Whew ....... got caught up now! :surfweb:

Yes TP2 - I am feeling better - Thanks! :goodvibes Spent a few days in the recliner (more comfy than laying flat on my back in bed!) and I think I'm pretty much back at full throttle!

Just one more opinion for what it's worth ...... We stayed at POR last year (I think - maybe 2006) for a long weekend & absolutely LOVED :cloud9: it!!! We got the room with the trundle but ended up not using it b/c we only had DD10 & DS8 (I think they were like 6 & 8 or 7 &9 at the time) and they just shared a bed - no biggie.

The kids loved the pool area & waterslide. DH & I loved the hot tub - especially at night! We also really enjoyed the scenic walk to the main pool area from our room. The kids learned the way quickly and always ran ahead of us!

The boat to DTD was great too! It's a very scenic ride. :cloud9:

Oh - one our favorite things to do was go to the lounge area and see Bob the Piano man! He was a blast. Even though it was a "bar" area, there were plenty of kids in there laughing & singing. Bob was very entertaining and engaged the crowd in his activities. The kids have been asking to go back & see him! :rotfl:

It sounds like if you get all that WITH the dining plan, it might be a good "value" to stay at POR. :confused3

With a family of 5, the extra space is very nice too! We love the extra space the Deluxe resorts offer - have stayed at Poly, CRT and Boardwalk - we are considering Poly & Yacht Club for July this year. The $204 rate is awesome for the Poly!!! That's where we stayed in 2002 and paid $222/night then!

I'll send extra PD your way for the decision making process! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

I was getting the car serviced so I had time to sit and figure some numbers. Basically it is $30 per night cheaper to stay at FW cabins than to stay at POR with the meal plan. I planned on eating at least one meal out per day so we are now even. Really the decision to make is do we mind the distance to MK staying at POR and the confinement of less space. I am starting to lean more towards POR after I figured how tight the food budget would be at FW. Already, DD3 (who does not even know we are thinking of going back) told me that she wants to go to CRT. I think DH want Le Cellier, and Sci Fi is a must. We probably blew our food budget with only 2 meals. Thinking POR is definately the way to go. Thanks for the info Mouseaddicts.:thumbsup2

Hiya everyone,

Its snowing here. So look out, it is on its way.

That is so strange that you both went to the same school. What does FIT stand for? I am guessing something like bravo station: Parson school of design with tim gunn? That sounds like a great career. When I was in high school, I wanted to be a professional dancer (had a gym teacher, thought i had some talent) in ny. a rockette' Only problem is i am 5'1". Pretty sure I was too short for that. :confused3 Then I was joining the airforce when I got out of nursing school and still didn't make the height requirement. I have to face I am a runt.

mky:cutie:
MKY- TP2 gave you the Tech name for the college....Fashion Institute of Technology.....I was going to be the next "Donna Karan" of the world...and yes...I started out following my dream...until I found out my Dream was being:
"DisneyMom of 2 boys"....and I was quite happy with that title for years !;) LOL
Snowed here in NJ this morning too !! GRRRR :headache:

Thanks everyone for the Pixie Dust. FIT stands for Fashion Institute of Technology. It is really a weird coincidence that we both went there. Tomar followed her dreams though, I got burnt out. When I tried getting a job in my field the pay was $7 per hour. I was still going to school for a BA and needed more money than that. Wound up waitressing to pay for school and never went back to design. Got a job after college planned business meetings and conventions, then DD's came along. The rest is history.

I mentioned our coinsidence to all the Tomars last night TP2- :goodvibes
It`s a small world after all !!!!!! LOL
Mostly everyone that graduated "Art and Design" in the designing area went to F.I.T....I was priviliged to be able to work in the feild for a while ...yes....Im very grateful to have had that opportunity !!:cloud9:
I know your mind isn`t made up yet about what Resort you are going with...
I think you know my vote is for POR also !!
More PD for the decision making !!pixiedust: pixiedust:

Our first visit to WDW will be in June 08. Can't wait. Have already bought the girls' princess dresses for their Princess Breakfast in EPCOT.

We are trying to keep it a secret until the day we leave... if I can keep my mouth shut.

me:yay: hubby:teacher: Grace princess: Emmaprincess:

We booked our flights for June on Sun Country out of Minneapolis for $737 for 4 with tax. We thought that was good.:cool1:

Congrats to you GMMom on your first trip to the world!!! party:

Word of warning: it's totally addictive!!! :dance3:

Most of us have been several times ........ ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS!!!! There is absolutely no such thing as "over-planning" for a trip to the world! :goodvibes

What are your dates in June?

When we went for the MNSSHP in 2006, we just told the kids "We have to drive down below Atlanta. Y'all can eat in the car & go to sleep. We'll wake you up later." We left on a Friday night after ball practice. Of course, DD8 (6 at the time) wakes up like 2 miles before we hit Disney property! He looks around and says from the back seat "I feel like we're at Disney World!" :rotfl: He saw the arch & woke up his sister! So, I guess we managed to keep it a suprise right up to the last minute!

Good luck!!! :hippie:

Right ladies???

when are you going?!! Cause I'm going June 9th-16th!

Congrats on your DisneyMoon!!! :cloud9:

DH & I had our at WDW in 2003 - 5 yrs this April! I don't know if we're going back for our anniversary this year, but we might decide to at the last minute since it's on a Saturday! We've been known to drive down on Friday night & drive back Sunday!! :rotfl:

We stayed at ASMusic for our DisneyMoon & had a great time! We've been to Movies before & enjoyed it as well. We've never stayed at Pop, but are thinking of giving it a whirl for Memorial Day weekend. Good luck making your decision!!!

hiya everyone!

