June comes before August & the APs will still be valid! I think we're done here!

Hmmm, so it sounds like you've done a lot of looking at menus and food prices, and done the number crunching...Does it make sense to just pay OOP for the meals, and not do a plan at all?

Yep. And that's what we have been doing. We have a TiW card, so that gives us 20% off our TS meals. The problem is trying to ballpark how much money we will spend on food once we get there. It vexes me. :headache: And it doesn't even really matter - we charge everything to the room, then roll all of that to a credit card to pay off when we get home. I just like to have some round estimate of food cost because I am a control freak. :rotfl2:

Forgot about the TIW...That rocks. Nice perk of an AP. Is there a cost to the card? Or can you just apply and get one for free when you have an AP? Sorry to bug you with silly questions. I like the idea of charging to the room and paying off the cc. You get lots of rewards points that way! Smart woman!! In your tags, what does the Jello Shot Chick mean? ;)

I have never consumed a Jello shot. It was a theoretical discussion that resulted in a tag.

The TiW card is $75, so you do have to weigh out how long it will take to recover the cost of the card. But we eat enough TS that it pays for itself pretty quickly. We bought our current one in December, so we are already close to breaking even. By the time you spend $400 on TS the card has paid for itself. 3 signature dinners takes care of that, no problem.

I was trying to count how many TS we did last year vs. how many we are doing this year. I think it is about the same.

The card actually sounds like a great value to me. Thanks for the info :) One day we hope to get an AP and make use of it! The jello shot chick made me smile lol. I figured it was something along the lines of what you explained. I don 't know why but I find that tag hilarious :rotfl:

Tomorrow will be 8 weeks until departure! :yay:

I am fidgety. I need something to plan. Or something to tweak. Or something to pack. :bitelip:

Not that anything comes immediately to mind.

You forgot buy something or does go without saying?:rotfl:

4 weeks from yesterday for me.:scared1:

You can come tweak, plan, pack, buy, or sew something for me.

After going through DS's closet I can not think of a single thing to buy for him. I mean, not even socks! The only thing he MIGHT "need" is a pair of swim trunks.
I really want to go back to Talbot's, but I am trying to wait.
DH probably needs some new stuff, but he will wait until the day before we leave to tell me what he needs.

There isn't anything I can really buy right now. :confused3 I left all of my liquids in the Owner's Locker. I'll need to bring full size sunscreen and a few other odds & ends, but I'll buy those later.

I don't sew. ;)

Your trip is close, and your 2 trips are close together, aren't they? Good luck with that! :rotfl2:

Are you going to do a grocery order? I get my sunscreen from them then I don't have to worry about it leaking in my luggage.

Joe is complaining that nothing fits. He said he didn't have any underwear to wear today but he had more than 10 pairs in his drawer. I told he'd either have to wear one of those or the ones he wore yesterday. He chose yesterdays so I went to throw all the others away if he's not going to wear them but he didn't like that idea and wore one of those. They didn't look too small to me. Must be having some sensory issues.:sad2:

I'll be home more than 2 months before I go again. I've gone twice in the same month before-that was actually great! I'll get 42 days on my AP and the girls will each have 26 days on theirs. Gotta make the best use of those APs right? I won't be renewing. After July I know I'm going for my big bday next May but I don't know when I'll go after that. BUT...Dorinda is already talking about going with Ralph again....I don't know how I could not go with them.:rolleyes1

DS will only wear underwear from the Gap.

We aren't doing a grocery order because by the time we pay the stupid delivery fee AND the mandatory gratuity it is cheaper to just buy what we need at Zawadi and be done with it.

I put the sunscreen in a gallon Ziploc and pack it in the shoe bag. Obviously this year we will leave it in the OL instead of dragging it back home. The thing is, we may skip WDW in 2011. I need to make sure I keep a record of the expiration dates on all that stuff so I will know what we need to replace. The majority of what we need isn't in the OL now because we were on a short trip when we got it. We didn't have any full size liquids with us!

AHHHH!!! So close!!! :yay::yay::yay:

I know what you mean about the planning lull. Ours was a last minute trip, so I had this mad frenzy of planning and now...nada...:rotfl: I WISH I could be buying things! I still have weight to lose before I can shop for anything. Resist the Talbots!!!!!!!!! The sales will come!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2:

We have a great Gap Outlet out East that you can get the boxers and all so cheap! It's great! I always go there for holidays and birthdays and such. :goodvibes:goodvibes

8 weeks until departure!!

So, DH managed to ruin a tire on his car yesterday. The odds of him getting that expensive new tripod are quite bleak now. They were bleak to begin with, but now? REALLY bleak!

I am conflicted about Talbot's. There is a shirt there that I REALLY want. I might go get it in one color now, and then if they mark them down and still have my size I can buy another one. Of course, this is assuming I like the way it looks when I try it on. I am not having much luck with shirts these days. :sad2: I am sort of trying to lose a few pounds, but I am not trying hard enough for it to actually help! :rotfl2:

I saw some super cute sandals at Marshall's, but they aren't practical for WDW. I don't think I am ever going out of the hotel again wearing shoes that can't be submerged. I am also having issues with my foot. I have been having foot issues for a year, but I am still not to the point of going to have it x-rayed or whatever. Something is wrong with the first metatarsal on my left foot. Some shoes make it almost unbearable, so I have to choose my footwear wisely. I returned a pair of Merrell sandals last year because I thought it was the shoes. It wasn't. It is my foot. :headache:

Talbots is based out of the town next to me.

