Thanks EE22! All this time and I am right back where we started from last summer. I really can't believe how expensive it would be to stay deluxe for any length of time. Being a family of 5 changes things a lot.:rotfl:

Hiya everyone,

happy weekend.;) I am celebrating cause I have a 3 day weekend. I got a shot today  (foot) and took tommorrow off > to rest it. Its still numb so feels pretty good right now. :lmao:

Yes, I came across the hours for march too. :yay: Told bug, we have big planning this weekend. Adrs, are in limbo / or not:confused3 Not really ready to do it yet, and the "new system" is in progress> told me you might or might not be able to do it. I talked to a cm while at wdw, and they explained the new system, like we could get a print out on check in of your adr's. And it is a smoother system .... . BUT the real thing is "when you do your adr's, the screen will pull them all up at once, and they can see if your double booked or overlapped?" to cut out any abuse..... ." I wonder, if it will keep track if you don't show up too. Love the last minute change:wizard: "No, don't feel like leaving the pool, now for dinner....." They will probably refuse to let me make any.:scared1:

EE22, you consider march winter? Maybe out in the plains it still is.:confused3 After feb I like to consider it spring. Don't want to be driving anywhere in winter. That might be scary.:upsidedow

TP2, hope the girls are feeling better by now. 2 rooms will probably be better = 2 bathrooms & a little privacy for mom & dad.:lovestruc Ooops, be careful, you might be looking at a family of 6. :rolleyes1 :rotfl: Now, that would really be expensive at wdw.;)

Tomar, thanks for the link:thumbsup2

mky:cutie:

Hey MKY: So looking forward to our next trip.:goodvibes Can't wait to start the planning. So jealous that you are planning your next trip already.

Hope your foot is doing better.:thumbsup2

The extra space will be nice. I also like the idea of 2 bathrooms. Kids are on their own now with showering, which is really nice. No worry about adding to our group of 5.:rotfl2: We already learned our Disney cost lesson.:teacher: :rotfl:

Hope everyone had a good day. Been busy here but that is a good thing. Saving every penny for that Disney fund!:flower3:

Hi Guys !:goodvibes
Pouring rain here in New Jersey today...ick:mad: ...I really got used to the wonderful summer we had......oh well....we have to get thruough the Fall and "W" word ;) ....until another spring !:flower3:
Ordered a photobook from Shutterfly last night....from our summer of `08 trip.....can`t wait for it to arrive..:cloud9:

The Perfectly Princess is singing to me these days .....from the "Lady and The Tramp" movie.....(her favorite)....princess: ....I can`t wait until her first trip to to the world !....

TP2- Sounds like a plan about ASMU...the 2 bathrooms and 2 beds in each room will be great for your family !! :cloud9:

MKY- How`s the March Plans coming along ?!popcorn::
Looks like Uncle Walt has changed the name of the Disney Dining Experience card to " Tables in Wonderland"....they can call it whatever they want.... as long as we are getting the 20% discount :teeth:

EE22- It`s Friday and time for the Bestest Teacher in the Field of Dreams to have a great weekend !! :teacher:  :cheer2:

Good wishes for a great weekend for you too ..TP2 & MKY ! :grouphug:

Hiya everyone!

Tomar, I hear you, we are getting lots of rain last nite and today too. At least it ain't texas rain. That is scary.
Anyone been through a hurricane? You guys on the east coast or while in disney? Closest we came was a tropical storm, came across from tampa (as hurricane > and then over us as a storm) closed the parks for a day, and everything else for that matter. Then rained bad for 2 to 3 days more and very cool or september.

March plans for on hold for now. We did our day planning, and on hold for adr's. Till the new system. I can call back at the end of the month > for chef mickey's but nothing else, we are not (nor have ever been) to v&a.

