June/July/August 2006 Code watch

Thanks guys! I was just trying to figure out if I needed to wait for these codes before I made my reservation or go ahead and try to rent points. I'm a high school guidance counselor, so I'll be off all summer! So at least my dates are flexible. But I'm just afraid everything will fill up and I won't get my reservation. :confused3

I don't know if everyone's been watching the code/rate board tonight but they are releasing a HUGE deal for August/September dates tomorrow, WHAT ABOUT JUNE/JULY??? It looks like we may have been passed up, I can't believe it.

I was thinking the same thing. They must really be booked June/July.

oh no does that mean we need to book an august trip ? lol i dont think i have anything planned that month

I wonder if this is Disney's reaction to the good rates at the S&D for that time frame?

Wouldn't that just be so special? Once again, DVC & AP holders get the shaft.

Can't see them announcing Aug & Sept promo, skipping June & July.

:wizard: perhaps AP rates only?

Do you think this will be instead of AP rates in August or that they will come out too???

Yea.... I just don't get it!! :confused3

So....if nothing comes out for June.... looks like Disney looses out because we will just keep our ressie at Swan. And I won't end up getting an AP.
What are they thinking??? :confused3

I am currently planning a trip for July 5 and hoping for an AP discount. I called and spoke with a very nice CM and he priced out a new trip for me August 15 with the new code. I explained my situation and asked if this code meant no AP rates and he said ABSOLUTELY NOT and kindof chuckled. He said that AP rates are only out until June 3 (no der!) and that future AP rates will definately be released for after June 3. The summer won't be skipped. I felt MUCH better after speaking with him.

Now my question, it is hard to compare because I am not sure what kind of AP discounts we will get but I am originally planning on staying at AKL from July 5 - 18. We booked a standard room for the $205 per night. The least amount for an AP discount was $75 so that is what I am planning for figures. That would make the room $130 per night x 11.5 % tax + $753 for 10 day MYW base tickets + $750 for food (we have the discount card and eat b'fast in room) = $3387.35

The new code would be $2056.40 to stay at POR for 8 nights (maximum for package). This includes the 10 day MYW ticket for my party. I would just have to add 5 nights with AAA discount for our additional stay, grand total $2790.91. I am wondering how many days I can still use meal vouchers beyond the original package. I am also losing the deluxe and getting moderate, so I am not quite sure if I am really saving.

Does anyone know what the discounts were last year? They were a specific $$ amount, weren't they? And were there AP discounts (even little ones?) on all hotels-value, moderate, deluxe? TIA for any information.

That makes me feel better, thanks!!! We are going August 7 - 18 and since we would only be able to use the free dining plan for the last 5 nights of our stay, it just doesn't make good money sense for us to give up the AAA discounts on the whole trip plus buy the 1 day base ticket to satify the free dining deal. Our best bet is definately AP rates. SOOOON I hope!!! :goodvibes

Ok to me it looks like buying DVC points is a good deal. I entered my dates in the points calculator for 10 nights at OKW it is 386 points. I don't know how to do it but if this is how you just rent that many points (if you can get that many) at $10.per it would be $3860. Doing it on the Disney website it is $7020. Did I do it wrong????? :confused3

We are going in July and are stuck with the dates of 12th-18th because of DH's family reunion. I was reaaaalllyy hoping for some kind of discount. This is our first family trip to WDW and we are really blowing the budget for the trip. :guilty: With the new code, does this mean that they have completely skipped the June/July crowd? :confused3 I had been keeping my fingers crossed, as we are doing the 7-day PH + dining and staying at CBR. Oh well :surfweb: guess I'll keep watching.

Last summer we stayed at AKL and POR w/an AP rate. With taxes, we paid $154.90 for a standard at AKL and $121.54 at POR. Our AKL stay was during deluxe regular season (before July 5), and POR was regular season for moderates (early July). AP rates were a specific amount off values, moderates, and deluxe rooms, but I don't recall exactly how much it was. (Someday, I will be organized enough so I can find everything!) Hope this helps!

I dont get it. June and July may be pretty well booked, but how many peiple are going to cancel those ressies for aug/sept thus leaving rooms open(unless they really think they need the rooms) surely they are not turning people away. I done need the dining anyway, seems like a pain to plan your day around meals. We eat mostly in the cabin anyway, with a few cs meals and one signature dinner. A room only rate or a an ap rate would be great! Sure stressful waiting though

I'm just hoping for an ap code. I also don't want the dining because I don't want to have to plan my schedule around meals. We schedule 3 meals for the whole week (each of us picks) and for other meals, we eat were ever we happen to be.

I'm pretty sure they didn't have a general public code out last year because I used AAA room only to stay at BC for 3 nights. I looked and looked, but never found better.