I could keep on eye out for the shirt if it goes on sale plus we have an outlet store.

Stinks about the tire.

Tripods can be pricey huh? I have a cheap one (under $100) but the one and only time I took it to the park I couldn't get the camera in the position I wanted so I took it off. I have dragged it to WDW at least half a dozen times but only tried to use it that once. I guess I should try to figure it out at home and see if it would be worth taking with me this time.

Sorry about the foot issues too. I have foot issues. I have very narrow heals (the only narrow part of me) but wide bunions on my fore foot so if I get shoes to fit my bunions my heels slide around causing blisters and if the shoes are too tight on the bunions I get blisters there.:headache:

I can pretty much only wear sneakers in the parks. I have yet to find a sandal that doesn't rub on my bunions. I can wear Croc flip/flops for a little while but not all day long. Regular crocs don't give me enough support to wear all day either. I could consider surgery but the recovery is months and months and months. When could I give up walking for months?

I went to Talbot's today and looked at the shirts again, but just couldn't bring myself to pay full price for them. It's funny, I am ALL about name brands but I don't ever want to pay full price. :rotfl:

Bernadette, I will keep an eye on them for the next few weeks and see if they mark them down. If not, I might have you watch for me.

My boss has bunions, too. She talked about having the surgery, then she got pregnant with Pixie and she hasn't mentioned it since. :confused3

I saw some cute Ecco sandals at Nordstrom but I didn't try them on. Can't believe I spent over an hour in the mall and only managed to buy a cup of coffee. :sad2:

That stinks about the foot!! You gotta get that checked out mama!!!! Good for you for resisting the full price Talbots!!!! There will be markdowns!!!! Can't believe it's less than 8 weeks for you, and 8 weeks for me today!!! Craziness!!!!!!!!! :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Maybe I will section off my closet today. I like to separate my "WDW apparel" ahead of time, and put it in a dedicated section of the closet. I know there is at least one shirt I bought last year with the tags still on. There may be more. :rolleyes1

Gap had their polos on sale for $15. They were not bad, except the top button hole on every shirt was done in some weird color thread. :headache: I didn't like that.

It's going to be beautiful weather today. Not sure why I feel like I want to spend the day in my closet and/or at the mall! :rotfl2:

You know, the thing about clothes is this: If they don't fit it doesn't matter if they were a good deal. I went to the mall Saturday. Bought some Lands End shirts. I tried one on in the store and thought I liked it, then I bought some basic T's that should have been fine. Got home and tried everything on again. Didn't like ANY of it. :headache:

Yesterday I went to Talbot's and bought a polo, an embellished T, and 4 basic T's. For full price. But they fit. So there you have it.

I also sectioned off my closet yesterday. I found a plain white T that I forgot I bought, so I can probably return the plain white one I bought at Talbot's. Maybe. Since I don't need a white one maybe I will switch for a different color. The Talbot's basic T's fit like Jones NY Sport T's used to fit before they redesigned them. The Jones T's were my favorites, but NOW they fit weird so I don't buy them. Dillard's does have some really cute Jones T's right now though, so maybe if they get marked down...:rolleyes1

Good! I got a reply back from The Parking Spot! :thumbsup2 We have points to get some of our airport parking for free. We just print off a voucher for the free days, then pay cash for the remaining days. No problem. The thing that confused me was that our "reservation" would only show those first few free days. Hmm. OK, so if we reserve a spot for 4 days and then stay in the spot for 11 more days, doesn't that screw up their reservation template? :confused3 Apparently not, according to them. OK. Whatever.

Now I think I know why the entire lot was full a couple of years ago when we dropped off the car! People who are redeeming points for part of their parking only have a slot reserved for the days covered by points. The system thinks that spot will be empty after the last day of the reservation, but it isn't! Hopefully this will actually work the way they are saying it will.

:

This made me laugh. I bought two of those and didn't notice the odd thread in the top button until I wore the white one today. My oldest son (12 yo) asked if I lost a button and sewed it back on myself! Green thread on an all white shirt! Talk about Goofy.:lmao:

I am picky about things like that. I don't like polos that have the placket lined in some other color, I don't like buttonholes in another color, etc. The thing about the Gap polos is that they are so PROUD of that top button that it is one of the features highlighted in those GIANT window signs at their stores! :rotfl2:

So, I mentioned that I went to the mall on Saturday and bought some Lands End stuff at Sears. Decided I didn't like the shirts after I got home, so I needed to return them.

What I didn't mention was that on the way home from the mall on Saturday I stopped and bought a new car. This is good - I wasn't happy with my other car. BUT the bad thing is that now I am paranoid about leaving the car parked anywhere. Especially at the mall where I planned to return the shirts! YEARS ago I had all 4 of my hubcaps stolen off my car at that mall, and the area has gone downhill since then. So I hemmed and hawed over whether I should take the shirts back or wait until the weekend and take them back to the mall where I bought them, which is more of a hike but not in such a bad area. Well, the desire to have my $87 won out, so I parked at Package Pick Up and dashed in to return my stuff. :rotfl2: Those spaces are RIGHT outside the door, and since they were ALL EMPTY I figured I could park there for 5 minutes without it being an issue. The car was fine.

Now I just have one shirt that I might (or might not) return to Talbot's. Luckily the Talbot's malls are pretty safe. On the other hand, I might just keep the shirt so I don't risk door dings. ;)
