MKY - Welcome home! :cool1: We missed you around here.

So, you will start to be a light packer eh? I pack for 4 days when going for 10 and do laundry. You get use to it and manage to fit it in when needed.

I hear you and TP2 about the prices next year and I am just looking at airfare. Sounds like owning at DVC will be even more economical as the years pass since the rates are going up so much.

I can't stand the idea of driving. It is 22 hours driving time from here and I just don't have it in me.

Welcome back mky!

I had a few balance issues with the mbts a few times...I think being tried didn't help either. I only wore the sandals though and not the tennis shoes...I thought my feet would get too hot.

Students come Wednesday...I think I'm ready.

Good luck with planning everyone :woohoo:
I think Tomar and I will want to try TRex next year!!

Pixie Dust for a code TP2!!

WELCOME BACK MKY:cutie: !!
We all missed ya too !!
Glad that Bug had the food situation under control and that you guys had a good time.....
I agree about the heat and Humidity in August in the World....In `05 when we stayed a the BWV....we eicided to WALK to the Studios from the Boardwalk......OMG:eek: ....by the time we got to the gate....I wanted to go back to the BWV to change from sweating !! YIKES !:scared:
I found this year`s weather in early July very comfy....more so than in Aug.....(as far as summer trips go that is ;) )....Im sure though that other times of the year are sooo much more cooler :goodvibes
We went once in Feb (Mr. Tomar had a business trip there) and the temps were in the 70`s during the day...but cool at night....Needed a jacket really....and for me....Im soooo used to being in the world in the summer ....I can`t bring myself to switch times of the year.....I hope March turns out to be a great month for you in `09....that may be your new "Disney trip Month" ;)
Can`t wait for pictures and to hear all about your time in the world !!!

Hiya everyone!:wave2:

TP2, Glad the wedding went well. August has alot of pluses for you. With a big family free dining works out well. :thumbsup2 And you get fireworks nitely. Just think we are getting too old.:scared1: The heat was our big problem. But max was as worn out as bug and I. :confused3 So maybe it was not just us.

Candi, Looks like March 12th for 2 weeks. Weird cause its 21 hours from here. We hopefully would leave thursday after work 4pm and drive straight through (easier going than coming home) and get there friday afternoon. stay till a week from wed or thursday march 25th or 26th? And attempt to drive straight back, but leaving room to stop if we are too tired. Are you still going in March?

EE22, I wore the tennis shoes more, not used to the sandals. I return to work tommorrow. :upsidedow Hope it doesn't get crazy immediately.

Tomar, that is along walk from bwv. But I can top that. We spent the day at epcot, exhausted decided to take boat to dolphin and have a burger at the fountain. So we had parked at BC. Too tired to walk to BC, or wait for the boat> we took a cab to our car. :rolleyes1 The ultimate in lazy. Max was thrilled. We asked for a cab at the dolphin, and they brought out the limo, cost 10.00 for our ride next door.

Well, I am trying to figure out 09'. If we go in March, and skip the summer, think I am interested in October. Warm enough to swim, and 80's. Would rather skip the food and wine festival (that is nuts) but MNSSHP is a blast. I need to get 2 trips out of those ap's. If we drive again we get to see fall color.

mky:cutie:

So here is my theory on the price increases...marketing feels that the better the discount the more people will feel they HAVE to take advantage of the deal. Even if they were not planning on going to DW in the first place. So, they are increasing the cost of everything so they can give 50% off codes. They still make the same amount but the guest feels like they won lotto. What do you guys think?:rotfl:

TP2 - do you have wedding photos to share? I know what you mean about marking the rooms up then giving a discount but it would not be a sound marketing strategy. More likely the cost of fuel pushing the cost up and the fact that someone has to pay for the free dinning offer.

MKY - we are leaving March 12th after work as well. We fly out at 9 pm and land at 11:40 pm. I have us booked at the Holiday Inn near the airport for the first night so we don't have to make our way to any resort that night. Plus it will be cheaper. In the morning, DH will go pick up the car and then we are going to stay a nights at the Nikolodian Holiday Inn or maybe AKV - not sure yet. We are on the Magic from the 14th to the 21st.

To get the cost of flights down we are not coming home until Monday night (the 23rd). We had planned to add a couple of days but it ended up being reasonable to fly late at night and add the two days at the end. I paid $280 each so I was within budget. We have to figure out where to stay for the extra nights still. I won't love all the moving around but we will live out of suitcases for the single night stays.

I can't imagine trying to get to Disney the first night. I will be dead tired as it is. Maybe it will work out better than the 7am flights in the end.

EE22 - good luck with the start of school. We still have two more weeks here. The kids are going to Cedar Point in Ohio for the day with my sister on Wednesday so I hope the hurricane storms don't make it this far by then.

MKY :cutie: ....I was hysterical laughing at what you guys did:rotfl: ....NOT at you....but WITH you...What a GREAT Idea about the cab !!!! :cloud9: ... I don`t know what possessed me to ask Mr. Tomar to walk that particular time :scared1: ....We always took the boat...but....someone mentioned that the walk to the Studios was almost the same as the walk to Epcot.....NOT !!!:sad2: ...LOL.....;) ....we survided it though..... BARELY !!

TP2- My theory is .....the people that aren`t familiar with Disney Resort Prices will ...YES...think they are in "Discount Heaven".....when in reality...."WE.....know better than that " !!!! :rolleyes1 ;)

Hey everyone! Hope everyone is doing well. I have a quick panicky question! I just got an e-mail from Disneyworld.com with my confirmation - but in it it says I have park hopper passes for 4 days (which I changed about a month or so ago to 5 days) but on the website it says I have it for 5 days like I should. Has anyone ever run into this problem?