Tomar, your shutterfly book sounds great. I still haven't done a thing with our pictures. Gosh and the princess: is singing. She will be in college soon:rolleyes1 They grow up so fast. I am taking care of kids, I knew the parents of as patients.:sad2:

Foot, is a little better. We are going to forego the segway tour in march thou, think I would be pushing the foot (and bug's knee) envelope > and probably ruin the rest of the trip. Maybe next october. When we did it before you really use your legs, ankles and feet.

Well, have a great weekend everyone! Happy planning, mky:cutie:

Hi everyoneWe have had a busy couple of weeks here. DD turned 13, we had a party for the family last weekend, for her friends this weekend.* We took them rock climbing yesterday and today I can hardly move.* It is great exercise but 2.5 hours was too long for my first time.* I mostly did the ropes for the kids but did make it half way up one wall before I decided that was enough.* The kids loved it.I turned the big 42 on Wednesday the 10th and on Friday work cut a bunch of jobs and our staff in my area is down to 2 from 4 - :scared1: I don't know how we are going to manage.* I am brushing up the resume in case I need it.TP2- I sent you an email with the free dinning offer they sent out.EE22 - I have to use ear drops when the kids swim a lot.* It is over the counter and it like an anticeptic for the ear.* It does prevent a lot of inner ear as well as swimmers ear - which no GP has ever been able to diagnose correctly for me.* I even tell them and they don't get it.* It makes me appreciate the pediatrician a whole lot more.MKY - I am looking for a rental car deal for March.* Since we have a day off site before the cruise and two days at Vero Beach after, we are going to need a van to carry us and the luggage.* I have my ADRs for January pretty well set and which days we are going to each park.We had the remnants or the last hurricane and Ike will blow through the beginning of next week.* We had flood watches all around this area yesterday but it is windy today, so hopefully we will dry out a bit before the next rain comes.* My weeds in the back yard are just starting to turn green again. As for the condo/appartment idea, I love it.* With the price of property at an all time low in Florida, it might be fun to check it out.* There are a lot of Canadians that own trailers down there and winter there for a few months a year.* I will be planning on something like this once I retire since I want to work for Disney at some point. If I don't loose my job, I would consider it.* I would even volunteer to manage the "reservations" since I am really organized that way.* And yes, since you would have an address, you would get the residence discounts. :dance3: :dance3:

Hi everyone:goodvibes

MKY: Last hurricane we had was in 1985, hurricane Gloria. More a mess with the trees and down power line than anything else. No flooding like has been going on lately.

Candi: I sent you an e-mail. Did that come from Disney Destinations? I delete a lot of mail before reading because I don't recognize the sender. I opened a couple of things in the past week that I would have normally just deleted and they turned out to be valid.

Sorry about the layoffs. We are living in a scary time lately.

Happy Birthday to you and your daughter.

EE22 and Tomar: Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.:wizard:

Hi All...been trying to get through the posts I've missed. It was a wild week at work. Our new online gradebook was messed up early in the week...Tues I think and still is not right. The solution doesn't sound happy to me. If I have to re-enter all my grades from day 1 I am not going to be Happy.

We have had terrible weather this week too. It's like it was in April right now. I heard on the news that it rained for 72 hours straight and some of the places downtown that flooded, flooded again over the weekend. So sad. Can't imagine Texas since there was massive destruction from wind along with the destruction from the water. Many are very concerned that now IA will be forgotten...I'm sure that concern is valid too.

A friend was in a hurricane once and she said you can tell when the eye goes over because the trees blow the other way:goodvibes She lives north of Orlando and I believe it was Charlie that she went through.

Ears: There is no way I would use anything on DD's ears unless the doc gave them to her. She has had too much trouble...including having her ear cut off when she was 3 years old. They did put it back on;) but that was not fun. She had to have plastic surgery on her eardrum. She developed a very, very rate condition from her one tube that did not fall out. DS's ear was an infection from a cold/allergies not swimming.

Allegies are out of control here this fall due to "the flood". I'm going to retire before this city is ever back to normal:confused: They keep saying 10 years and I believe. The impacts are incredible. I worry about Minnie...SE Iowa is still getting rain today and they were hit hard this summer as well.

