June 23, 2014 Wonder to Alaska

Sent in my request to join! Yay! I have no idea why it wouldn't show for me. It just kept sending me to web searches, which referred me back here!:lmao:

Thanks for posting the link!:thumbsup2

So excited to see more people that are joining the group. The more the merrier! Here is a link to the Facebook group.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/661758607196532/

I changed it to a closed group as requested.

Thanks for making it closed. It's one those little things where I'm not sure the whole world should be able to see that we are all on vacation.... and figured out where we live. Feel like it takes a little more work on here where a screen name doesn't mean as much... lol

Anyway - I sent a request to join last night. Hopefully, you are able to see it and add me.

Just for the record 144 days 22 Hours and 5 minutes (give or take a few seconds....) till we board!

Thanks,

I don't see the request. Can you PM me your name and i'll add you to the group.

Can't wait!

PM Sent - here and on FB. Thanks - Getting very exited! This is my DW's dream trip! Of course she'll come up with a new one once this is off the bucket list!

We would like to join the FE group.

There are 3 of us: DH Greg, DS Michael, and me, Lisa!

Thanks!

Also for anyone new or just trying to figure things out. Here is a thread that covers Alaska Excursions with reviews. Hope this helps you plan a great trip.

I agree… this thread has been so helpful in whittling down our choices!!

BTW, we just cancelled our reservation with Island Wings for 12pm if anyone is interested. I know they sell out nearly every day, so wanted to let you all know first in case there are other ships in port on June 28th. We decided to switch to the Deadliest Catch tour. We thought the boys would have a lot more fun on that excursion. It is also highly rated, so a win-win. I had visions of us being in the airplane for >1 hour and they would be rolling their eyes and asking when we would be returning to the ship!

I really cannot believe this cruise is < 6 months away! WOOT! :goodvibes

I sent a request to join the group on facebook. I am coordinating the FE exchange for this trip

Glad to see this board getting more active. I am excited and nervous for this cruise. We have never been on a cruise and figuring out flights and hotels is becoming a bit overwhelming.

I too join the Facebook page :)

So excited that we will dock back in Vancouver the day before Canada Day. We are staying a few days after the cruise to join in the festivities which will give us something to look forward to when the cruise ends. For those who don't know what this is, it is the day Canadians celebrate their independence. We were in Victoria (Vancouver Island) about 10 years ago on Canada Day and we viewed the spectacular fireworks at Butchart Gardens. That day is etched in my memory as that was one of the best vacations our family has experienced.

The fireworks in Vancouver are in the harbor. Here is a quick link:

There are activities all day and then the fireworks begin at 10:30 p.m.

Just wanted to share so you can make plans to stay if you have the opportunity.

I am also looking forward to this, but I'm still trying to figure out the ferry system for getting to and from Victoria. By the way, mwmom, have you joined our facebook group?

No, I haven't joined the FB page yet, but I will.

Hope you make it to Victoria. It is truly a spectacular city!

We officially paid off this cruise last week and can make excursion reservations next weekend. So, I am now confident to say . . .

party: We're cruising with y'all!!! party:

Me (Jennifer) 41, Bill (DH) celebrating his 45th birthday onboard (June 25th), Will (14), Emily (11) & Cole (8). This will be our 7th Disney cruise. :sail:

A little about us . . .

We live near Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. (It's not just a screen name.)
We love anything and everything associated with Disney & Disney Pixar.
(parks, cruise line, movies, Walt's history, Disney Dooney & Bourke & Vera Bradley bags, runDisney, etc ... )
We are Disney Vacation Club Members (our home resort is AKV-Kidani Village) and WDW Annual Passholders.
So, even though we live in Texas, we still try and get to WDW at least 2-3 times a year. For a "change", we did head west this past December for an amazing Disneyland/LEGOLAND vacation.

This will be our 7th Disney cruise. We've cruised on all her ships and after being on the newer/larger ships, I can't wait to get back on one of the older/smaller ships. We've never been to Alaska. It's always been on my "bucket list". After our Hurricane Sandy cruise, we got a really, really good "I'm sorry we almost killed you" discount to cruise again with DCL. With Alaska being one of their more expensive itineraries, it was like a sign to finally cruise to Alaska. So, we here we are!

I am the uber-planner of our family. So yes, I already have an itinerary planned and my spreadsheet ready when calling DCL next weekend. LOL! I am in the process of making our stateroom door signs. I can't believe it has taken me this long to search out this thread. I think I was trying to get through our Disneyland vacation and the holidays. Now that things have "calmed down", I've been putting more energy into this trip.

Welcome aboard!!! Don't forget to check out our Facebook group and meet everyone!

Hi my name is Lainie and going on my first Disney cruise with my family. :yay: We are from McKinney Texas. DH John, DD Sydney 11 and DS. Noah 9. My best friend Patrice and her family is joining us from Dallas Texas. We are former Disney Castmember from the Disney Store years ago. We have been to WDW several times. Patrice has been too many times to count at WDW and DL. We are excited to do the FE exchange.
