When do you think DCL will have the excursions listed?
for this cruise next year? WoW
Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, March, April, May then JUNE, I know the cruise is at the end of June but if feels closer saying it that way.LOL
Anybody around reading these? LOL
Hi Fans! I just so happened to ask my TA at AAA about this last week. I wanted to know first when we'd find out our OBC (I need to know how much I can spend), but she said AAA should finalize that part by October. Now as far as the excursions, she didn't have an exact date, but said it should be soon thereafter. Hmm...I'm not sure that was a real answer, but I'll take it for now.
I'm using the old nav's I saw online to go by until they know for sure. This planning sure is fun though!!

I am! I'll get more into it after all this summer fun and vacations. Going to Vegas this Thursday - Sunday for my birthday. As soon as school starts, I'll be obsessed with planning yet another cruise!![]()

Boy....I miss summer vacations. We have year round school here so the last day of school was June 27th, and the next school year started a week and a half laterThat's why we had to book this cruise....it was during the week they have off from school for 'summer vacation'. But hopefully you come back a big winner from Vegas!! Good luck to you!

I have heard of some schools who go year round but you still have off some weeks to make it all still equal amount of time right?
When is your weeks of time off? Because in other ways that could be good. Because if you are off on weeks that aren't the norm then maybe you can sometimes get better deals without missing school?![]()
You are absolutely right. There are 4 different "tracks"...orange, yellow, blue and green. And each track has 3 different months off during the school year to accomodate the parents' work schedules or day care or whatever. When my oldest started, we chose the track with the months off that we enjoy going to Disneyland in (that may seem weird, but we consider D-land our 'hobby'). Unfortunately, I have 3 kids and they are all on different tracks...they don't have to guarantee you that they'll all be on the same schedule. So I typically have to pull 2 out of their classes whenever we go on vacation. But all in all, it's fine...I'm a stay at home mom so it's cool
That's why I was very excited with these cruise dates...they're all off!!

Wow!!!So your kids are on 3 differnt ones! Yucks that is hard to work around!!!
We are thinking of doing Disneyland after the cruise.
Last year we did it after the Double Dip Costa Disney Cruise. So I think we will do that again, the reason why we do it after is because for us, it makes the last day on the ship not so sad because we are still looking foward to then going to Disney again.LOL
I don't know why but for us it is harder to leave the DCL then to leave WDW or DL? crazy us I guess![]()
I so totally relate to what you're saying!! Actually, we're doing DL after the cruise too, simply for the reasons you just said. We live in the Bay area, so we'll drive down being excited for the cruise, and then having to leave to go home afterwards just won't do!So we'll spend a few days in DL just to 'transition' ourselves from the cruise to 'reality'. And I know these boards are great for answering about any question possible, but if you have one about DL or hotels or whatever, don't hesitate to ask (or anyone on this thread for that matter
), and I'll do my best to answer!
I was wondering why DCL isn't offering a pre/post stay at Disneyland as part of the cruise. I figure everyone would want to do that. I'm now considering it, but I know June/July are quite expensive at the three DL Hotels. i'm hoping there's an incetive going through disney.

Where do like to stay when visiting DL?
Of which of the 3 disney hotels do you think is best?
or because so many hotels are so close (not like a WDW)LOL![]()
I have heard that a hotel called Candy Cane Inn is good and I think there are a couple of others but don't recall there names, just the CCI one because it is so different.![]()
What do you think?
If you're wanting to stay at one of the resort hotels, my favorite truly is Paradise Pier. I've stayed at all three, and they all have their benefits (and Disney magic), but PP is just totally laid back. They have a beach theme throughout so it's very casual. But you have a longer walk to DL than either of the other two resort hotels. We just stayed at Grand Ca this past May, and they actually gave us a credit for our stay because we had absolutely horrible service. But when we stayed there before, it was fine. So it's hit and miss I guess. Now you mentioned Candy Cane....that's the only hotel we stay at when we're on the 'strip'. We've stayed at pretty much all of those hotels at one time or another, and we absolutely love the CCI. They have their own shuttle that leaves every 1/2 hour, plus it's close enough to walk if you don't want to wait. I've read many people who stay at the hotels further away, but I just like the convenience of being able to just walk back when we need to. They have a really nice buffet in the morning too (muffins, bagels, cereal, etc), and the rooms are very clean. I have a friend who loves the Fairfield Inn, but she did mention that some of their rooms smell a little 'musty'.
I thought they were offerning an add on per or post cruise for DL, but I don't know if it saves any money?
Hey did you know you got a Topper!!
That is suppose to be Good Luck if you get one on the DIS boards!!!![]()
What's a topper? Where is it?
Thanks. Sorry for being clueless.

Thanks for letting me know!![]()
So PP, - as for walking? how much of a differnce is it then? from DL?
Since GC is so close to the one park.
And also is it true that the service that takes people from DL hotel has been changed and you can't really go to the stop neat DL hotel but to only really DTD?
GC- I always wondered since it is so close, about the noise at night from the rides and just people talking extra near the park, etc?
Thanks again for your help!!![]()
Ok, I'll try to answer as best as I can. To get to DL from PP, you have to cross Disneyland Dr. and go through GC, walk through DTD, and enter that way. How far is it? I'm really not sure (I'm not good with distance
). But there is no shuttle or monorail that meets you at PP to take you to DL. There should be but that's another thread
. Now with Disneyland Hotel, you walk just a short distance to the monorail station in DTD, and it takes you to the monorail station in Tomorrowland (right over Finding Nemo subs). That's definitely a plus in my book for Dland Hotel. But the monorail does have it's share of problems, and will shut down without notice sometimes. But I've noticed Disney does their best to keep it running during peak times of the year, like summer. Now GC, you can enter directly into CaAdventure. If you choose GC, the most noise you hear from the park is typically people screaming on the rides. You really don't hear much else, or maybe I just didn't notice it. It's really not bad. I hope that helps a little, and I didn't confuse you too much.