MKY: I don't think WDW would punish you for not making an ADR;) I'm sure you are at the top of the VIP list due to all your trips. No Worries!!

When I made ADRs they gave me "what for" sometimes because I did have multiple ADRs at the same time since the boys do one thing and the girls do another. I suppose I will have to use a different number for the boys and use a different phone # as well.

I also know what you mean, mky, I am getting kids of former students in my classes now.:scared1: I am also getting to be one of the most veteran teachers in the building too:confused3 Couple years and I'll be one of the old dogs...one lady will be left that was hired the year before me and THAT'S IT!! There will be older people in the building, but they had other jobs before this one. I've got all the assistant principals, deans and principal by 5-10years:scared1: :scared1:

TP2: Your trip will be AWESOME!!! You haven't been for awhile and there is so much that is new when you go this time. I cannot wait to try out the new TRex place at DTD. Sounds very kewl!!

I also noticed that Walmart is carrying lots of Disney shirts too TP2...I know you still have a store though and they have good sales. I so miss ours. My friend worked there still and would get stuff that was not online for me. There are not any stores now in Iowa:rolleyes:

Tomar: I have seen those shutterfly books...they are very kewl!! A friend at work made one and they are very nicely made. I should take the time to make one. Time is one thing I don't have much of though. Maybe over winter break. We have 2 weeks this year:mad: which I do not like...too long. DD will have basketball too.

I'm hoping for low humidty this week and no rain! The saga of the heater...It was a comedy show on Friday:guilty: they waited until I had class and giving a test to try the first fit of the new part....they threw out the old ones:rolleyes: then had to tear apart the heater next door to remake the old parts from the 1960's. So...it didn't fit...they took it out and cut it...came back...it didn't fit...came back again...it didn't fit...took it out again and cut it...came back the 3rd time and it fit. It worked...no filter...came back...put in the filter...then they didn't know if it would fit with the cover on. :scared1: OMG!!! it did finally go on! They didn't vacuum it out so I'm sure the dust and papers in there will ignite when they really do turn it on with heat. I still don't know if there is heat coming from it since it was 80 in there on Friday at 11 am. So, it might blow up the first time I actually turn the themostat up to heat the room:mad:

All in a day's work....:teacher:
Tomar...thank goodness for the weekends to recover!!!

mky...did you see this. I cannot remember your dates or where you are staying. Old age....:rotfl:

... from a reliable anonymouse source: As of January 5, the pools at the Contemporary will close for two months. They will be adding a kids' splash zone, redoing the pool deck (new and larger tiles), and doing a massive landscape renovation, removing all the crape myrtles and adding lots of palm trees. It will have a more tropical look throughout. While the pool is closed, the Polynesian pool will be available to all Contemporary guests.

EE22, Yes, I saw it & already "wrote" disney to see if it is true. We are at a delemia now. If we change to poly, you will get the cr pool people and poly people not to mention dvc visitors.;) And be paying a lot more. The garden will be noisy over by the pool area. :upsidedow Not sure what we will do. I got the wdw answer and it said, there is construction going on now, but never mentioned the pool. So I wrote back and asked again. They probably won't admit it. The 1st time we stayed at the GF, the main pool went down the 2nd day we where there. and it was not nice. Thinking about the beach club, or PORS, WL, or GF. Would be happy with a villa at wl. Think there is a possibility of good ap rates? :wizard: Oh, if you need something from the DS, let me know we still have 6 around here.:confused3 Guess they do well here. :woohoo: We where in one sat. and it was all "little" kids:confused3 stuff. Hardly, anything if your over 6.

Good luck with the heater. We have already had the heat on here. And probably tonight too. It has been raining here for 3 days. Flash flooding all over. and temp dropped 20 degrees.

Candi, hang in there. Things have to turn around and start getting better.:wizard: Happy Birthday:bday: Nice condo ;) Your DH is going to kill me.

