June Exercise Challenge - 54 Challengers and 40,537 minutes completed!!!

walked to dinner last night for a total of 50 minutes (we walked the long way to add a little more to add distance. :)

This morning I got up and ran at the college for a 70 minutes.

New total:

510/1200

So, I've been a slacker at updating, but not at actually doing it! I was at my town's Relay for Life Friday night, and am counting 60 mins toward my total. Then, just got back from a 5mi training run that took 75 mins to complete. This puts my total at:

425/1200 for the month! I'm thinking I may not reach my goal for the month, but I'm gonna keep trying!

Trotted on the lake trail this morning with DH and DD in the jogger 40 minute 3.1 miles.

225/700

Whew, I'm back in town and have officially updated everyone!

Congratulations to Chicago262 and longlivedisney for being the first to finish their challenges, with a week to spare!!!! Lime is truly beautiful this time of year.

My trip out of town was great but that and our current heat wave have made me pretty lethargic. I did manage to add 263 minutes this past week with walking and weights so my total is 1628/2000. I *think* I'll accomplish my goal by next Saturday but I'll have to be a lot more peppy.

6/19 135 minutes of mowing lawn

227/1000

2 hours mowing the lawn???? :scared:

6/18 60 mins bootcamp
6/19 30 mins trainer

Leaving tomorrow night to spend time with my Dsis. We're running a 5K on Thursday and going hiking at some point over the weekend. :)

Hope you've had a wonderful time.

I've done 300 minutes since my last check-in. A lot of walking and running, I'll get to that half marathon some day.;) I'm going to Puerto Rico next week but I'll try to keep track of all my activity.

That brings me to 690/1000.

Have a great time in PR!

Today:
45 minutes personal training - weights & core
45 minutes elliptical
20 minutes walking

New total 1810/2000

Thank you, Debbie, for keeping track of all of us!

It's been fun reading everyone's progress and quite a workout all on its own!

I haven't worked out since last Friday!!! I fell (while holding my 2 yr old grandson) and I've been so stiff and sore I haven't been able to work out. I'm going to my massotherapist today for a much needed deep tissue massage. She'll whip me back into shape and if I can walk tomorrow (lol) I'll head to the gym.

Good work everyone!

Yikes - glad you both are okay!

I keep thinking I am going to catch up reading everybody's posts so that I can respond to a few, but never seems to happen :confused3 so a blanket GREAT JOB to all of you braving the heat and moving about.

I walked 30 minutes tonight so I am at 735/900 I think. :cool1:

Ha, I think the same thing - this thread goes really fast!

Made it to the gym this morning for 35 min wt machines and 35 min cardio

780/1200

Good for you for going to the gym despite the soreness from that fall.

1481/1700

I soooo did not want to get out of bed for my 5:45 AM class, but thought of this challenge and yanked the covers off! :goodvibes

Still no run, but walks and I counted 15 minutes of picking strawberries. Of course, I was picking much, much longer. The field smelled so good as soon as you got out of your car! The weather was perfect and they were all a lovely red. mmmmmm I picked 11 pounds. Don't need to make jam as we still have some left over from last year, but I may do it anyway just cuz I have so much. Tomorrow I will make a pie and some strawberry spice bread to freeze then I suppose freeze the rest. Smoothies will be so yummy later in the summer.

Down to the final third of the month and everyone's doing a great job! Keep up the good work.

At 5:30 this morning, I thought about our thread while contemplating a big 8 mile walk...and kept thinking about the thread as I turned over to go back to sleep. Shame on me for giving in so easily but good for you for sticking with it. Payback will be tough for me this week - I've been slacking for a few too many days. And 11 pounds of strawberries?!?!??! Sounds delicious!

Busy busy week between the kids last week of school, work and I began a class...but I got in 3 more runs! Today my very own personal trainer (aka my 22 yr old son) came with me to help me out!

32 minutes Tue. 36 minutes Wedn. 42 minutes today!

New total 530/1000! :cool1:

I don't know if having your son be your personal trainer would be a good thing or a bad thing...:confused3

Made my goal yesterday after hitting the gym for my hour Werq class :cheer2: I'm at 1680/1680.

:yay: :yay::yay::yay::yay:

This week was bad exercise wise for me. I had a crazy shoulder pain on Wednesday that kept me from running and I was all over the place with job interviews Thursday and yesterday.
I can add 30 minutes strength training on Thursday and 40 minutes running today.
Today was our 5K and we had a great time. I came in just under my 40 minute goal so I am thrilled. I was so happy at the end I almost cried!

1055/1600

40 minutes is a great time, with or without a bum shoulder. Good for you!!!!

I haven't been posting lately but I kept track of all the exercise I did over these past couple of days. On Thursday I swam for 100 minutes. Yesterday, we went to the boardwalk and walked for a whopping four hours. That adds up to 340 minutes. 505+340=845/800. I did it everyone! I surpassed my goal! Congratulations to anyone else who achieved their goal or is coming close to it and good luck to everyone still going for it! :thumbsup2 :cheer2: :woohoo:

:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

8 miles today, 128 minutes

New total: 1058/1600

Ha - you're tearing me up on those long walks. Good job!!!

I did 70 minutes of Biggest Loser workouts Saturday and today I did 30 elliptical and 30 bike.
New total 1940/2000

6/24 29 minutes walking 3.2 miles per hour

256/1000

Debbie
And yes, 2 hours mowing. We have a big yard and we only have a push mower, it takes a while. LOL

30 minutes of taekwondo at the ATA world championships today (didn't do well, but had fun competing)

20 minutes of walking back from the rental car return to our airport hotel tonight.

1298/1500 for the month.

Ted

60 minutes warm up and 5k
30 minute walk

I've been nursing a hamstring and glute injury that was finally feeling good enough that I thought I'd be back to 90% next week...but I fell this weekend and reinjured the leg worse than before. :sad2:

So making my goal this month seems doubtful, but I'll keep doing what I can do!

Today I did 35 min wt machines and 50 minutes cardio I really, really want to make my goal this month.::yes::

Every planned trip to the gym gets thwarted by something. But on Friday, I did time with the Wii - Just Dance. And when I was done, it said "You just walked across Central Park and back"!"
So, adding 35 minutes to my total.

Now I am at 285/1000 for the month.

Ugh, I have not done much since this, I think this was my last update........my whole house has been so sick! We spent all day Saturday cleaning, wiping down surfaces with clorox wipes. So, since I have read that housecleaning is good calorie burn, and I did work up a sweat, I am adding some time for this.
Also, I have been house/cat sitting for a friend. And well, as a "visitor" at her complex, I am not allowed to park in the normall areas, I have to go to the 9th (read TOP) floor. Then walk down the ramp or stairs and then all the way to her apt at the other end of the building. 2 weeks of this - I know I will never move into this place! Adding time for that as well.

465/1000

I had another 90 minutes this morning:
45 minutes personal training (squats, weighted pull-ups and dips, bench presses, free weights, etc.)
15 minutes elliptical
30 minutes bike

New total 2030/2000.

Congratulations to Chicago262 and longlivedisney for reaching their goals!

Great job, everyone! I love to see everyone racking up the minutes, and I'm especially impressed by anyone with the personal fortitude to get outside. Wow!

45 minutes today. 40 on the treadmill and 5 minute abs.
I just typed out a rant about the woman who works at my gym but I lost it. Long story short I know more about fitness and nutrition than this woman and the "personal training" they offer is a waste of time.

Hello everyone!

I had a wonderful family vacation and got lots of exercise in! 885/850. I can't believe I will be well over my goal with the help of not working or commuting for a week!:goodvibes
