June comes before August & the APs will still be valid! I think we're done here!

You need to look at the touring plans crowd calendar. They changed the way they express the data and are taking all four parks into account now, not just the mountains. Wow! The numbers for your dates changed, as did some of mine. I actually have a nine in August!:scared1:

Really? I saw they had changed the formula, but last time I checked it was 8's for the entire 2 weeks.

EDIT: WOW! ALL of my numbers have changed, and now there are NO 8's at all! Some of my days are like 4's! But what I wonder is if the crowds will really be like 8's using the old formula. Does that make sense? I am not sure if a 4 is going to be all that fabulous. The old formula kind of maxed out at a 10, meaning wait times over 100 minutes were just all lumped together. I think the accuracy has been tweaked, but I also think on the new scale that a 10 will be super scary. We shall see!

I am still not grasping the crowd calendar revisions. The thing I find most confusing is that ALL of my days were identical, and now they are all different. Um, shouldn't they all still be THE SAME, just adjusted by the new scale? Eh, whatever. We're not going to alter anything so we'll just hope for the best.

I have been thinking about shoes. I think I am bringing 6 pairs. Which seems excessive. But I can't figure out which ones NOT to bring. So I think I will bring 6 pairs. :thumbsup2

I still haven't decided on a tote for the water park.

DH is going to a camera buy-sell-trade thing tomorrow. He says his plan is to sell some of his equipment and replace it with Nikon stuff. Not sure how this will go in practice as opposed to theory. :rolleyes1

Yes, the new crowd calendar will take some getting used to. Someone said that a "new" 1 is like and "old" 5. That doesn't make me feel great about a new 8 or 9.

I'm already at 3 pairs of shoes for our trip. I've still got like 76 possible shopping days to change that!

The thing I love about going in August is that ALL of the summer stuff is on clearance by the end of July. :thumbsup2

I am still completely befuddled by the new crowd calendar. Obviously they needed to come up with some way to express values higher than 10, because there are days that is necessary. So OK, how can some of my days now be a 3 and some are a 7 yet they were all formerly 8? I asked them about it, and they said that I should still expect level "8" crowds by the former scale. What??? :confused3 I am not going to quibble about it, because it doesn't matter. The crowds will be what they are no matter WHAT sort of ranking we put on them. 8, 3, 497, whatever. My trip planning is done, so that horse has already left the barn.

My very clever friend Star has come up with a great idea! :thumbsup2
.

WOOT WOOT for your clever friend Star!!!! :lmao:

I had subbed to your TR and realized I have not had an update in my list in forever.....well because it is not on my list!!!!!!!

Opps!

It's PACKING WEEKEND! :cool1:
I will be packed in full (except for the things I need to use the morning of departure) by Sunday night. I will also have DS's things packed.

I still haven't put money in those tip envelopes. I should do that.

I got a confirmation e-mail from Owner's Locker, so that's all set.

I should phone our pet sitter to reconfirm.

DS took some magazines and old CD Roms to Half Price Books today. He made a whole $7.50. Which means he got about $.15 apiece. :rotfl2: But that's fine. It got some of the clutter out of the house and gave him a bit more spending money. :) He doesn't have as much saved up for this trip as he has for past trips, so every little bit helps.

DH has been scurrying around trying to get his cameras all sorted. I am trying not to get involved in that. ;) I did tell him I WILL NOT carry his stuff on the plane if it won't fit in his bag. I have to carry the laptop, so my bag will be heavy to begin with. I will not carry his magazines and whatever. Besides, one time he asked me to put his sunglasses in my bag on the plane and we never saw them again. The best we can come up with is that they fell out of my bag under the seat. That should be reason enough for him to want to carry his OWN stuff. :snooty:

I think the WDW insomnia is starting. I was awake at 5 AM, but I refuse to get out of bed at 5 AM on a Saturday when I am not going anywhere. So I got up at 6 AM.

DH is usually off on Saturdays but he traded days with a co-worker so he's working today. I think he wants to go to Borders later today to see if he can find a book about the Nikon. For some reason the owner's manual isn't enough.

DS just emerged from his room and went directly to the Wii. But that is fine, because now I can go rummage around in his closet without bothering him.

