Well I got my GTY assignment. No pixie dust here. Booked 11C and got 2517. Oh, well at least I have a state room assignment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw your post and I immediately checked mine, we got upgraded :cool1:, booked 11C and got 10C #2141, still inside but I'm glad we got split bath and in aft location. Hey, who knows maybe you'll get upgraded at the port! I've read that some people didn't find out til they were at the port.

Just checked mine and also got what I paid for 5013.
I thought the cruise still had loads of room available?
Maybe it'll change?!!!

I'm hoping to get upgraded to a verenadah. LOL We were upgraded for our last cruise and now my Dad expects it!!! I told him not to ... cause that'll just jinx us. LOL

We were booked into 2 11C/GTY rooms and were just assigned connecting 10C rooms. I was hoping for a window, but it was certainly nice of them to keep the family together in connecting rooms.

Good for you! At least someone got pixie dusted :thumbsup2
I don't know why but I was so sure that we would get some sort of upgrade. :lmao:
Really, I've just been spoiled because I've gotten upgrades on 2 of our 3 WDW vacations.
Still SOOOO excited!

You got a sideways room! I heard it's roomier compared to regular inside rooms. That's a good location, very close to kids club.

Us too! We thought we would get at least an OV room (verandah would be looong shot :lmao:). Now, I'm not sure if we will try to pay for an upgrade at the port (since i'm also planning on rebooking onboard), I've read a trip report last year that from inside to an OV is around $400 and verandah is close to 1K.

Really?! That's good to know.

Pleased to be near the kids club, I can drop Georgia off in my pj's and roll back into bed :rotfl:

Was a little worried baout noise from the theatre below.. what time would the last show finish?

Well done on your upgrade :woohoo:

Just checked ours too, we were upgraded from an 11B to 10C. It is a connecting room so I hope we don't get too much noise from next door. At least we get the split bath which is what we really wanted :thumbsup2

Is it sad that I keep checking my ressie hoping DCL changed my state room? :rotfl: Guess that's not likely.

Anyway, Is anyone interested in doing a book swap on board? I'm planning to bring Water for Elephants which I will probably finish a few days into the cruise. If any one is interested we can swap books! Just an idea... I'm trying to limit my luggage and I'll need something for the 2nd half of my trip. My mom may be interested too. She reads like a book a day.

I'm bringing my iPad and was planning on loading a book on it ... very space saving. Although, when I think of it, I'll probably just end up playing Angry Birds instead. LOL

I ♥ Angry Birds!

Totally unrelated question: If we decide to go for an upgrade at the port can I send DH to the port before our check in time to inquire or does the entire travel party need to be present?

Amy, I think upgrades can be done (if available) after checking in then they will direct you to the Supervisor's desk. So yes, everyone in your party has to be there for check-in, at least that's what i've read here at the board.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:I just reinstalled Angry Birds on my I-touch so I could start all over again. I LOVE that game.

I will be bringing books as well and would be happy to switch with someone.

The last show starts around 8:15pm and usually runs about an hour.

Hey Wendy, you're back!!! How was your trip to the French Riviera? Any tips on how to get around Monte Carlo/Monaco? I will send you a PM regarding our private tour.

Can you not use another agent since yours is away?

You're right, I guess we could ask for someone else. But we've been communicating with this one lady since our last cruise in January, so I think it'll be ok. I just had my wisdom teeth taken out last week and have been kind of out of it anyway.

Remember to get Dreams Unlimited to tell DCL that it's your honeymoon, so they will make a fuss of you onboard. DCL love to know if you are celebrating something and your Travel Agent can note this on your reservation.

Also, go to guest services and get the "just married" badges to wear, you have no idea how much fuss everyone will make of your special occasion

You can book all your excursions up to a few days before the cruise, so you still have plenty of time

Oh that's a good idea! I will remind her that it's our honeymoon. :)

As others have mentioned you can book DCL excursions on the website once the cruise is paid for. We are doing a DCL excursion and 2 private tours. We are using DCL for Naples and private tours for Malta & Rome. We like the idea of private tours because they are smaller and more flexible. Here is a good thread for finding tour companies or navigating ports on your own. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2663068&highlight=med+ports

Thanks for the link, I will check it out.

What is a GTY? We just looked at what Dreams Unlimited had on their website and picked a navigator's verandah room so we can get some fresh air and also to get the extra onboard credit, though I don't think it's going to go very far!

with regard to boarding how smooth have they got this now? When we sailed from Dover last year it was spot on, parked at the port (about half hour drive from home lol) wandered in, painless check in next to no queues, short wait in the lounge with character appearances etc. All clean and tidy. When we went from Barcelona before it was chaos. Partly perception I guess as you're hot and sweaty and we had to fly in and have the bus transfer. But the cruise terminal itself was a nightmare. They checked us in and then gave us a boarding time, called us to stand in a queue where a few hours later we were still stood - a nightmare with a 6 month old. The Disney staff were frantically running up and down the queue trying to locate people who should be going on excursions etc. Turned out there was some problem with the boat docking and they had to have another go at it. Why oh why they didn't tell us this I don't know and why call people up to stand in a pointless queue for hours. Anyway .... does anyone have a more recent experience and any pointers on how its likely to go?
Thanks
