Is it really just riciculously busy at Disneyland in June? I know it is a peak time but what is June 20th to 28th like?

We were there a few years ago in the last week of May/First week of June and it was great crowd wise.

We were finally narrowing down our dates, 30th Aug - 7th Sept (not school holidays so would have to take DS out of school, but for his birthday) or 19th Sept to 27th Sept (inside school holidays so really the best time to go for us). and also those two date brackets are slightly cheaper accommodation prices too for Disneyland Hotel which is where we would like to stay.

Then a spanner has been thrown in the works today, with Qantas offering child fly free deals for travel up to July 1st. Now that will save us so much by not having to pay for the children's airfares to LA from Australia return. So we have to decide quickly as we only have until Friday 20th Feb to book this special so I'm really needing help from fellow Disers who are experienced with crowd levels at different times of the year and the best time to travel. We are now looking at April 20th to 28th (which is really sooner than expected so not as much time to plan but could do it, also have just been to Disneyland Paris in December so was hoping to go later in the year so it is not so close and I will be wanting to plan another trip do Disney by the 29th April :rotfl2: . Or we could go during our June July school holidays, and the dates would be 20th to 28th June.

What would you do, with regard to crowd levels, trip cost (accommodation is more expensive in June), rush and go in April 20th to 28th, go in late June or will it really be better going in September (where the accommodation will be cheaper and there may be more special airfares by then anyway)?

I really don't know what to do and I am the tour organiser so it's always me who plans these trips :crazy2:

I went around that time in June and it wasn't terribly crowded (compared to when I went in August), but there was a long wait for rides. I remember waiting over an hour for Indiana Jones. Personally, I would choose to go in September. Good luck with your decision. :)

We have always gone during the summer and the advantage is all the shows and rides are up and running. (Unless they breakdown, but not down for refurbishing). You can get alot done first thng in the morning. We went this year on Jan. 2 and THAT was crowded! I said I couldn't wait for summer when it wasn't so crowded. :rotfl: Use FPs, go to DCA in the afternoons and it should be fine. I'm basing this on years past. We will be there at the end of June too this year. I'm sure September is nice, but I wouldn't go out of my way to avoid summer. Of course, weekdays are better than weekends.

My first rec. would be the later part of Sept. Local schools are back in session and the parks are great! Second would be April, third June and lastly the last week of August/1st of Sept. DLR can get crazy crowded in summer. After the fireworks are over you can hardly walk on Main St.

My favorite time is Sept. The crowds are low, the park starts dressing for Halloweentime. The weather is still pretty warm. Warmer even than June (which can be gloomy)

That being said I will be at the parks on June 23 since it's my birthday. Lucky for me it's not a blocked out week with the SoCal AP. :goodvibes

Definitely manageable. We always go around that time frame and we are able to do almost anything and everything. =]