I need to get everything laundered and separated today, and tomorrow I will pack! I LOVE packing! :yay:

Crap. This is not going well. :headache:
There are at least 2 pairs of shorts I was going to pack for DS that are too small. Well, we can do laundry in the villa. But some of his shirts are too small, too. 4 shirts that I was planning to pack, actually. We seem to have a profusion of gray shirts, but most of his shorts are tan. I think tan and gray look funny together. The mall opens in 2 hours.

Back from the mall. Bought 3 shirts for DS. The one he tried on is too big. I am trying to shrink it. If that doesn't work I will go buy him the next size down. :headache:

I also realized I can't pack DS's shorts because SCHOOL ISN'T OUT! He is still WEARING them! His Nike basketball shorts aren't uniform compliant, and that is usually what I make him wear the week before the trip.

Oh no, school is messing with the packing mandate!

How do you pack? Are you a roller or do you stack them? I have an Eagle Creek packing folder that my DH uses for business trips and I use for NYC. I saw they are on sale at Container Store and I think I may go buy a couple more. They really do save space.

Happy packing!

I have never gotten the hang of rolling stuff to pack it, so I just fold. I try to match a shirt with shorts and pack outfits, that way I don't end up with odds and ends that don't match. Now, DS will dig in the suitcase for his favorites, so that doesn't always work. But if I pull his outfit from the suitcase and put it on the bed while he is showering he usually just wears whatever is out.

On my SECOND trip to the mall today I bought 4 more shirts for DS at Macy's, then I went to Nordstrom and bought him 2 more pairs of shorts. He has 5 of the plaid ones now, so I thought a couple more solid colors would be handy. NONE of the shorts at Macy's have an adjustable waist. Makes me crazy. The shirt I was trying to shrink is, of course, the only shirt in the history of the world that came out of the dryer the EXACT same size that it went in. From there DH and I went to Borders and he bought his book about the Nikon. So now everyone is happy. I think.

It's PACKING DAY!! WOO HOO!!! :woohoo:

I will probably have to start with carry-ons, because I can't lift the big suitcases without DH's help. He's at work.

Yay! Packing, packing, packing! :dance3:

Elizabeth's in her element and all is right with the world...

Eh, not so much. I can't find DS's carry-on, so that's throwing off my groove. I suspect it is inside my big bag. I did manage to pack DS's checked bag. But the thing with not being able to pack his shorts is making me fidgety. He has 6 pairs of shorts that I would like to pack that aren't packed - 5 to wear to school and one pair that was on his body. OK, so I can wash those next weekend and pack 2 of them. He will need 3 for school the first week of June and 1 for the plane.

I think there are 20 shirts and 12 shorts in his checked bag. I have 7 outfits ready to go in the carry-on, then I will just add those shorts wherever they will fit next weekend. Now I see why I have shirts left over. I haven't packed (or set aside) 30 total.

I think I have most of my carry-on stuff EXCEPT the clothes figured out. I also have a bunch of stuff for the Shoe Bag. Which has to also be nested inside my big bag, because I haven't found it. Of course DH's big bag AND his carry-on were very easily accessible. I need to rethink they way we stow the bags after the trip. He won't pack a thing until the night before departure, so it would be better if HIS bags were the inaccessible ones. :headache:

Huh. We have a suitcase I had completely forgotten about.

I packed DS's stuff in a black suitcase, but we had a blue one that was bigger so I moved his stuff to the the blue one. The other black one is the Shoe Bag, which means we have an extra random black suitcase. But we are only checking 4 bags this year, not 5.

I am mostly packed. DS is mostly packed. The Shoe Bag is mostly packed. I finally put money in my tip envelopes. I put DH's rewards dollars on the rewards card. I need to put cash for locker rental into an envelope.

I need to figure out how much to tip the captain on the Wishes cruise. 20% of the cruise cost would be $70. That seems rather steep.

I feel kind of scattered. That's why I like to pack 12 days ahead. It gives me time to remember other little things, so by the time we leave I only feel a LITTLE scattered.

How fun to be packing!!!:woohoo::woohoo:

Do you ever consider not packing one person's clothes all in one bag but having some of everyone's in each bag? That way if you loose a bag you all still have clothes.