TP2, POR > did you know this was the closest of ALL resorts to MK (not considered mk resorts). We learned the back entrance to MK when we stayed at pors. The road the fw is on, is the road the connects to PO street. If you look at the map for FW that is the same road that the pors buses use for mk. We where many times the earliest people at opening at mk cause the bus ride is so short. And you do not go through the main entrance (parking lot entrance) you come in on the side. So it is really not far. It is probably about the same time frame as the boat to fw? Neither is far in my opionion. 1 expense to figure in to the FW price> the price of the golf cart rental. When we looked into it, and saw (wl bus shared with fw) the large area and the fact you can't drive your car around looked into a golf cart and price per day was as high as my rental car. you also had to reserve them early cause they go fast.

Mouseaddict's glad to hear you are repairing well.:thumbsup2 Congrat's on your adr's.

Jen & Grace congrat's on your trips.:dance3: Disney is a special place You will have a magical time. :wizard:

Had the bone scan today and no fracture. :woohoo: So see md on friday and probably another shot. I will be happy to take that instead of a cast.

Happy Planning! mky:cutie:

Tomar: You were definately lucky to work in the field. They worked us so hard at FIT that I got to a point were I hated doing projects. I never thought that would happen but the Interior Design program was hard core. Way different than I thought it would be. It really is a small world. Funny how things work out.

MKY: Thanks for the info on POR. I actually tore out the old Birnbaum book from our first trip and they have travel time from resorts to the parks. All Stars have the shortest travel time to every park. I was shocked.

So happy you got good news on your foot. Hopefully it will keep getting better.

So I have to say that it was much easier when DH did no have an opinion.:rotfl: He is making me nuts. He wants the dining plan and because I introduced him to FW, he wants 2 rooms. He does NOT like FW from the pictures so now he is thinking 2 rooms at a value resort and the dining plan. I know that financially it makes sense but I really have no desire to go back to the values, even with the extra space. I would much rather go back to POR. There is just so much to do and it is beautiful, plus the fridge. I guess the hunt is still on!

Okay ladies: Here it is:scared: ...All Star Music, 2 rooms, August 18-28 with dining plan and 10 day passes. Phew...More work than I expected. Now we need to decide on ADR's. I know he is going to want any dinner with a steak. I have to start scouring the menus.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

TP2, I think you will be very happy with 2 rooms. Just think 2 bathrooms:worship: & 2 tv's:banana: We will miss you by 1 or 2 days? Think we will fly home that fri nite or sat nite. Not sure yet. I always liked the all stars. You will have a great time & great health.
You need a new count down clock.

Thanks everyone, for the support. :grouphug: Feeling so much better knowing I am not getting a cast. :woohoo:

Happy Planning!:wizard: mky:cutie:

So happy that things went so well with the test...I know the shot...even though it`s painful. ..has to be much better than having to be put in a cast !!!

MKY - great news about the foot...see I told you there was something special about this group's pixie dust. :cheer2:

After the year everyone had last year, maybe everyone needs to send pixie dust every week. :grouphug:

TP2 - sounds like a wonderful trip. I am sure you will have a fantastic time together.

Here is some of the magical pixie dust for your ADRs pixiedust: pixiedust:

Okay all you fashion pros out there. The fashion challenged need your help. If I buy new furniture for the living room next year (wanted it now but DH's truck had a smashed windshield the other day and the water pump went) do I have to buy new carpet at the same time?

I drive the kids crazy with all of this sort of thing. I am partially colour blind and can't tell blue from black and such. If a colour is a mix (blue/green) I can't what it goes with. They want to decorate for me but 12 & 9 - everything would be the colour of Sponge Bob :lmao: :lmao:

Do you get time to design for your own house, or it is complete chaos like mine is? :scared1:

party: party: party: party: :jumping1: :jumping1:

Boy...I missed a lot.

GREAT news MKY!!:cool1:

GREAT news for you too Mouseaddicts.

:woohoo: :woohoo:

We are getting another storm:mad:

I haven't caught up yet, but maybe this weekend.

EE22: Not sure if you thought about this, the dining plan price stays the same even during the holiday period. I know you are paying for 4 adults but you may still come out ahead.

I ran the numbers and it's more expensive than our total cost of food and we eat two TS each day...breakfast and dinner and then the boys eat lunch too. Not sure how, but they do!!

Wow, I guess you priced out with the deluxe plan. We are doing the regular plan which is enough for us because the kids can't sit through 2 sit down meals a day. I am actually looking for some double credit meals so that we have a couple of days with no sit downs. I guess the extra expense of the kids being counted as adults kills it. When I ran the numbers for us, the savings on the adult plan was small, almost break even. For us, it was the kids that put us over the top. They are only $9.99 and most kids meals are $7.99 so it is like getting a snack and counter service for free. Plus some of the character meals are more than $9.99 for the kids and we will be hitting them.

Thanks for all the pixie dust everyone. I want some right before the trip to guarantee good health. I am now going to investigate trip insurance. I was pricing it out yesterday. Looks like a $120 investment but we will probably stay healthy if I spring for it. Last summer, the deductible on her medicine was more than that because we used Turner Drugs. If anyone ever has a problem, take a cab to CVS. Don't let Turner deliver to the hotel. Big mistake. You live and you learn.

MKY: Sorry we are going to miss you. It would have been fun to meet in person and not only on the phone.

Now I just need August park hours to post. I guess I have to wait a bit longer.
