We may have to drive to Chi Town for flights for the summer. They are crazy expensive so I'm waiting.

I forgot about the tea. DL11 and I are going to do that in July.

We had a wonderful time even though DL11 put me near extinction with our MK day

Hope you're resting TP2 and Tomar. I think I have recovered. Laundry is done.

We would have never made it back today. HUGE ice storm and now snow. No travel is advised. We thought about coming back today rather than the 25th. Decided we should not skip bball and it was canceled both days anyway. But, crowds were huge and the weather is horrible today.

Hi everyone

EE22 - no character on the phone.... too strange.* That has been a feature for so many years, I wonder what happened.* I will let you know if we find that at SSR in 4 days.

I have not organized since bringing home the gifts on Christmas day. We bought a new couch and love seat today and they will be delivered on Monday, so I need to organize for that and have not started to do yet either. Good think I don't have to work this week.

We paid for our cruise in March today to. It was a day for spending money today.

MKY - I have not seen much in the way of car rental specials for March yet have you. We need one day before the cruise and three days after.

Hi Everyone:

Tomar: We are still celebrating. My family came over tonight for leftovers, and just left. It is almost midnight. We all sat around saying how tired we are. Finally got most of the gifts sorted and now I am working on catching up on laundry. I still have over 360 days until next year, right? We go to American Girl next week. That was the girls big gift from Grandma and Grandpa. Everyone is very excited.

MKY: You are right. The big families do make it fun. Christmas Eve I cooked meatballs for 30 people. Gets crazy and expensive, that is for sure. We all chip in and bring something because it is just too much for one person alone.

All in all it was a great holiday and we are still healthy. I say this with a grain of salt because the girls had to have Chicken Pox boosters today after someone had it on Christmas Eve. The fun never ends, I tell you.

Candi: 4 more days and you ordered furniture. My biggest job at that point before a trip is to clean out the fridge so no food goes rotten.

I am not sure what the deal was with the wake up call Very strange. You'll have to let us know.

I have found the IG code works wonders at the last minute if you can get it right away. It worked last summer for WDW, our Reno trip and this last trip too. It's about 2 weeks out. Alamo though...not sure what you are using.
They were good to us too so I will probably always stick with them. They stayed open 1.5 hours after closing and made up for the air not working. We would have melted in the summer!

We had a bad ice storm here today. YUCK

MKY - Hope Bug had a great birthday ! ...Im sorry that you are still coughing....sometimes it takes forever to go away....the year I had pneumonia was like that for me ....
LOL about the Princess ...Im getting here prepared for the "Perfectly Princess Tea Party" for sure !!
Mach is coming up fast ...and at least you guys got to make your dining ressies !!
Im fine with the return to 90 days now....I just hope things get up and running soon though !

TP2- I hear ya with the leftover party !!....I made extra trays of Eggplant Parm. and Baked Ziti for New Years ....and gave alot of food to DS to take home !!....We were at cousin`s house on Christmas night ....(they just bought a new home here in NJ)....and I couldn`t eat another thing...just had coffee and a peice of Apple crumb pie ..
Have Fun at the American Girl !!!!!....My Neighbor`s girls are into AG as well....soooooo cute !!

EE22- Glad your home safe and sound ...It would have been scarey to return with the weather you had the last day or so... .....Thank Goodness you didn`t experience any of that ice blast
Happy your laundry is done and now you have sooo many beautiful memories of Christmas `08 in the world !!

Candi- you are the next one of us to leave !!....Can`t beieve you ordered furniture now !! ....4 days out from my Disney Vacation ....Im rearranging

We were almost to Coralville yesterday as the forecast was showing just rain.... then saw the ice "Ice Warning" We ran to a couple stores in the mall to make returns and then went home

I hope this isn't a repeat of last year - ice / snow storms for weeks

Hi Minnie...Iowa City always seems to get more ice than we do for some reason being just a bit south of us. They are already taking floods again this spring most just got back into their homes and businesses in mid December. Dubuque already has more snow than last year and so do we although that December we had more ice storms till late December. I'm tired of it already that's for sure! DL11 and I might head to Coralridge on Tuesday after practice. Weather looks clear.

It was wicked here last night. DH did drag us to dinner....I couldn't believe it but nothing comes between that man and his meatloaf and waffle fries!! Even after Disney!

Yes the furniture purchase has turned up the stress level a bit. I figured they would be 6 weeks to order the thing and I would not have to worry about it right now....WRONG. DH said if we are paying for it now, why not just go ahead and take delivery. I bet I have to clean the rug now too.

If you go to the Alamo site there is a hot deals tab at the top and it will have dates when you click on it and then when you click on your city it takes you to the reservation and IG is the code. It only works for a short time and only a few weeks out. It's on mousesavers too.

EE22, that is way too much for airfare. Did you check flying out of chicago again? I figure stanford is different, but maybe you know: at mco > and alamo do you have to go to the counter or go straight out to the cars?

mky: we'd try Moline before Chicago. Air Tran flies out of there. I know I've read some bad things about Air Tran and flights, but we may not have a choice. SW would have to be super cheap to make the 4 hour drive worthwhile. I'm just shocked that they are asking that for airfare. I'm in a holding pattern right. Problem is...the dates to fly that are best with Air Tran are different from Allegiant which messes up our reservation with DVC.

we are not much for going out on new years eve...so the Tomars will be spending the evening with "Uncle Walt" .....There will be a Travel Chanel "Disney shows" Marathon, from 8pm on... tomorrow night !!!

EE22: I keep thinking that it has to come down. There is no way the prices can stay high with oil dropping. I am looking into using credit card miles. Ours are running twice as high as usual so at least it will give us another option.

Tomar: We also stay in on New Years Eve. Way too expensive and too many drunks on the roads. We have a nice dinner and watch the ball drop with the kids. I am so excited to hear about the marathon on Travel Channel. I actually was looking for Disney episodes last night but there was nothing on.

Hi TP2- WE do exactly the same thing you guys do ...each and every year...we`ve never gone out on New Year`s Eve....too many crazys out there !!
Im really a happy camper this year ....I`ll be spending the New Year with Uncle Walt !! !! Of Course at 11:30 we will start to watch the ball drop also

We don't do NYE either we usually don't even make it till midnight and this year DL11 has bball practice on the 1st

They are having a deal at our favorite place though this year.

Big game for the U of Iowa in the Outback Bowl...I have to be sure to miss it I don't like football!

Candi...will you be at WDW for NYE? Cannot imagine but I bet the fireworks are amazing.

I went out to work today. My new year's resolution is going to be to Procastinate more. Hasn't worked yet. I am not as OCD as I once was though.

Tomar, Thanks for the heads up. Will be watching too. We watch the ball in NY and then the chicago version an hour later for us. If I stay up that late. Working NY day, unless I get cancelled / on call.

TP2, hope things cleared up. Have you ever gone to times square for NYE? Looks crazy.

EE22, not sure what is up with the air rates your getting. Seem wild. But, the march car prices are crazy yet too. Try waiting it out > that is my strategy but so far, not paying off.
