My apologies re: DDE. I thought your AP had to still be valid to use it, which it looks like it doesn't. I swear I thought I'd been asked for this a few times, but maybe it was just my regular i.d. I do remember that most times we were'nt asked for anything and I guess those few times must have been a regular i.d.

They should know the rules but you may have many new seasonal CM's in training now & they do not. That is not an excuse though for them not knowing, but may be the reason... ;)

It's that time of year I guess. I remember last year I went to the AKL desk and asked how many times my DH and DS had been into Quest on their MYW ticket and after being totally frustrated with this clueless CM, I just walked away when she went to get someone else. She tried to tell me that since they were at Quest 3 days and the parks 4 days that 7 days were used on their tickets. That's sad!! Those are the basic tickets that everyone has!! Why was she working the front desk??? I heard her on another occasion offer CRT for the next morning to a couple. Maybe they got in, but I highly doubt it. I avoided her after that!

Hi everyone and Happy Mothers' Day!

I didn't post at all this morning, but I was here checking the sites with the rest of you! I did call CRO yesterday about a separate issue. I had noticed online that a more affordable view room had opened up at one of our resorts during our stay, and I wanted to see if they had the same view available at AAA rates. While I was on, I mentioned to the CM that I was looking to downgrade our rooms while staying at the same resort because there weren't any AP codes. He kind of chuckled, but didn't share any info one way or the other. (For the record, I didn't intend to book a room that was more expensive than we'd like so that we could apply the AP code. Unfortunately, when we booked our rooms only the more expensive rooms were available, so we're really feeling the pinch without AP codes...even with the AAA discount.)

The last couple of calls I've made to CRO - to make minor changes or room requests - the CMs haven't said anything about there not being codes, but also haven't given any indication about when to hope for them. They just reminded me that when and if codes were released, I could apply them to my current room ressies. I just wish they would come out and say "No, there won't be any AP codes this summer," or "We'll be making an announcement about availability (or lack thereof) of discounts on __ /__ /__ ." At least I could let myself sleep in a little later in the morning! We'll be keeping our current ressies with or without codes. The only thing that would change that is if a more affordable room opens up at AAA rates, we'd slide down if we could. I was just really hoping that we could save some $$$ on our resort costs since the airfare was so much more than we've ever had to pay in the past! If we got a DING for our dates (unlikely since we have to fly Fri-Sat) we could save $450. AP discounts could save us another $480 or more! I'm not holding my breath, but I'm still trying to hold out a little hope for our July dates.

Here's hoping for any news soon!

I wouldn't want to be a TA right now. I'm sure they have some unhappy people out there with no ap rates for the summer. Most people take it out on the messenger.

We finally gave up and cancelled our POR June stay and booked July 12-21 POR with AAA! Hoping maybe for a July AP rate now! We are actually booking our first night off site since even the AAA is higher than we were hoping for. We are glad though for the AAA discount, anything helps! I am skeptical about June codes but maybe July! :confused3

It's true that it isn't always asked for, but I've had it asked for a few times. The terms of use indicate it's required and I guess for me I'd be too embarrassed to take the chance, but that's me! Just wanted to put it out there in case some didn't know it's an actual requirement whether enforced or not.

Believe me, I always have my AP with me just in case. I would never want to take a chance either because it would embarrass me to no end! I was just relaying my experience with it.

6:00 am -->
Good morning!
:surfweb:
No news at any major sites and no updates to the dates at the Passholder site. Hang in there!

Still rainy and cold here. I need :sunny:

I'll trade you my :sunny:
for your cold and rainy!!!!

I love cold and rainy and
I am sick of the constant stifling heat, and I'm sure there's another 5 months of it to come. :sad2:
I guess the grass is always greener....

Like most others, I am very surprised at the lack of AP/FL res rates for June. We've been traveling at the same time of year since the early 90s (with occasional stops in other months) and we have only been "shut out" on one occasion. Even on that one occasion, there were AP rates. We were simply not able to obtain one for our resort/room category. :confused3

If there are no AP rates, it surely means the parks will be packed in June! Thank goodness for experience in touring and knowing the ins and outs of handling the crowds!

I won't give up completely until I'm on the plane. . .then again, with a trip planned for 6/8--a release after 6/3 would be cutting it very close indeed! If I had known about the April-early June AP release, I would have simply scheduled our trip to begin on 6/1! By the time those rates were released we had already booked airfare. . . Live and learn I guess--at least we got a good deal on airfare! :thumbsup2

This weather is very weird for us. We are usually HOT like FL by early June and never see fresh air due to our air. Very weird. Last summer we had on our air from about mid May till the end of September.

We couldn't go any earlier so I'm with the only dates I could go, but like you, I did get good airfare. When I called about ticket questions yesterday the CM I talked with indicated no codes for the entire summer, but what does he know? I think at this point it will be after Memorial Day if we see them at all. Some people are moving trips to July and August which will fill those rooms as well.

You know, I was thinking about the crowds and this is what I think. Every year we go around the 9-10th of June and the hotels are always FULL. Each year AKL has no rooms available. I think it's the same this year, but they are full without discounts so I think that the crowd levels will be about the same. I think a bit more by the end of June, but not horrible. I hope that made sense. We are early risers so I'm not worried about that. I think you'll be better off than we are as most schools won't be off yet in the entire country.

I also have stifling heat and humidity, I'd like to trade for some cool and useful wet.
Mornin' all. I'm still hoping for codes...

Good morning, :grouphug:

Not really hopeful here either. and we have the same weather. Weather guy just said cold and rainy through next week. :confused3 yuk!

Just rechecked sites, (just in case) and nothing changed. Sis talked to a talkative cm last nite, and said they didn't know for sure, but she was very doubtful, at this point, but we could keep trying.
