June 28th-Where are you???

We have early seating as they said it would be better with a child 4 years old. I would rather have late I think, but with the later time (eastern), it will already be like she's eating at 7:00 at home. If we have late, she'll probably be asleep before dinner is over. I haven't requested any particular rotation, I don't think it would do any good anyway. Do you have your room number yet? We'll be in 6608.

I liked the early seating on the 4 day last year. We requested Animators Palate first last year(APL) and it was perfect with the show for the first night. I highly recommend it. your kids will be in awe. It just looked so magical when the pictures came alive with color. I remember we're on deck 8, but haven't gotten my room number from my travel agent yet. I'm SSSOO organized! Who cares I'd sleep in the hall! :p

tdm - can I call you that? :p Anyway, did you do any of the spa treatments on your cruise? Did your DS play any basketball? Strange question I know, but my DS is really into basketball, and I'm hoping its not just a bunch of dads playing real hard with no room for the kid.

My daughter and I did the facial, manicure, pedicure. It was nice. I don't do that sort of thing at home. The view was the best part. My son doesn't really do sports much (leg/foot problem since birth) .I seem to remember they had different "shot" contests for all ages if I remember correctly. Also, in the club they made flubber, had a wall size Playstation 2, all kinds of hunts etc. I think he'll love it. Will your daughter go in the other club alone? I think they are in two different places. Oceaner's Lab /Oceaner's Club . Your room looks like a nice area on the ship! We're going to have a fun week. TTYL

This is definitely getting fun! I told my daughter last night about finding someone for her and her friend to share wandering around the ship with and her only reply was "interesting". We have early seating and hope to be able to have the entire family at one table. Each family has their own cabin and we are all located on decks 7 and 8. My husband and I are in a category 3 (pure splurge) in part so we can celebrate our 25th anniversary. My goals for the cruise are to watch the water; move to another place and watch the water; move to another place and watch the people watching the water and for real excitement - take a nap. Work is always very intense and this is my break deliberately designed so that staying in touch with work is close to impossible.

My daughter and friend have long lists of spa treatments planned, late club evenings because it is impossible for them to get out of bed early and some island wanderings. My husband is going on the Atlantis submarine as a planned excursion. He is helping to restore a WWII submarine (the Cavalla in Galveston) and all things submarine are fascinating to him. Otherwise he plans on getting off on the islands and just wandering around. That is his typical "cruise thing".

Yes, this is fun. My son said "HMMM" when I mentioned the girls (WITH A SMILE) . Your goals for the cruise sound wonderful! We also have a Cat 3., but I forgot to find out the room number. The travel agent has my confirmation papers. My husband and son would find your husband's work extremely interesting. What is your girls' major? My son is a comp sci major. Too bad there isn't anyone yet for my daughter to hang out with in the teen club. My son went out on the ship each night but we did all the family stuff everyday. We loved all the trivia contests etc. This time we want to do the ship tours, entertainment, and navigator series as well. We didn't do much relaxing , but now we have sea days. We'll probably run around for 7 days instead of 4!! :p

I hope one of your will let me peek at your Cat. 3, I'll be "slumming" in a cat 6!!! :p I have never yet had a relaxing vacation. There's too much to do to spend it relaxing. I'll do that at home! We'll be staying at AKL after the cruise. Are you guys just cruising or do you have WDW planned also?

Oh my dear you are never slumming with Disney! Seriously though we saw the Cat 6 rooms last year and they are beautiful. We are only cruising this year so thats why the Cat 3. We are giving the parks a break. We've done them about 10 years in a row. My husband wants to "Bake and Eat" and I don't mean Cakes! :D

We're in 8534. From what I've read on the boards and the pictures I've seen, it sounds like all the categories are great. Just a matter of where you want to spend your money. I'm not the most mobile of people so we also wanted more room since we do plan on being in the cabin quite a bit.

My daugher has a double major in history and RTF (Radio, Television and Film). Her friend is getting her nursing degree. Last year my daughter spent a month in New York City (by herself) at a Film school and I learned how to survive with no sleep at all. For some reason it seemed that if I stayed awake, then I knew she was OK. You would think that I could deal with her being on the cruise more easily. Hah! I got them a cabin on deck 7 because that was about as far away from us as I thought was acceptable. I think the phrase overprotective starts to apply here.

Too bad I didn't chat with you last year. I'm only 15 minutes from NYC and I could have made sure she was ok! I'm also overprotective . My son "blessed " me with the news that he wants to study abroad next year! Want to stay awake and chat for 6 months??? :( His minor is going to be history taken there.

I think is wonderful when one is young and believes nothing bad will ever happen (at least not to you). This is our first Disney cruise. We've cruised on Carnival before and enjoyed that so we have high hopes for this cruise.

I know I'm easy to please , but I can't begin to tell you what a great time we had on the 4 day last year. There is so much more listed on the 7 day that I know everyone is going to have the best time. What do you think of possibly meeting on deck 10 when the ship is starting to sail on port side overlooking the Goofy pool? They mentioned this on another site, and it sounded like a good place to meet before everyone starts going their own way. We'll bring the bubbles!

Samsma- How about you also?

Sounds good to me, if I don't get lost! Port side overlooking Goofy Pool, deck 10. I can surely find that if it's not too crowded. OT, but have either of you stayed at AKL or Dolphin? Still trying to decide. Dolphin is MUCH cheaper $142 compared to 306 for AKL Savannah. Location of Dolphin is better, but AKL supposed to be awesome. What do you ladies think?

Sorry I can't help there. We've only stayed at the POlynesian and the All Satar Resorts. See what parks you will visit the most, find out if theres a direct bus, or if you have to go to the TTC and switch. That may make your decision easier. Also, look for food courts and restaurants for younger children. Its the only things I can think of. See you on deck 10!

When we go to WDW, we like to stay at the Beach Club. We like the quick walk to Epcot and just the way the place feels to us. A meeting on deck 10 would be great.

Sounds great! See everyone on Deck 10 portside. Wear a lime ribbon or something so we'll recognize each other. My family will have Disney t-shirts on. I AM SO EXCITED I CAN"T WAIT!!!

There is only one thing I'm worried about. After almost a year and a half of waiting and researching and being on these boards every day, how am I going to feel when I don't have this to look forward to. Only a few more months of fun. I know my DH won't let me book on board. He wants to do San Antonio next year I think. :(

Do what I do - let the kids convince Dad for you! It's worked for me 10 years in a row!!!LOL

As a Texan I have to say that San Antonio is wonderful but I'm hard-pressed to imagine it competing with a Disney trip.

I have to drag the man anywhere, he hunts and fishes, and to him that is vacation. We have a place in the woods about 30 min. from our house. It's his paradise, but not really mine. Its okay, but I'm not into hunting and fishing and I get kind of board with no internet (no phone). But my kids, and choc. lab love it, so I'm stuck with 4 -wheeler riding instead of the Dis!
