June 29, 2008 - Magic - West Coast!!!!

Wow.... you guys getting those cabins ... awesome! I am so excited, but I am TRYING.. and I mean TRYING to concentrate on our upcoming Freedom cruies, in 2 months. I'm shopping excursions now. Trying to decide, but then I get SOOO excited for this cruise. Probably because we are sailing with close friends.

Let's keep this thread going.... :wizard:

Hey all!!! Just checking in! I have so much to plan right now (i.e. a wedding!!!) but I am so stuck on planning for this cruise! I didn't even realize that it was the July 4th sailing until after we booked so thats just an added bonus! But I am so excited for it! I am in room 6108 (which is actually the date of my wedding - June 1st 2008). Congrats to all of you who got the SPH rooms - thats awesome for you! I do hope to meet you all! Its ONLY 16+ months away - we'll just have to help eachother through until then!

hi all,

just came off the 10 day christmas cruise..that was great..
met a great bunch of people on a thread for that cruise..we ordered shirts to match for the first day so we would all know each othr when we got on the ship..and darling robin organized a christmas ball exchange with a ball that would be related to the area you are from..it was alot of fun..also darling kat made christmas stockings for all disboard people that wanted thm..and everyday we would come back to our stateroom and find gifts form someone..it made the cruise soo much more fun...
i am all for getting together to meet everyone on this cruise..
lets nominate tom to organize it...!!! what-a-ya say tom :yay:

Hi All! My family and I will be on this cruise too (Me, DH, DS 12, DD11, DS6...ages at time of the cruise). We're all self proclaimed 'disney freaks' (AP holders), but have never been on this cruise. I'm so glad I don't have to go through all of this waiting alone!! Will all this rain we've had this last week (North. Ca.) I'm ready for the Mexican Riviera now!:cool2:

welcome M-I-C-K-E-Y!

Looks like we will have some similar age Disney kids on board. I will post some pictures of my family so maybe we can recognize each other!

Tom

That sounds great Tom! I'm still trying to learn some of the finer details of how to post messages, etc (a little Disney magic might help me:wizard: I haven't done it for very long), but when I do, I'll be posting pictures as well. Just curious, from one AP holder to another, will you be attending the 'Pirates Premier' at DLand?

Ya know, as a local i run AWAY from the parks for special events and holidays! :)

That's why I am kinda bummed we will be at WDW for the Spring Break. It's the busiest time of the year, but gotta head out when the kids are on break for that kind of trip. I voted for April Rather than July or August to avoid the heat and humidity in Florida.

My DW and DS hit Disneyland much more than I get to. DS gets to go with other friends who have AP's as well.

He and I also have AP for Knotts and Six Flags Magic Mountain, so we mix it up a lot.

Cheers

:cool1:

I am just so sad today. I had to put down my dog that was 17 years old, he had been fighting cancer and I didn't want to see him in pain. Our vet said we did the best thing for him so he wouldn't suffer anymore. I will miss him and just wanted to write it down this way to make it more real for me.
I told me to young boys that we were taking him to the doctor today and that we hoped he could get better but may not and may go to doggie heaven. My DH Birthday is tomorrow ( yep Feb 14th baby). Do you think I should just tell the kids today and tomorrow that he is at the doggy hospital so they won't be so sad about what has happened which could effect their Valentine Parties and their dads Birthday? And then tell them by this weekend that he just couldn't get better and went to doggy heaven? Please tell me what you think?

I'm so very sorry for your loss...it's never easy to lose an animal that was a member of the family. Being a mom myself, I've always found it easier to be open and honest with my kids about such things. They always seem to surprise me with how resilient they are. Good luck to you, and hope everything works out.

Fans,
So sorry to hear about your dog. I have three of my own and I am in tears just thinking about when the time comes for them. They are just so special in our lifes. As for your children - they are often more astute then we think (I teach Kinder). They just know something is not right some times. I would be honest with them. Hug them and be as positive as you can. The sooner you tell them, the sooner you can get it off your mind.

:grouphug: Hugs to you!

sooo sorry about you dog..
when i was going on my first disney trip wth my dd..the nite before my dog passed away..we didnt tell her untill on the airplane..by the time we got to disney sh had acepted it was her time to die and nothing we could do abt it..sh was on all our minds thrgh the week but disney kept us quite bz..someone gv me a great poem abt dogs..i will find it and email it to you..:sad1:

Thank you all!!!!!!! I means a lot to me!!! I am trying so hard to get up the nerve to tell them. My 4 year old, I think doesn't really understand what is going on. My just turned 7 year old has asked where he is and my DH just couldn't do it right now so he told him that he was at the doggy hospital. His name was Christopher Columbus. ( I named him that because when we went to the dog pound, I felt like instead of me finding him, he was meant to find us!)
I will try and tell the kids, maybe later tonight. It is just so Hard:sad1:

Bummer about the loss!

My DW and I lost our "first born" a few months ago. He was a great Golden Retreiver who was 12.

Our DD3 didn't really catch on much, but our DS10 was bummer for a week or 2. We had the dog cremated and he now sits in a fancy can that my DS likes to keep in his room.

Keep thinking Disney thoughts!!

PS Renewed our Disneyland AP over the weekend and our DD3 is now 41 inches so we took her on Thunder Mountain Railroad! Boy was that more lively for her than the Teapots or Mr. Toad! ;)

I found a fun thread on here that had cool photos of the port of LA area.

I wanted to show everyone how close my office is to the dock. I can see the Cruise ships sailing by when they head out of the harbor most evenings before I go home.

I am so lucky I will get the OTHER view next year!

Wow... I have a big lump in my throat! I am so sorry Disney! :sad1:

I have a 2 yr old yellow lab that is my DD7's best friend. I am so sorry, I can't imagine that someday her "body guard" won't be around her.

I know what it is like to lose a pet. When I was younger, my parents told me that our family Sheltie, was 13 years old, so old, so sad. I was 14 and they said that "he just wandered off last night, probably went away to die so we didn't have to see him suffer and die." Hey, I still believe it :confused3 ! To you!

Tom: The last time the Magic came out here, I was so excited I dragged our family down to hang out at the restuarant at the Port. We watched the Magic sail out while dining. It was great! Then when we sailed out, my family went to that "fish place" and watched us depart.

We will do that again before we sail! :cloud9:

Hi Guys! Since this is the first DC my family and I have ever been on, let alone during the 4th of July holiday...do they do anything special for this day? Disneyland usually celebrates it in grand 'Disney style', so I'm assuming the ship would be no different. Anyone know?

Hey,

I started a thread asking that question. I think some people said that they do a little something, but I don't think it will be like a big ---as lets say Christmas time. But I hope they are able to plan the fireworks on July 4th!!! pixiedust:

I posted this question about the 4th on the big board and people said that in the past they have had a souvenier champagne glass on the 4th. No extra fire works I don't think. Mickey and Minnie in patriotic garb. Thats all I got but I love the idea of the glasses!!! I am big on things I can take home with me.
