Good morning fellow cruisers. Another week has gone by.
We now have only

weeks to go to the Fantasy. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Hello fellow Fantasy cruisers!!!!!! I wanted to add our names to the FE list - unfortunately I am not able to join the Facebook page bc we are surprising our three kids with the trip and my son is really good about trying to figure stuff out and trip us up but I booked this trip in November 2010 and refuse to succumb to it :)

169 days

Looking forward....

hi everyone! i guess it's time i make a formal intro. i've been lurking off and on since booking this cruise when the date opened (last january?). and i'm also on the fb pages. we've kept it hushed cuz my kids have no idea and i hope to keep it that way for awhile still.
i'm shannon and have cruised with some of you a few years ago on the EBPC cruise in 2008. my dh is mark. we are both 37 years old and it seems like we've been married forever. LOL!!! (highschool sweethearts-together for over 20 years.:lovestruc) we'll be cruising with our 4 rugrats...dustin-14yrs;lauryn-12yrs;nick-9yrs;and collin-almost 3yrs! this will be our 8th dcl cruise and can't wait for june to get here!!

Welcome Aboard :welcome:
I remember you Shannon from the EBPC cruise in 2008:thumbsup2
My DH and I are only traveling with my DD Kelly this time (15 at cruise time) as my DS 18 wants to stay home with friends to celebrate graduating HS.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again:cool1:

I seen a post on Cruise Critic about a Hotel and Shuttle to the Cruise Ship package. I called the Wingate by Wyndham hotel near the Orlando Airport and was able to get a special for 2 people to shuttle from Airport to Hotel, stay one night, shuttle service to the pier for both of us and shuttle service back to hotel or airport after the cruise. The cost was $210 per room.
Does anyone know of a better package like this? The Disney shuttle is $138 for the two people and then I have to still add the hotel stay for the night of the 22ed.

The only way I can think of to improve on that package is to rent a car and drive to the port, then you can stay at a cheaper priced hotel.

-Kay
I agree with Kay. That is a really good deal. The rental car has pros and cons-you have the freedom to come and go as you please with a rental car, but on the flip side it is nice to have someone else do the driving...Do you know what time that package deal gets you to the port?

Doesn't it feel real with the flights booked? LOVE It!
:thumbsup2:cloud9:

It still says that I am waiting a request response. Do you think if I make friends with someone that would help? Or could someone invite me to join?

Glad to see you got in:goodvibes I was going to friend you to do it but I see someone beat me to it.

Thought it was time to pop on here and introduce ourselves. We will be sailing with you all. We booked this cruise way back in Oct. 2010. After waiting for so long, I can't believe we have less than 6 months to sail date!

I am Kim. I'll be traveling with my DH Dan, DS Nicholas (14), DD Emily (12), DD Olivia (7) and DS Nathan (5). We live right outside of Houston, TX (about 30 miles from the Magic's new home in Galveston!) and after all this talk about airfare prices, I'm (sort of) happy to say that we'll be driving! This will be our 11th Disney cruise and the timing couldn't be better as Dan and I will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary on June 20! We were also on the EBPC cruise in August 2008 so I recognize many of the names on this thread! :)

We will be traveling with Shannon (wheelerkidz3) and her family and are planning to spend some time at Vero Beach and WDW after the cruise, thanks to our DVC points!

Looking forward to chatting with all of you over the next several months!
Kim
Welcome aboard :welcome:
Good to see another EBPC alum. It is going to be really hard to top that cruise though.
We're new DVC members and haven't made it to Vero Beach yet. Having fun trying out all the DVC resorts at WDW though:woohoo:

We will be at Bay Lake Towers too (or is that 3?). Our first time at BLT so we are looking forward it. No park tickets, so we can enjoy the resort. Only Friday night though. We are doing Disney transportation to the port on Saturday.
Yeah, we were surprised we were able to get a room there as I had heard they booked up fast. We are tentatively planning Magic Kingdom for Friday and hoping that a Friday night Dis meet will get planned so we can chat with as many Dis folks as possible prior to the cruise. It would be great if we can organize group transportation to the port (bus/van), but worse case scenario we'll settle for a rental car.

We will be staying at a vacation rental off site for Sat-Thursday night before the cruise. Thinking about moving to Cape Canaveral for the Friday night to visit Kennedy Space Center.

Any recommendations on hotels? We are 2A 2C and we prefer rooms where the kids don't have to share a bed.

-Kay
We stayed near the port twice, but it was many years ago. We had a great online deal for the Raddison for our first cruise and I forget the name of the place we stayed at for our second. You might have to settle for a cot in the room to get separate beds for the kids. Some places have blow up mattresses which is what we used for ours when we traveled.

Awesome. We're probably checking in on the 18th. 19th at the latest. Either of you have kids? We've got three DDs (10, 8, and 5).
Our DD Kelly will be 15 but she manages to have fun with her cousins who are all much younger than she is. Kelly is a big fan of anime, loves to read and plays the guitar and ukelele:goodvibes

Anyone else planning Remy?
Darren and I went on the Dream June 2011 and loved it.
Would be fun to share a table with other Dis folks:goodvibes

Kay- on every other cruise out of PC, wd have stayed at the Residence Inn. We had one room with 2 queen beds and the living room had a double sized couch pull out.
I hear ya about better if the kids don't have to sleep together.

I thought I seen that it left Orlando at 11:30 am but I just talked tothe Wingate transportation department and they said I can setup the time to leave anytime I would like. They have their own transportation and they can take us over and bring us back at a time we request.

In order to join FB site, do I need to let someone know ahead of time, or do I just request access to the site?

We haven't been on a Disney Cruise since 2006 and at that time we stayed at the Radisson, are there other hotels that have been built since then that are better to stay at? We are looikng forward to sailing with the sailing with the mouse again!!

If you already have a FB account, then you need to be 'Friends' with someone who's already in the FB page/list for this sailing. They can then add you. You can 'ask' to be added, but I don't know who the Mod of the group is and/or if they are monitering the FB page.

I would love to try Remy, but haven't wanted to go by myself. I figured there will be plenty of folks that I could tag along with on this cruise.

Sounds good:thumbsup2 If you know the times you want then book them asap because I'm guessing they have a lilited number of time slots available:confused3

I read on the main boards where they are not going to let anyone into the port until 11 am, which I'm guessing means long lines starting outside the port...if you don't mind arriving later then no big deal but I'm one of those that likes to be on the ship asap:confused3

Probably faster to get a fb friend to get you in. If you are not already fb friends with someone who has access then either send me a private message with your name so I can friend you and get you in or I can send you mine:goodvibes

I have not stayed at the port area in years, but I am pretty sure there are places that are cheaper than Radisson that are good choices...
Repeat the question on the fb page when you get in as I'm sure others there will know.

Cool:thumbsup2 You are welcome to join us :cool1:

Impressed with your score on that 100 food survey on facebook:thumbsup2
I think they are trying to keep the Remy menu mostly familiar to appeal to more people...but it will still be a great experience:woohoo:

They do not let you into the port until 11am. We found that out a few weeks ago. Not fun standing outside but at least it was not raining!

Does anyone have a 9 or 10 yo boy that wouldn't mind sharing a table at early dining?

The person I talked to said I can let them know when I check in. I am going to call as soon as I get my boarding call just to make sure.
