June 5,2010 Relocation Cruise

I have been going through the threads, but haven't come across many about the excusions. What are other people doing?

We are doing:
Rock Tour - Gibraltar
Seeing Seville - Cadiz
Arrabida and Sesimbra with Private Castle Tour - Lisbon

Palo Dinner
Well Being Message for Couples (can't wait!)

What is everyone doing in Barcelona (Las Rambles?) and London?

Well, we have booked a tour in Gibraltar on our own. We are doing the Disney Seville on your own tour. Lisbon..well, we are going to figure it out when we get there...us and our Rick Steves guide. In London we are seeing Andrew Lloyd Webber's sequel to Phantom, "Love Never Dies" and flying home the next day. I am going to try to see a matinee of something (hopefully Sister Act) in London as well.

Gibraltar, U.K. - Dolphin World
Cadiz, Spain - Beekeeper for a Day (we may or may not do this one)
Lisbon, Portugal - Jeep Expedition

We are going to do the Hop on Hop off Bus tours in Barcelona as we are flying in on Thursday afternoon. http://www.barcelona-tourist-guide.com/en/tour/barcelona-bus-tour.html

We are flying home the day we arrive in London. We are stationed in Germany about 1.5hr plane ride home.

Hi Guys

Welcome Disney Anna.

Yes I am on facebook, don't post much, but like knowing what everyone else is doing. I haven't a clue how to do a link, so if you have put your link up, I will do a friend thingy!!!

Got a few things laid out on the bed for dd, but nothing for us yet. Did go and buy a T shirt today!:lmao: but like the idea of tax free Gib. and going a bit mad with no baggage allowance on the way back. FE gifts, almost done. Childrens things are, just need to do the bags for the grown ups, but I am afraid they will be very limited due to space and weight!

Looking forward to the Novotel too, in the bar Friday night - wear a red carnation and carry a newspaper!!!

Not sure what 'rev' is for flights, presuming some sort of standby? Hope you make the one you want - there will always be another one along later if you don't!

Is anyone going to do a blog? I am taking my iphone, but not sure about roaming charges and stuff, so can't be sure I will post. I did think about starting a general thread on the Trip Report Board, which could get posted and others may find interesting on our adventures.

As for trips, we haven't booked anything, except Dolphin World on our own, which was half the price of DCL excusrsion.

We have done Cadiz before, so may get a cab somewhere different, although I love the town. The beach is pretty good too. We also enjoy pottering around Lisbon. The Oceanarium is fantastic and a short cab away from the ship, so not sure if will do that, or again, look further afiield. I suppose it is different for us, as we can hop over to Europe anytime, so not the need to cram everything in. We actually are going more for the ship than the stops!!

Not long to go now, I have so much to do at home, as we have house sitters in, I want to clean the place top to bottom, I also need to do loads of ironing:sad1: Ths weekend we have visitors coming, which doesn't help, so beds need changing!!!:headache:

Take care everyone and see you next week!!!

Am I panicking unnecessarily??
Virgin cruises have not yet sent my tickets or labels...
Has anyone who booked via virgin had theirs?
Thanks:sad2:

Hi

I've booked with Virgin Cruise Holidays and have had nowt from them. I called them about 2 weeks ago and they said it was normal for documents to be sent 1-2 weeks before the date of travel. :confused3
So I'm waiting until the end of this week to see if the docs arrive.

:confused3 Since this is the one and only reposition cruise, I was just wondering if anyone knew what kind of schedule it would be.....formal night? Do they do pirate night? What kind of entertainment? Didn't know if anyone looked into it further and knew. Thanks!

Yes there is a pirate night.

Entertainment - Villains tonight
Twice Charmed and Disney Dreams

There is a formal night and a semi formal night.

Yensid1222 has all the info

Non-Rev is short for Non-Revenue travel. It is what airline employees do when flying on their benefits. It is stand-by space available travel. We really want to fly direct from Dallas to Paris, and American Airlines has exactly ONE flight a day that does that...so if it fills up I have to get creative on ways to get to Europe. So, basically I am coming up with back up after back up to get across the pond.

Hello everyone! We are new to the board - it will be be my DH and I as we are celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and the kids will be at home. We are from outside of Charlotte, NC. We got engaged at the Castle in WDW. :) We are looking forward to this cruise so much. I think this is our 5th Disney Cruise - our second this year. We are definately looking for a fun group to hang out - so look for the two of us wandering around and we will be ready to cut loose and party (along with some exploring and relaxation time)!

David and Anna

Welcome Anna! We live in Edenton, about an hour from the Outer Banks. DH was just in Charlotte last weekend for the NRA convention. He was in awe of the light rail. It wasn't in the last time we were there.

Just rang them today... they say Disney have not yet sent them the tickets etc!!
Starting to get a bit worried now, will easyjet allow boarding without hardcopy tickets?
I must say Virgin have been completely useless whenever I've rung them up with queries (still waiting for the DVD!!)
Fingers crossed we should get something this week:sad1:

Hi

Whenever I have flown Easyjet, I have never had hard copy tickets, I don't think they exist! It has always been done by ETickets, printed off when you book. Did you book your own flights? If so, you should be able to log into the Easyjet site and get copies of of your booking, or ring them up and ask, but you need your booking number, if somehow Virign have done them for you, get the number, or get them to email you the details from Easyjet and print them off to take with you.

Personally, I think Virign have got a little bit big and a little blase about Disney now. Iglu still seem keen to impress Disney and take a little bit more care, they also matched everything I put to them from Virgin, when checking prices for another cruise.

If you have your Reservation number from DCL, you can print off everything you need on line and then get lables at the Port when you arrive. Just put some of your own lables on for the flight.

Best of luck.

Kate

welcome to david and anna!

we've not got any excursions planned this time, this was a really last minute trip for us and the budget needs to be kept to a minimum!
we're flying into barcelona on the 4th, staying at the party hotel ;) (i mean the novotel - there's 5 families from here staying there).
gibraltar - we'll probably get the cable car to the top of the rock, and have a walk round town.
lisbon and cadiz - havent got a clue what to do here, just plan on walking round the town.
dover - we live about 2 hours drive from the port and will have left the car down there before we cruise so just planning on driving home via the kennels to pick up our dog

i booked my wedding and honeymoon with virgin and never again. have never booked a package holiday since.
disney dont really send out a lot of stuff anymore. if you've got a DCL reference number you fill in all the paperwork online, so the only thing they really send out is a bit of info (nothing you cant find online) and luggage labels, which you dont need anyway. if you get to the port and still dont have labels, the porters will have labels to put on your luggage with your room number that they have on the passenger manifest anyway.
thats one of the main reasons i wont book package deals anymore, i like having control of my bookings and knowing exactly what i've got and what i dont. i hate having to wait for someone else to "get round" to posting/sending stuff to me.

Kate, Do you recall where or how you went to the beach in Cadiz? I thought we might find a beach after the aquarium in Portugal, but any other recommendations would be great. The Disney pool just doesn't match up to the sand.

Documents: We received our documents about a week later than others on the board. D also sent them regular mail, in the past it was always FedEx.

Good Morning All :goodvibes

Just trying to organise my FE gifts and the last list I have found is on page 24, but there are only 18 cabins on there. I thought we had 19 cabins? Could somebody point me in the direction of a newer list or let me know who the extra cabin is?

Thank you :)

I'm also very interested in beaches, is the beach walking distance in Cadiz? And in Lisbon?
