June Crowds "Oh No"!

We have never been at a peak time before, and I am really getting nervous at the thought of maximum crowd levels. We are going to be at the parks when they open, but I still am freaking a little at the thought of shoulder to shoulder crowds. I am so claustrophobic. Oh, well. I'll be in WDW so I'll have to just deal with it I guess. Maybe now would be a good time to refill my Xanax!;)

we'll be there 19-27 June....we expect it to be crowded, but have also planned a bunch of time away from the parks. We'll use FP to max advantage when in the parks, and people watch (what a fun pasttime) when we have to queue up. We'll take a couple of park tours, and just enjoy the week. Ain't nonthin or nobody going to spoil my vacation ! Just relaxing in the mouses comfortable arms. :earsboy:

The must have released more rooms because I booked our June 17-22 trip two weeks ago and we are staying at CBR.

It's summer vacation so I'm expecting it to be crowded.

This will be my 10th June trip to WDW (6/23-6/28). Their is also some group or convention during this time. I am a Chaperone for FBLA and the National Leadership Conference has totally booked both the Swan and the Dolphin. 4 years ago we did the same thing, and it was not a problem in the parks. On 6/25, MGM closes at 7 pm for a private party.

Not to worry, if you plan you will be fine. Early mornings in the parks, afternoons by the pool, then back to the parks for some late night fun, and you will have no problem at all. ;)

Is there a week during the summer that has the lowest crowd levels? or is the entire summer crowded? My kids get out of school the 3rd week in June and go back the last week in August. So I can go any week during the summer.

COOL EEyorelover22! I am the Advisor for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers High School! Indiana is a small group, so look me up at the opening session! How many NLCs have you been to?

We are leaving in two days, early June must be a bit less crowded than late June, I changed my reservations 4 times about two weeks ago and found that they had rooms at POR, AKL and CTR on all days that I adjusted.

I won't be with them...another teacher will be. When I said "our" I meant our school's FBLA. They will have a blast though. Many know what a Disney Freak I am.

Unfortunately, the crowds in June are some of the worst at Disney. Couple that with the heat and you will need to be prepared with extra doses of patience especially if you have gone in the Fall.

I was just at the parks this past week. It was pretty much dead right up until the Friday afternoon that the Memorial day weekend and official Summer vacation season started. Luckily, my flight left on that Friday around 6PM so I only had to brave the parks for a handful of hours...let me tell you though...HOLY CRAP!!! Those crowds were brutal! I could hardly move down the main walkways in Fantasyland. All the wait times were up to, at least, 35 minutes with the average wait of 55 to 60 mins. It took me 20 to 25 minutes just to get a burger at a counter service stop. That was the longest line I stood in during my entire vacation.

The KEY to going at a time like June is to arrive 30 mins before each park opens each and every day....NO EXCEPTIONS!!! Hit the major attractions first or grab fastpasses for a couple of them. Then get the heck out of there for a nap or hotel swim break around 11 AM when the masses start pouring in to make you truly miserable. Go back in the evening around late dinnertime and concentrate on less popular attractions and nightime entertainment. If you follow this type of plan, you will have a grand time. Trust me on this.

And yes, remember, you are at Disney World...the increased energy and vibe of the place during the crowded time is kind of exciting versus the dead seasons. I was there in Feb once...while I LOVED the empty parks, I found some of the dead areas really creepy.

Good luck and happy vacationing!
