I'm getting really nervous now.........about two weeks ago I changed our room only ressie to a package. It took 1 hour and 20 min. on the phone with 2 different CM's to get things straight. (You would think it would be easy, because I was spending more money) :confused3
Now I called today to change my standard room to a perferred room. Everything is totaly booked at the POP!!!!
O.K. I know it is June and probably one of the busiest time to go.....but it is finally hitting me that the crowds are going to be huge!!! Did I mention that we usually go at the end of August/beginning of September! HELP!!!! Someone say something that will make me feel better! Please!!! :sad2:

I have the same concerns... ususally go in august, this year switched to June- had hard time getting a room ressie for the entire time- have to split our stay between AKL & BC for the week!
Now I see postings that there is no availability at all! Never have I seen this in disney and we have been going once a year for the past 10!
Am hoping it won't be as crowded as it seems, but it looks that way!

Lots happening in June! There is a Drum Corp show at the Citrus Bowl that brings in a big crowd on Saturday, June 24. That's the reason I am coming down at stayinga t VWL!

It is summer break, folks. The parks are going to be busy, but you are at Disney.

I was there over Easter a few years ago and the parks were busy, but they were tolerable. Have a great time!

Just go with the thought that it will be packed, realize you will have to wait in some lines and fight some crowds....but also know that Disney is always wonderful! We've been there during crowds and we've been when every ride was a "walk on". We just adjust our attitudes and everythng is great. Disney has a way of handling the crowds, just realize it may take longer to get through the park, warn your family and have fun....you're at disney world!!!

I had a difficult time getting an AP rate for June when I called a week after the May/June AP rates came out. Finally did get one at ASM. But then my work changed my vacation plans, so now I am looking at early August. I called 10 days after the July/August AP rates came out, and easily got my 1st choice hotel (POR) with my 1st choice dates. :) :) So, this makes me wonder that June will be absolutely packed but maybe August won't be as bad!

But perhaps people are picking dates earlier in the summer to avoid the peak hurricane season, which is August and September.

I'm going in June too. When in June are you going to be there? We will be there June 11-17th. We are also staying at POP

I'll be there June 11th-18th (WL) and also had major problems getting a reservation. We booked in the beginning of May, and all the mods were booked except a suite in CSR that would've cost $5000 for 7 nights vs. $2000 and change for a standard room in WL. Music was the only Value available at the time.

I'm hoping (probably foolishly, but still hoping nonetheless) that what's happening is more people are staying on-site rather than off-site this year because we've never had this much trouble making ressies. It'll be crowded either way though, but since we usually go in July I'm used to it by now.

It is summer break, so it will be crowded, but keep in mind that the value resorts are going to fill up first, especially Pop! We went last June, it was crowded, but we had a good time anyway! :cool1:

We made our reservations for a room in January for middle June. Called and tried to add an extra day on a month later and couldn't at POR. Tried changing dates for June with no rooms available. We finally just decided to switch to early August for money reasons. Glad we did. Looks like June is going to be crazy. Even our TA found it really odd that the rooms were so full for the dates we had wanted in June.

If you've been before and you know how to plan ahead, the crowds are not a problem. When I have friends who are first timers, I tell them to avoid the busy times, cuz they feel the need to do 'everything'. And when it's that packed its just not possible.

Just remember, get an early start, most people hold off til mid-morning then head back to the room and the pool during the busy times (or head to DTD for some shopping). Then head back in the late afternoon or evening when those with little kids are heading out.

Remember to plan ahead, know where you want to go and what you want to see. And plan your days so you don't hit the parks on the 'wrong' days (ie, MK on Monday, etc.) I know people love the Early Entrance days, but those are the days I avoid, since they tend to be more crowded.

We always go in June because I'm a teacher. The last two years AKL has been completely booked. We have always been able to do all that we wanted except move things around due to the rain :) because of the parades called off due to the weather. Last June after DD and I ate at CRT on a non EMH she rode BTMRR 7 times in a row with no wait. We made it on Dumbo first too before we went over there.

We use fast pass, make ADRs, and use the FDP for Fantasmic! We have always had a wonderful time. If you plan, you'll be fine. We use only Disney Transportation too and we are always fine. :cool1:

We can't wait. It may be our last time due to my kids' summer schedules too so I'm going to enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!!

You'll have a great time. There really aren't slow times there anymore anyway are there? :confused3

by the way, I absolutely hate crowds with a passion...I Christmas shop in July to avoid crowds and I am not bothered by them in the least at WDW :) The people make me nervous, but I do okay there.

It was nice to read that there may be small windows of opportunity to ride with little or no waits!

When we visited in December of last year, there was a lot of "slow" time to do what you wanted to do at your own pace.

I think that with planning and patience and more importantly "resonable expecatations" June is very do-able, you just have to let go of the "I have got to do everything" mentality......

This will be our third straight year going at the end of June. Yes, it is crowded, but manageable. The most important thing is to have a plan. I am not talking a commando plan, but know what you want to do. I too, avoid the EMH days, because those crowds can be intense. We have always had a wonderful time in June. :flower:

Last year I was able to get a room at AS movies the week before we left (June 19-26). This year nothing but deluxe were available 3 months out. Also this summer no room only discounts (expect for AP holders). Our plan this year is go early, stay late, leave during the middle of the day. With my kid’s school starting back August 8th, we can't do August, which should be less crowded. I'm trying to get my wife to go just before Chrismas, it would be great for the lack of crowds and the holiday feeling.

We are going June 18-24 - staying at the Poly (1st time) Yeah!! Three years ago we went to Disney during the first week of June. It was crowded and waits were anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes. SInce we had never been before, we didn't know that it could be any different. It will be busy, but have fun anyway.

Going June as well.. first time for me too! Usually go in August.
staying COR june 16-19
then BWV June 19-23rd

I know it will be crowded but thankful I have done parks many times before. Guess I will just have to wing it,.,.wait and see.
not going with any major plan...if it just gets too crowded, I will go back to hotel and swim

Our family finds it hard to "burn the candle at both ends." It works for perhaps two or three days, getting up early and going to bed late. At some point we hit a brick wall and we all just want to not even go to the parks.

I think we are going to sleep in most mornings (effectively losing out on prime morning riding opportunities), and making the most of evening EMH when available.

We do plan to wake up early on our 2 seaworld days... lol