TP2, Glad you did ok with your hurricane. That must always be on your mind during the season. There is a chance, but at least not a big one. We get tornado's frequently, and had the earthquake this year.:rotfl: (ok, just a tiny one), but if you google it = you will find: chicago had a tidal wave once (lake michigan). I swear.:teacher: My mom, said she was working up there at the time.

Tomar, Well, the weather did not lead to a great weekend, but we had a good time, even if the Bears where terrible today.:scared1:

Have a great sunday nite, mky;) Happy Planning

MKY & EE22- I can`t wait for the Photo Book to arrive....it took quite a while to do...but all in all it was fun !:goodvibes
TP2- I remember "Gloria" too:scared1: ....I thought we may have had to board things up....but it wasn`t as bad as predicted in our neck of the woods (bad enough though:upsidedow ).....last saturday ...we got the reminents of Hanna....it was POURING all day....but I look at the poor people of LA and Texas...and really....we have nothing to complain about
The Perfectly Princess was finger painting with her Daddy this morning and wanted me to know !!
She was singing nursery Rhymes .....ya think she wants to be an "American Idol" someday ROTFL:rotfl: :cloud9:
I would imagine MKY.... that the contemp construction is the reason for the pool closing ...and Uncle Walt probably doesn`t want to actually mention it at this time....hense the vauge letter .:rolleyes1

EE22- YAAY !!! Soooo happy that your gunna have a heater in class !!:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Enjoy what`s left of the weekend everyone ! :woohoo:

Tomar: I did the photo book last summer from Disney and it took soooo long. I feel your pain. They had to reinstate my photopass 2x before I could get them done. End result was great though. Some of my captions lost letters but it is fine. I love that book and it is a great memento.

EE22:   :woohoo: HEAT:woohoo:

Crazy to need so much celebration for heat but in your case you really do. Glad you finally got it. Ditto what MKY said about Disney Store. We have an outlet and the store. We are going there on Saturday so let me know if there is anything I should look out for.

MKY: If you belong to Touring Plans, they have an update about the construction at the Cont. They say if you are looking to stay there to rethink the decision. I will try to paste in into the thread.

MKY - the DH was in the room when I pulled it up. We eventually want to do something like that but I thought the prices would be more.

EE22 - that is part of the trouble with buying anything so far from home, you don't know the areas at all.

There would be a lot of research to be done if we bought one ourselves because of being Canadian and all. Nice to dream though. Plus right now, I am not sure what is going to happen with my work situation.

It is really storming here now and the temperature has finally dropped. It was so humid today at everything is sticky to the touch.

Have a great Sunday evening everyone.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

EE22:lmao: Look out, we just turned the heat on again. And it has not rained in the last 1/2 hr.:worship: I will tune into CNN.

TP2, I never pulled up tourguide.com before, even thou I have the last 4 editions. It is a pretty nice site. But the noise they are talking about was the resturant construction. We where there in aug, and it was going on. Luckily we where over the shops and so not too bad, but: I have seen faster workers. Not much changed in the 2.5 weeks we where there.;) I am not too concernced about the noise > more that the pools will be out of commission. I am hoping it would be hot.

Tomar, does she do disney songs yet?

Candi, you need to start getting a green card now.;)

mky:cutie:

TP2- Yes....The Photobook was alittle daunting with putting the captions in ...but at the end of the day...I think I did ok :goodvibes ....I hope so anyway:cloud9:

MKY- Yes.....the Perfectly Princess sings the song from the "Lady and the Tramp" ROTFL....."He`s a Tramp....but I love him"....ROTFL:rotfl: ...it`s soooo cute to hear her sing it :cutie: she`s only 2 1/2 :goodvibes

EE22- the heater will work......we`re all "giving it Pixiedust":grouphug: !!!!!! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

:lmao: :lmao:
Tomar...it's the dust inside I'm worried about.

I'm behind again with all these posts and it's late on a Sunday and I have to go do "stuff". Will get caught up again soon....have a good week everyone!!

raining again here:rolleyes:
