cool thanks

Since I am cruising with dgs without my dh I will be at Palo's by myself. I have no problem with this but if someone would like to join me since the table will be for 2, then let me know.
When we did the Baltic, several DISers got together and did a Palo Brunch on one of the sea days - we had enough that we were able to reserve the private room. It was so fun and what a treat - I'd never been to Palo before because DH doesn't want to go. Are you planning to do Palo for dinner or something else? Do they have a tea?
I think I remembered reading that they've discontinued the tea. Just brunch and dinner now.
I had heard that too
I only went to Palo Tea once, on our 2008 EB PC repo cruise...
it was an interesting experience
We had a really huge DIS group on that sailing and during the planning a joke was started about the guys crashing the Wenches Palo Tea with a speedo parade...
Well they decided to follow through and the results were very funny![]()
We got our pre-cruise night in Barcelona

Sure hope the rest of our shore excursions are up soon. I am getting excited!!!
That's where we are staying pre and post cruise.
Where are you staying?
Renaissance
SO
Now I have to figure out how to get tickets for a good price to Sagrada Familia and how to get there from the hotel.I found a website--a ticket-tron--go figure
but do I want a headset?
or a guide?
no--I just want in the door and free reign to roam
And a way to get there and get back without getting lost.
I am not the most adventurous sort.

No DCL pre-cruise excursions.
The leaders of the post cruise excursions are on the ship.
They can lead excursions on disembarkation day because it is embarkation day and they are in Barcelona. But the day the ship is on the way back from Malta
for some odd reason
they are not in Barcelona.
Go figure

That's good to hear about the other shipsThere will be only one other large cruiseship in port with us in Dubrovnik (see http://www.portdubrovnik.hr/girica1.php ). So hopefully the town won't be overrun
Also it looks like while the other ship will get there about 2 1/2 hours ahead of us, they are leaving a few hours ahead of us as well.
I deleted the post because I was upset that I had double posted on the spread sheet but figured out how to fix it myself
YAY ME

A friend posted a website to me for buying tickets to Sagrada FamiliaRenaissance

We are planning to use the HOHO for both transportation and sightseeing in Barcelona and will buy our Sagrada Familia tickets ahead of time for The day after we arrive which will be the day before we sail.
Looking to keep us busy enough on the day we arrive to stay awake, but nothing really important scheduled so not to run the risk of plane delays causing stress. What is everyone planning to do on their arrival day? After a night flight and very little sleep not sure whether to start with important sites or less important sites.![]()

I think there is supposed to be a festival while we are there
A friend posted a website to me for buying tickets to Sagrada Familia
But it only allowed sales up to end of March

us too
I am just hoping to keep everyone awake on the first day and I think it was you (or someone else) that told me that scheduling anything anything the first day was risky as any plane delays could interfere
So HoHo bus for the first day and the Sagrada Familia, the Towers and the Gaudi Museum the next day (day before the cruise).
Maybe we'll see you on the bus

The next day (6/26) is when we will do most of our sightseeing...mostly Gaudi I think. Trying to talk the DH (Darren) into a segway tour![]()
As much as we would like to hang out with y'all in Barcelona, we will be saving y'all all a spot on the shipbut yes, our experience has been to not plan something for arrival day that has a specific time in case of delay or in case family members just need to rest. Our plan is to arrive, get situated with the hotel and hope we can get into our room right away. If so, we will rest a couple of hours, shower, etc., and the. Explore on foot near the hotel. We will hoho bus the next day and also see the sagrada familia, purchasing our tix ahead of time. We will have a day on Barcelona when we get back but will decide what to do while in BVN the first time.
