June 23rd 2012 - Commandeering the Disney Fantasy - Pirates back in the Caribbean

Just wondering if anyone has an idea how airline tickets are looking. its been a few years sense we have flown. are the current prices high or reasonable..

Hold onto your wallet. :scared1::scared1: Prices are definately risen since you last were in the air. To give you some perspective for our Oct 11 cruise we paid $1,250 for 4 from BWI to MCO. For several years at the same time of the year we got prices between $800 to $900. We fly SWA so we do not know what the prices will be for June for another few months but I am planning on at least $1,300 for us. The only way to get cheaper fares is to fly Mondays and Tuesdays. This doesn't work very well with Saturday to Saturday cruises. Good luck and I hope you get a low fare.

My fiancé and I will being sailing for our honeymoon!! We are so excited, and eager to see the new ship. Although I've been on numerous Disney cruises, my fiancé has never been on any cruise! We booked a category 6A, but have GTY status, so unsure of where yet.

Hi Amanda! I think there is another Amanda on this thread too and she is also going to be on her honeymoon if I remember correctly from her posts!

What a coincidence!

Anyway, congrats and welcome!

Hi everyone! I have done a very bad thing! I've been a bad dis girl and have not been following the thread in quite a while and now I'm so far behind I can't read 140 pages! :scared1:

Anyway, still here.... Still can't wait for the cruise!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Another update of our ship. 10 1/2 months to go :cool1::cool1:

I've started checking into flights. Depending on gas prices,it may be cheaper for us to fly out of Dallas again instead of OKCity.

Good morning fellow cruisers. Another week has gone by.
We now have only

weeks to go to the Fantasy. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I have resigned myself to the fact that it costs serious $$ to fly. I'll still pay it instead of spending hours & hours in a car. But I have changed my 1 way rule of no more than 3 hours to 5, before I'll fly;). It also helps that there are only 2 of us most of the time anymore.

I'll definitely have a free round trip on Southwest by then, so I'm not sweating it for now.

Isn't it funny how the main boards were just CRAMMED with updates, questions and pictures when the Dream was being built....and no one seems to care about the Fantasy? Granted, they're going to be basically identical, but still.....:confused3

and none of those annoying fees:cool1:

And yes, you really don't hear too much about the Fantasy or maybe I just don't visit the main board too often

We are wondering the same thing about airfare. Last DCL we paid BWI to MCO $150 pp. We went this year during Spring Break and flights were absurd $500 pp so we drove. It really wasn't that bad but this time all 3 kids are going and not sure what to do. Will be checking to see when the dates are released and will be crossing my fingers.

Iv'e been pricing from Dallas and they're running $270 each, roundtrip.

The best Air price Ive found from Buffalo is $466 pp with a stop over in charlotte round trip.

I saw USAIR fares from PHL to MCO are $157 pp each way. I usually fly SWA so I will have to wait another 2 months to know my pain. :scared1: I may fly a few days early where it was $98 pp on the way down. Well see. Good luck.

Hello, hello all......since we booked this cruise last fall, and it looks like we are going to keep it, I thought it was time to join this merry group of Disers. We just got off a B2B Dream cruise, and we loved it.

The four us include me, my DH, DS (18) and DD (17) at this point.

So permission to come aboard.......

Permission granted! :)

Hi there! Glad to hear that you all had fun on the Dream. Did ya get to ride the Aquaduck? That is what my daughter is most excited about!

I am the Keeper of the FE list (sort of like the Keeper of the Keys at Hogwarts, only much shorter, much less hairy and much less cool than Hagrid) so if you all are interested, here is a link to the form!

(For anyone else reading this and curious, we are up to 20 families.)

Anyway, I have my husband and daughter (10 when we sail), and our wee little boy who will be three when we sail. It will be our sixth cruise.

We look forward to getting to know you!
