wouldn't work for 4 people. Rental was $75 for the trip:goodvibes Thank goodness it wasn't that hot. We drove with the windows down today on the tollway and we are glad we did...with all the snow here:rotfl:

EE22 - sounds like a bit of trouble with the trip, sorry it was not all magic and pixie dust.

I would love to see your pictures too. We are leaving in 5 days and I expect the crowds will be bad the first four days until school starts again.

MKY- bought two new tires on Christmas eve morning and now the car is handling the snow better. Boy did I ever need them but kept putting it off.

dvc4life - I will have to start visiting the cruise board since we are going in March on the Magic.

Actually, Magic and Pixie Dust is what got us there. We flew out under blizzard warnings and missed the ice storm coming back yesterday:goodvibes I heard hail and sleet hitting the windows last night.

A friend flew from the east coast yesterday...on their direct flight and had to stop and refuel in Cinn, OH due to a 200 mph head wind. People were stuck in airports for days. O'Hare was a nightmare. I am not sure my friend in Iowa City ever did get her kids from the airport last night. They were to fly out of O'Hare last night at 8 pm.

So...all in all, we were very lucky given the weather.

BTMRR...they were twits running the ride. When a guests asks to leave the ride....they need to let them leave. Better training needed there I would say.

A friend that works in MK said big time cut backs are coming for workers so he's working extra shifts.

I am working on the pics from the Grand yesterday. DL11 noted that the traffic was backed up to the Swan and Dolphin on the road to the MK. CRAZY:scared1: Just crazy. This says to me that people are staying off site to save cash.

Airfares are out for the summer from here.
We cannot afford $500 per person:confused3 either they come down or we don't go.

EE22: I am so happy that you guys made it there safely and back home again safely. The weather was definately a concern. Sounds like you had a great trip.

We did have a great trip. The WL is beautiful.
We never used the boat to MK from the WL. We took the bus in the morning and then took the bus after Spectro...we could see it waiting so we went for it. It's the first stop and it would have been cold anyway. We never walked down there, but I assume it was much farther to walk there than to the bus.

I assume we had an upgrade on room as we did see the woods out our door. That's the pond in our pictures. I just requested a quiet room is all. With my sleeping issues, I was concerned. Rooms off the lobby would be loud I'm sure.

The first night we were there I heard this pounding and thought "OMG, we have loud annoying neighbors" and then I heard it again and realized it was the Wishes fireworks:lmao: it was neat to see them through the trees. We were on ground floor right down from the Roaring Fork which DL11 called Flaming Fork which we all found very hilarious:rotfl: It was very close to the lobby so it was an awesome location that's for sure. It is a large resort that's for sure.

I know one thing...I appreciate the dedicated bus service to AKL that's for sure. We had to either go to the Grand or to Fort Wilderness before we hit the parks which was sort of annoying...not an issue really as we were always there early. The one night coming back from DHS though it was packed though since there were two resorts on the same bus.

I will NEVER take the boat from Epcot to DHS again either. It took nearly an hour by the time we made all those stops. YUCK!!! I would not want to rely on that service all the time and at busy times it would not be fun....and it's hot in the summer and cold in the "winter".

Our best meals were at T Rex believe it or not and 1900 Park Fare breakfast. CP for lunch is not a good place. I had a difficult time finding stuff to eat. Seems odd, but I did. I will say this..their lemon bars are real as I did not have a reaction to them.

I forgot to mention the group playing the bells in the lobby of the WL. Really beautiful. I don't know who they were but what a treat. It was Magical that's for sure. I love those bells. They are in the pics, but the lobby is hard to take pictures in.

The make a t-shirt place at DTD is neat too. I recommend Goofy's Candy Kitchen too...what fun. DH's Mickey rice krispie bar was HUGE!!

We have never been to Goofy in DTD before. No real reason why, I guess we don't spend too much time down there. We have 4 off days this summer, 2 are travel days but with the other 2 we may hit DTD. They changed the booking window to 90 days instead of 180. I actually prefer this but I am sure there are lots of people disappointed. I want the kids input this year in places to eat but I am not sure I want to tell them just yet. 3 months out is a better time frame than 6 months out.

Hi Guys ! :goodvibes
Welcome Back EE22 and DL11 !!
Sounds like you guys made some Wonderful Christmas Memories in the World this past week !! :cloud9: :santa:
Sorry you didn`t enjoy the boat to the Studios....Mr. Tomar and I treat the ride as an Attraction :rotfl: ....sailing leasurely to our destination !:cloud9:WE love to do the boat ride when we`re going to the parks after a day at the pool.....we don`t do MORNING Emh`s ...(Im always in my 11th dream around the time the parks open that early) :crazy2: .....LOL....but we love the Evening ones !!
Wilderness Lodge has to be the best resort choice for Christmas :santa: ....it must have been soooooooooooooooo Beautiful !!!....I know your pictures were AWESOME ! :cloud9:

