June 9, 2012 Fantasy

Just booked this cruise last night for myself, DW, DS(18), DD(16), DS(9) and DD(9). We are all so excited (except the twins who will not find out until we arrive at the port - it is a surprise 10th birthday present for them). Spent all day reading this entire thread. Exhausting. Now to tackle reading through all the postings on the FB group.

Glad to see so many teenagers. My son (almost 19) just finished his first year of college at UCF and never has trouble meeting people and making friends, so I am sure he will easily meet people in the 18-20 y.o. college group. My daughter (almost 17), on the other hand, spent our last Disney cruise following DW and I around everywhere we went and trying (somewhat successfully) to make us feel guilty when we tried to go to the adult areas of the ship. At that time, she was just a little to young for the teen group and didn't want to hang out with the "younger" kids in the 11-13 y.o. group. She has promised us that this time she will not follow us around. We shall see...

Welcome to the crew! Its great you could get onboard :thumbsup2
This is such a great group :goodvibes
very very fun!

I am 18 as well, but this is my High School Graduation. Me and my brother(20) will be in the 18-21 club as well. He should definitely come to the first night meeting so we can all meet. Also, if he has a Facebook, he could join us on the main page. Can't wait!

Welcome, welcome...
How exciting to plan a trip so quickly... mine has been years in the making... My DD17 will be on this trip so hopefully she can meet your DD. I know that mine plans on ditching me as much as possible. It's just her and I and we are spending a week at WDW first so I know we both will be looking for spending time with people other than each other.

You're right when you say about planning a trip quickly... it's definitely a rush, but you also miss out on some of the anticipation!

Also, for those who responded to my questions about registering my 11 y.o. DD... suddenly her name wasn't grayed out on the DCL website, so I was able to do it. I'm not sure why it wouldn't let me do it before. :confused3

:welcome: to all of you that just joined this cruise!!! :)

I haven't been on The DIS in a while, so it's great to see so many DISers joining the cruise.

We are going to be spending some time in Orlando before the cruise. Therefore, I am in full packing mode. :woohoo:

I am looking forward to meeting some other DISers on the cruise. :thumbsup2

My daughter (Delaney) will be 11 in 2 weeks and my son (Spencer) is 12 now. My daughter is emailing daily with another girl that will be on the cruise also. If you want my daughter to start emailing your daughter, just send message to steelemdsd and I will have her give her email address.

Thanks.
My dd (Nicole) is currently 11 turning 12 at the end of June. Looking for her meet up with some friends to have a great time. I see that Delaney is 11, Spenser is 12. Please have email us, we would love to have Nicole meet up with the gang.

Hello everyone! We are happily signed up for this cruise! So excited! Husband and I tried so hard to avoid temptation of the DVC awesome discount, but alas......to no avail. The dark side kept calling up over and over again saying....sign up....sign up........and here we are! :cool1: We just were just on the Disney Magic April 20 for a 5-day Bahama cruise.

First of all, my name is Debra:wave2: and my DH is Rick. We are from North Carolina. We have been on 4 Disney cruises (all on the Magic) and love all things that are Disney! We've been on the WBTA (Transatlantic) back in Sept., the Mediterranean back in 2010, and with our boys when they were younger in 1999. Looking forward to being on the Fantasy to see what it's like.

I've requested to be accepted on the FB page, and we would like to sign up for the 5k run on Castaway (if I read right earlier in the threads). We ran it for the first time 2 weeks ago. Husband did fine......I,on the other hand, was plodding along, but I made it without stopping!!! :cool1:

Look forward to chatting with you as time goes on so I'll know some people on the cruise!:boat: We had a huge group of people on the WBTA that we had gotten to know from the disboards. Looking forward to cruising with you!

As I said before ....this is a REALLY fun group! I am in for the run too... We have a logo for it...search the FB page, you will find the message with the link... just made my TShirt today!

Happy Mothers Day!

Wow, Debra, that's a lot of cruises in a short time! I'm so jealous! Welcome to our cruise! I'm looking forward to seeing the Fantasy as well.

And I don't blame you for being unable to resist that DVC discount. It was awesome!

How long does it usually take before you are accepted on FB? Also, just wondering if anyone has gotten any excursions together on any of the islands (that disboard people can sign up for) that are not through Disney? :rolleyes2 I haven't read all the past threads...just the last 5 - 6 pages.

Countdown........25 days! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Thanks and hope everyone has a truly magical pixiedust: day!

I didn't get anything... where was it sent?

We forwarded a message to the email address that you provided us, since we cannot yet respond by PM, can you send another PM with the address again We're in CA, I believe we are 3 hours behind you Nicole has karate tonight, so she might be able to respond after school and prior to her class; otherwise Amy will have message waiting for her tomorrow...thanks

Okay, that's why I didn't know! Amy has her own email. We're in California as well (SF Bay Area). I'll ask after school to see if your message arrived.

Welcome! If DD17 starts follwing you start the "crazy Tourist" Shtick and embarrass the heck out of her. It's the quickest way to get rid of them, lol:rotfl:

Not sure about FB acceptance time (it was pretty quick for me but that was over a year ago, lol). I CAN tell you that we have a group going to sting ray city with Capt Marvin's at Grand Cayman and to Mr Sanchos in Cozumel. Other than that I think everyone is on their own or with DCL excursions

Hi all,

I am trying like crazy to convince my husband that we should book this cruise. It would be myself (49) DH (49) his parents (70+) and DD's (20), (16) and (almost 12). Grandparents have the DVC membership and the great offer on the verhanda, they have taken us to Disney many times and on 3 cruises, now it is time to treat them! I am totally into it and he really wants to, but we really should buy DD (16) a car so she can drive herself to gymnastic practice 5 days a week, it would save me over 2.5 hrs a day of driving!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1: but with one in college and one gymnast and a little budding actress it is a tough financial decision!!! Why does Disney have to be so much fun???
keep your fingers crossed and send some pixie dust my way please!!

PS asked to join the FB group, not sure if that is ok, since we have not actually booked. my name is Diane and I'm from SE PA
