June 3rd 07 Anyone going???

Count us in as well :thumbsup2

This will be our 2nd DCL cruise - first one was last May for a 7-day Western on the Magic. Best vacation ever! This time we're spending a few days in WDW prior to the cruise.

What's everyone doing for Day 1 (Nassau)?. I've read so many different things that I think my head is going to explode! Some say "stay on the ship" while others say "go to a beach". We made reservations at the Comfort Inn so we could see Atlantis & their beach, but we have until May 30th to change our minds.

Only 133 days left :dance3:

:welcome:We haven't decided about the Nassau day either. We don't have a reservation anywhere, and like you have read alot on conflicting reports. 133 days :banana::banana: WOW! We are doing our WDW days after the cruise.

Okay K&C, you inspired me to get going on my reservation for the Comfort Suites. I got it for $236 including taxes - did you do better than that?

We're now booked for June 3rd!!!:cool1:
It's our first Disney Cruise and we're way beyond excited.

I'm glad to see some of you have sons around 10. My son is 10, he loves all sports (especially soccer) and video games and all the regular stuff. Since he's an "only" I'm hoping he can hang around with some other boys his age.

We really want to do Atlantis and the pool and slides. I'm a little confused about the best way to do that. What's the deal with the Comfort Inn? Do you get access to all the Atlantis stuff?

Also, when can you start making reservations for shore excursions?
I'm going to go buy the Passporter 2007 book when it comes out next week. Hopefully that will keep me from asking too many questions. :)

Welcome aboard!

If you book a room at the Comfort Inn in Nassau, you have access to the beach, pools, slides, aquarium, etc at Atlantis. We booked a room using smartertravel.com and got a decent deal.

Okay, I've jumped on the bandwagon and booked a room for the Comfort Inn.
Price with taxes etc. is $235.
It seems like alot! But better than paying $120 per person for the three of us if we did the shore excursion.
Thanks for the tip.
Now I have to figure out what to do at Castaway Cay. Any suggestions?

:welcome:Mickey Mania! We still haven't decided what to do at either spot! We have a DS 12 almost 13 and DS 16. We have been to Castaway Cay before and just spent the day on the beach swimming and hanging out on the beach. We were planning to snorkel, but the weather didn't cooperate, so that was scratched. So...our plans are still up in the air. Glad to have you:boat:.

Hi MickeyMania,
My DS and your DS sound like they should have quite a bit in common. The only thing you didn't mention was legos. Jacob's goal in life is to become the guy who creates all of the lego sculptures at Legoland. He's still refusing to e-mail a stranger, but I think we have plenty to work with here. I'm sure that we can think of some appropriate activity to introduce our little guys and hopefully get them started on hanging out together on the ship. I don't mind doing things as a family, but I really want him to take advantage of what DCL has to offer him.

Thanks for the tip about the "significant organizational discount" vs the AAA rate at the Comfort Suites. I've lost my Amex card, but I'm going to go back and book that one.

I don't recall the snorkeling being very good at Castaway Cay as it always seems to be quite sandy. However, I'm hoping that the Black Pearl really will be at Castaway Cay when we arrive. I would have to go out to have my picture taken with the Dutchman and the Pearl! Other than that I recall laughing at the hula hoop contest, eating, trying to track down missing kids, and sitting on the beach. Maybe I'll convince someone to take the bike tour around the island.

It's great that we're getting a little group going here! :grouphug:
Donna

I'm getting so excited.

Two quick questions:
When can you make shore excursion reservations?
When can you make PALO reservations?
And don't worry, for future mundane questions I'm going to buy the 2007 Disney Cruise Passporter the day it comes out. (Jan. 28)

Like ya'll I can't wait to see the Flying Dutchman. What a photo op. I read somewhere you can't take one of the rental boats out to it. Is that right? I'd love to get up close and personal. pirate:

I really wanted to do the Stingray shore excursion at CC, but my DS says he won't go near them after Steve Irwin died. Has anyone done this? Are they little stingrays?
If we don't do that we may just float, snorkle and bike around. Also gotta get the charachter photos!

DonnaDavid, My DS likes LEGOS (he LOVED Legoland a few years back) but isn't probably quite the fan yours is. But he is totally into Star Wars. In fact we're going to do Star Wars Weekend at MGM before we get onboard. I think they'll have plenty in common. Tanner is pretty easy-going.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Mickey Mania- please don't quit asking questions! We all learn from the answers you get! And if you do get the passporter, share the knowledge
with us:rotfl:
I believe that you can book your excursions at the 60 day mark.
Not sure about Palo. May be the same. Good question for the boards, or a repeat cruiser may know.
What about one of those disposable waterproof cameras so that you can go out as close as possible to the Flying Dutchman and snap you photo without worrying about your camera getting wet. Unless you have a really long zoom on your digi.

OK Mickey Mania, you've had time to study the passporter is there anything that you've discovered that we need to know? :coffee:

Yes, we a patiently waiting :lmao:
Have you guys been on the Disney site to register?

I got my cruise packet in the mail today! So cute. It's getting me excited all over again.

We also got our postcard from Mickey yesterday!!! My son loved it. If any of ya'll have children you should definetly consider doing this. I posted the link below. You just ask a recent cruiser to send your kids a Disney Cruise postcard from the charachter of their choice. Ours was even postmarked from Orlando. This board is so great.

I have not registered yet. I need to do that. I booked through Sam's Club so will that make a difference? I guess I just use the reservation number Sam's gave me.

Ya'll are waiting much more patiently for the Cruise Passporter than I am. It was supposed to come out on the 28th, but it's running late.
It's expected to be in stores later this week. I'll pass along any good tips as soon as I read them.

Great news! The 3rd Pirates of the C. movie is releasing the week before we all cruise. I can't wait to see it.
The dilema--- see it when it comes our in very late May and then see it again on the ship. Or wait and see it for the first time on the Wonder.
Any thoughts???pirate:

Well, my solution of course is to see the movie here when it comes out, AND on the boat! That's what we ended up doing on with POC 1 on the Eastern several years ago. It was fun, everyone was cheering for Captain Jack and Will Turner.pirate:

I don't believe that I'll be parasailing, but I'll definitely join you all to see POTC. :wave2:

Aww, come on, it can't be all that bad :crazy2:. The things we do for our kids.:rotfl:I do want to make it to the end of the cruise in one piece though so I can
enjoy our time afterwards in WDW.