TP2- I survived Christmas Eve and Day !! YAAY !!!!! ....How about you ??!!!!All the cooking and baking and eatting and opening the presents and talking and .....did I say Eatting?? !! :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Hi Everyone:

Tomar: Yes, I survived but just barely. My house is still trashed and I have no energy to clean. My family, that we swore we were not going to exchange gifts with this year, still went way overboard. My house was good when I left yesterday but after getting home last night, I can't find room to put the stuff away. I am just glad we all survived the holidays without getting sick. We went through a period where someone in my house had the stomach virus for like the last 6 years. This is the first year I can remember that no one was sick. I guess we finally built up immunity. Thank goodness.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is looking forward to the New Year. :wizard:

Tomar...we left 1.5 hours to get to our Sci Fi ressie and almost didn't make it!! That would not have been good with waiting in line for fries.

We didn't go to morning EMH;) we were just there when it opened.:goodvibes
MK and AK opened at 8 am while we were there. MK was going to open at 7am when we were there, but we were spared that agony!!:rotfl:

I gave up on laundry:laundy: too tired and no one is wearing shorts or capris around here for some time:scared1:

TP2- I feel soooo tired too !:faint: Tooo much to do in sooo little time this year ...It was a daunting task...but finally got all done
Take the house cleaning a day at a time...you have to rest alittle !!:cloud9:
The Perfectly Princess was playing with her "Princess Tea cart" today.....she said she was making Gam-ma a cup of tea...LOL :goodvibes
Im sure the girls were busy playing with all thier gifts (some of which Grandma and Grandpa took from mommy to give them....:rotfl: )......
and I especially am glad that everyone stayed healthy this Christmas at the TP2 home !! :cloud9:

EE22- WHOA :scared1: ....and hour and a half !!!!
Remind me to only go to the world. ... when I can move around better than a New Jersey Mall at Christmas time !!
The summer months are bad enough :scared:
we have never been to a Rope drop at any of the parks....we sleep in..in the mornings !! :cloud9: ....I figure ...Whatever we can do at 7 in the morning  ...we can do at 4 in the afternoon just as well ....especially in the summer when the EMH evenings are into the weeee hours :flower3:
Take your time with the Laundry:laundy: ....you just got home and must be very tired as well !!

It doesn't seem as bad when it's cooler outside, but the crowds at times were a bit much.

I can tell you one thing I would never do when it's hot outside...stand in that line for Fantasmic! NO WAY!! it was COLD when we were watching the show and when we were standing in that line...it was HOT! We have never waited in line...we have always done the dinner package. It was not a fun time. In the heat, it would be horrible. I cannot even imagine.

Yes...it's busy that's for sure, but usually not till around noon. Otherwise, we could manage. MK for Spectro and Wishes are a bit much:scared1: The line for RnR on an EMH morning was 120 minutes and the fast passes were gone by 11:30. Crazy. It was our second day so it didn't matter. We rode it all that we wanted to already.

The boat was empty on the way to DHS...it took that long to load, etc and make all the stops! It was long!! Maybe the driver was taking his sweet ole time...I'm not sure.

I woke up every morning before the call except the last morning when DL11 had almost killed me the night before in the MK.

I just remembered too...there is NO RECORDING FOR THE WAKE UP CALLS!!! very sad:guilty:

I know...I think the no recording thing was very odd. I don't know if ours was not working or what. I know there are cut backs, but that's sort of strange as how much would that cost:confused3 Maybe people were annoyed with Stitch that didn't know who he was. No idea. I hope someone goes and lets us know that it's just a weird think for our room:confused3

Hiya everyone!:cheer2:

EE22, :welcome: Welcome Back! We missed you. Hope you had a great time. You pictures where wonderful. Where is bolt and friends, I am guessing at DHS? Kids looked very happy, as well as mom and dad. :woohoo: Nice teenagers for a change. Been on a bad bunch at work, lately for some reason.:confused3 No stitch in the morning? That is weird. They have to have something, maybe it was a fluke?

Tomar, One day you will get to take the princess: your princess, for a real tea. We took max twice, to the grown up tea, and he loved it.:rotfl: Once he saw a couple of husbands there, it was fine. Glad you had a great holiday.

TP2, yes, you sound exhausted in your writing. Lots of work, with big families. I am soooooooooo jealous. Better, not to tell the girls too early. Have you seen the book, wdw for kids, by kids? We gave it to max and went over it with him. The girls would get alot of it, it you haven't used it yet. But, then again - they could probably write it.

Candi, you are soooooooo close. time to get busy. Feel better with the new tires. The last week here, has been an ice rink. All kind of accidents. I-80 was closed due to ice.

But today, we have a balmy 50!:confused3 Everything melted. :dance3: Now, it is flooding. :scared1: This is supposed to last for 1 more day with the rain [thunder and lightening too] and then back to the deep freeze.

Hope everyone has a great week. Bug's b-day is today. and She made our dining this afternoon. Looks like we are set. 75 days WooHoo!:wizard:

mky:cutie: and yes, still coughing.:scared1:
