Went to a BBQ yesterday and decided to have everyone help me try to develop a slcaker slurpee. BIG PROBLEM...no rum!! But of course, I made up for it.

I've decided I have a new favorite drink. Blended vodka/lemon drop martinis! Whoo hoo! Very strong, very yummy!! I'm liking the lemon idea...rayjay let us know how your testing went.

I would be on the Magic right-now-next-year...sigh.

Yes, definitely needs something with lemon... do we all agree? Never tried lemoncello but.. might be a great substitute if slacker slurpees are not available at the ports... ha ha

I wonder if we could get the Magic to shoot fireworks off the end of the boat on the 4th... it will be weird to be away... we usually go away on the 5th! Hey, Boston people... can you smuggle in sparklers????

Hope you all enjoyed the 4th! Driving to San Francisco on Sat (looking at colleges ) so will write when we return.

On the Wonder in January, they HAD fireworks on Pirates night. I would imagine they'd do the same on the Magic next year, particularly on the 4th, considering how many Americanos will be on board....

By the way, just curious if any of you have any favorite crew members on board. We had a server a couple of years ago named Sasha Sasic who was GREAT! He's working at Palo now. We'll see him in September when we do the Eastern Caribbean.

And for my goofy idea of the day, if anybody wants a picture of their cabin door for the Med Cruise, let me know and I'll take one when we're on the ship in September. That probably IS goofy to most people, but I'd look at that door a thousand times if I hadn't been on the ship before!

I probably make 5 different door designs -ain't that like a woman, can't make up her mind. With every cruise I see more and more, cute decorations as well. You should have seen Halloween! 'Course not us

Thought I would update on the sold out categories for our cruise, in case anyone is on the fence about booking.

Cat 12, 8, 6, 4, and the suites are sold out.

Cat 11, 9, & 5 are on guarantee only
Cat 10 is down on Deck 1

Our ship is almost sold out.

what is "guarantee"?

"Guarantee only" means that you will get the Catagory you requested but no stateroom assigned until later. They are waiting to see what sells and what does'nt. A quaranteed reservation may get upgraded , which is what we are hoping for.

We wanted a CAT 8 but it was sold out. But we are hoping that some CAT 8 ressies are guarantee only. So, they might bump people up to make the less expensive cabins available. That is how they fill the ship. Many people will not book the higher priced rooms and skip the trip altogether so to avoid lost revenue, cruise lines do the guarantee and work it out near sailing time.

Slacker Slurpee for Scurvee Slackers, Crushed Ice & Well Chilled Lemoncello

Slacker Slurpee for Old Sea Dog Slackers, Same as above just add Rum (to taste)!

Slacker Slurpee for Captain Slacker, Same as above just add 151 Arghhhh!

Im not spongin for Rum It be Gold Im after (151 Gold that is)!

I be goin to see Davy Jones this Weekend & find out what type of Slacker Slurpee he be drinkin by gum! Arghhhh!

I don't know if this applies to any of you, but there are three of us couples who are Disney Vacation Club members, planning on meeting up at Paris Disneyland after the cruise next summer. Normally, you are able to book with points 11 months out, which means we would be able to book in early August.

One of our group talked to member services this morning and they said that Paris is not giving DVC availability on rooms except through November 9th.

Sounds like no telling when we'll be able to book for next July!

I called Member Services was told the same thing, I do not think that you can book a room through DLP even yet.