Hi Tiff!
Sorry, I am an AP holder for many years, so have not bought tickets or packages. :confused3 My suggestion would be to call and double check, also I would take a copy from the internet showing your 5 passes. Good luck, mky:cutie:

:wave2: Hiya everyone! :wave2:

Got cancelled today, so cleaned house. Almost caught up. :laundy: Looks like we are decided in driving, for march. Hopefully that will go well.

TP2, I think your right. Sounds like you have it figured out. :lmao: :thumbsup2

Candi, sounds like we won't run into each other.:upsidedow Maybe next time.

EE22, yesterday on my way to work, all the kids for high school, standing out waiting for the bus, I thought nooooooooooooo, nooooooo, poor EE22 here they come.

Tomar, it was a stroke of genius. or just lazy:rotfl:

Well returned to work, yesterday, not bad, missed some drama which is always good, but otherwise, not any problems. Looks like we are about ready for fall. The big candy shop here is already selling carmel apples.:scared1:

mky:cutie:

mky....they came! It's been a long two days and I hope I'm not in a coma tomorrow afternoon. I hope the crazy times end by Monday. Classes are huge, but I have one smaller one which is great.

I hope everyone else is doing well.

My room was above 85 yesterday so the cool rain today was GREAT!!!

EE22 - we did back to school shopping today and DD10 complained because I would not let her buy a new outfit :scared: Long sleeve shirt and jeans...It is 90 degrees here today and that is what she thought I should buy her for the first day of school.

I buy pencil cases, back packs and supplies, nothing else.

I think they are getting spoiled because back to school does not include new clothes in this house. We get those when the weather changes and we still have a few more weeks of summer like weather here. It is too early and too expensive right now. By the end of September everything will be on sale.

Anyone else have this battle with the kids?

Well...I can tell ya one thing NOT to wait to buy...a graphing calculator! They run sales in late July and now even Walmart is completely SOLD OUT! My students told me Wed night there were NONE left. They were in a panic, but for now they will survive with a scientific calc.

The battle over fashion...it's just beginning:goodvibes I did get DD jeans though because we had a 40% off coupon and they were all $10 off.

Hiya everyone! :wave2:

EE22, sounds like your settling in. How many days left? Have your kids ever been in your class?

Where did you guys decide to stay for 09? I know akl-villas but> the main building or the other one? Any news on the contempary's villas?

TP2, I bet they charge more for the CBR's pirate rooms. They where really interesting, and a great idea.

Still not sure where we want to stay next year. Thinking if we want to try something different? I know, I don't want to move next time thou.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, mky:cutie:

Hi mky...I hope you have recovered.

I hope you all had a good weekend. TP2...summer is coming to an end for you soon.

175 days left of school:lmao: I feel I can make it now that 3 are done!!
It was so HOT on Friday in my room...I melted about 9 am, but this week it's only in the upper 70's and low 80's so I should be better off and low humidity.

We are going to stay in Jambo House one more time since Kidani won't be done and I don't fancy a construction view. I requested a sav. other than Sunset too to avoid the construction as much as possible. It's suppose to be open May 1st and done in Sept but I've been there done that with construction and it's never done on time. We will go investigate Kidani while we are there. Besides...I won't know where to request so I need to learn the ropes of the place first too. They were shocked that I didn't want Kidani when I reserved the beginning of August.

I haven't heard about the release of CR to DVC although I think the name is BLT...or something and a huge price per point is being discussed...like $140 per point which is just insanity all the way!!

hiya EE22,

What is BLT, stand for? That is crazy to pay that much:scared1: yikees, well maybe they won't be able to sell it and have to rent them cheap?:wizard:

The main building at akl is very nice, and closer to parking.:thumbsup2

We where exploring AAA and found a rate for march at cr / in garden that was not to crazy, think i might look into that. :confused3 The tower is outrageous. Still not sure what we want to do.

Hey, my counter is down to 199! :dance3: :rolleyes1 :dance3:

My foot is still killing me from the trip. :sad2: I think we over did it. My ortho is gonna kill me.:scared:

Have a great nite, mky:cutie:

EE22 - what grade is that calculator for? DD13 (on Friday) is entering grade 8 and DD10 is going into 5.

I have had my DVC guide add a code so that I will get any information when they decide about the contemorary resort. I have not heard about the $140 per point but unless it is for 60 years, they won't get it. Way too much when you could book at the 7 month mark anyway. I can see them going to $114.

I love the Magic Kingdom. I would love to stay so close....so I might be tempted to do an add on.

MKY - in March we are one night at Orlando airport - due to late arrival. One night at Nikolodian Hotel (totally for the kids), seven nights on the Disney Magic and then we decided on two nights at Vero Beach for a change. The Vero Beach is a lot of points so I will be looking for a code if anyone sees one. There is no DVC code for it at this time either.

I know it is a lot of moving around, but for this trip, I am just going to plan for it. Anything under tree days, I just live out of the suitcases, so it isn't so bad for packing up.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Candi :wave2:

Vero beach, had a 20% off coupon in the official guide to wdw, last year (08 version) you might want to check into that. The new books will be out sept?

As long as your prepared to move. It sounds nice. I got a little upset with losing a lot of the day packing up and out.

good luck, mky

Bay Lake Towers....not sure if that is true or not. Rumors.

Kidani will have parking underground the building from what I have read. Who knows till it's done.

Sorry about your foot.

one. There is no DVC code for it at this time either.

For our advanced algebra class, the students need a graphing calculator which start in the mid 80 dollar range and the best one is $94. 9th graders use it, but most of the students are in 10th grade before having to buy it. So, 15-16 years old.:teacher:
