June 4, 2012--North to Alaska.

Hi! Have we decided how we are doing the gifts? We have way more adults then kids this cruise. In the past we have had way more kids then adults. Are we doing one gift per cabin? per person? per couple/kid? In the past we have had cruises where we have done a cabin adult gift and a cabin kid gift or just kids and just adults. Thanks!

I'm just planning to do one gift / cabin.

Can't believe we are leaving in 69 days!! So very excited!
Our cabin # is 8530
Here's the excursions we signed up for:
Day 2: Brunch @ Palo 11:00
Skagway: Grizzly Falls Ziplining Expedition (9:45am)
Juneau: Glacier Dog Musher for a day (Disney Exclusive)
Ketchinkan: The Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show DM & DS (10:30am)
Misty Fjords & Wilderness Explorer DD & DS
Victoria: Craigdarroch Castle & City Highlights

FE: I have several little things, not sure if we will combine them and do it one day; or a couple of days. Actually have more for the kids than adults at this point :>) Need to work on that!

My "soon to be" 17 yr old DD (in 9 days) is a little disappointed that she is the only "teenage" of the group so far. Praying for more people to sign up with TEEN's.

DH and I plan to do the Rainforest Spa room! Sounds wonderful!

Looks like we have the Misty Fjord excursion and the Castle excursion with you :goodvibes

We signed up for our excursions over the week-end. We have booked:

Skagway: Skagway Triple Adventure - Bike, Hike, Float & Sunset Horseback
Juneau: Glacier by Helicopter
Ketchikan: Tatoosh Island Kayak
Victoria: Walking Tour

We'll also sign up for the Rainforest Room. My DH is especially looking forward to that.

We are celebrating our 30th anniversary on 6/5.

We aren't going to make Palo reservations. This is our first cruise so we want to try the regular places. We may sign up if there are seats available while we are on the cruise.

We are flying into Seattle on Friday so that we can spend a couple of days exploring and we will stay until Tuesday when we get back. I was in Seattle 29 years ago and loved it. I've always wanted to get back out there to show my DH.

For the FE, we'll be making one delivery. We'll have something for the cabin. Depending on how much time I have, I will probably have something for each of the kids as well.

Hi all,
I am new to this site and new to Disney Cruises as well....or any cruise for that matter. I was excited to find this site and see so many others taking the cruise with me.

I will be travelling with my husband and 12 year old son. We were lucky to get room 7630 for this cruise. 61 days left and we're all very excited. We're coming from New Jersey and I am hoping that we do not have a layover flight anywhere because that will stress me out that we will miss the cruise.

I have booked some excursions already and was lucky enough to find one Palo brunch reservation on the 10th at 1130am which I snatched up.

Any insights or help that anyone can share would be great. If anyone wants to meet up aboard the ship, that would be great as well.

Geri Katz
Excited 1st timer! :dance3:

Welcome Batgirlnj & Family! We are new to Disney Cruises as well. I have a son that is also 12; we will have to meet up and let the boys get to know each other. Will your son be going to the "club" area? Have you been told about the Fish Extenders (FE)? There is a fish next to your cabin door, people make their own wall hanging (with pockets) to receive gifts from other passengers while we cruise. Not ALL passengers participate, I think we have something like 22 people participating as of righ now. You can make or buy cute things to give as gifts. Some do gifts one time, others will do it more often. There really isn't a set rule. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone! Feel free to post any questions you have, I'm sure "someone" will have an answer!

My son said he's going to be at the Club all day, every day. LOL. I was reading earlier on the FE's and it seems like a fun idea. We'd love to partake in that but might need a little assistance. I also joined Facebook group as well so I'm there too.

I'm sure my son would love to meet and hang out with your son. He's not really excited yet, other than the fact that he'll be missing 8 days of school.

Geri

This will be our 6th cruise with Disney, and the 1st doing the Fish Extenders.

I will try to help with any questions.

Yeah, it's still too far away for the kids to get too excited. You can tell your son, that we homeschool, so anytime he wants to do some schooling, he can come to our cabin. JK (just joking)! As far as the FE's; The key is to remember that it's for fun; don't stress out over it!

we are under 60 days folks... are we getting super excited???? I am so ready for a little relaxation and sight seeing in the Beauty that is Alaska!

Hi! Just booked my cruise only 1 wk ago and discovered this amazing site just yesterday! It's my first time cruising ever so all the information is overwhelming..but in a gd way

This FE idea sounds like such fun, can I partake too? But what exactly is one supposed to do? I just know there is gift giving and that's always a gd thing!

I'll be cruising with my husband and 2 boys (9 & 6) and I think the boys will be thrilled with this FE idea. I've just discovered door decorating too! yikes, A lot of work, not much time left! :rotfl:

Appreciate any info from my fellow shipmates, can't wait!!!

we have a facebook group too... if interested.

This will be our 6th Disney cruise, but 1st doing fish extenders (FE). 1st get your information to Debc1212, needs room number, names, ages etc.

then make or buy your FE. then decide how you want to gift the others doing FE. 1 gift per cabin... one per person... what ever is ok!

I am doing 1 gift for the family, 1 for the kids, and 1 for adults in cabin. will deliver on different days

Thanks Kim! As it's our first cruise, have decided to leave FE for future sailings... Gonna take it easy first :) You all have a great time with your FE !

Welcome! :welcome:

Even though you won't be doing the FE, you can still come on here and chat with us all. Also, we are planning to meet up once on the ship, so please join us for that too.

Wld love to, thanks Debbie! keep me in the loop on the meetup. I don't really use FB ( stone ages I know :rotfl2:)

Just a question for those who have been or have booked the misty fjord flight tour in Ketchikan, is it better to book through Disney or is it ok to book direct with the operators? Some of the price differentials can be great! Thks in advance.

the benefit of booking through Disney is safety in knowing you will be back in time... if you book excursions outside of Disney - and they get you back to port too late... you may be responsible for getting a way back to the ship... and that can be expensive.

Hi everyone! We r at Disney Hilton head resort for the first time right now, beautiful!
Everything is falling into place for the cruise. Finished fe's this week :)
getting excited! Do we have time/ date/ place for our onboard meet and greet yet?

Oh, Hilton Head! We've never been, but are thinking about booking that in 2014 (Hawaii is next year :)). I'll have to get the scoop from you!

Kim created an event over on Facebook for 12:30 (pacific time) in the mid-ship lounge on deck 3, but I was just thinking about it - that's probably going to be too early for some folks. I think last time we did like 3pm, about an hour before the lifeboat drill and that seemed to work ok. Would that work for everyone?
