June 22 Magic (Western)

Hey, Roberta--
sounds like we will be hanging around the airport a couple hours longer than you. You'll be halfway home by the time our USAirways flight departs at 1:50. Fortunately, we still get home pretty early, about 4:30. We still don't know if Howard will be driving his mom back to Pittsburgh that Sunday. I am sure he will be exhausted for work on Monday.
Good to know about carrying the bottles back. Guess we will need to be sure we ask for carrier boxes. Was hoping to carry home the tortuga rum cakes in my carry on (just in case I got so depressed about the end of vacation that I would NEED fortification :D ), but I guess I will pack those rum cakes with all the rest of the loot. I never remember the limits for customs. Will have to look that up, just in case there is a limit on . . . well, you can probably guess

My brother asked us to bring back rum cakes for him too and not wanting to take up too much room in the luggage-I looked on the internet and found the web site for the Tortuga rum cakes. The web site address is tortugarums.com and they will ship rum cakes, rum, and hot sauces for you. I do not know how much they usually cost but shipping is included and it will be easier to ship them home then lug them in the suitcase but maybe they charge you too much, if anyone knows let me know.

Thanks!
Kristina

Hi, Kristina--
When we went, there was a kiosk in the middle of a plaza where you could pick out the variety you wanted for a 6 or 8-pack of small (maybe 8 oz) cakes. There were so many flavors that I cannot even remember all of them, but I think I remember the chocolate was to die for. :D I checked out the website and it looks like they don't have that sampler pack. It didn't take up much room in our suitcase, though.

When I arrived home today our cruise documents had arrived!!! Now I know it can't be very long, June 22nd will be here in no time!

Our DS is 16 and our DD is 7.

Howard & Cam.
We have a later flight coming home also 4:30. Thought we might want to cruise over to Downtown Disney before heading home or have a nice lunch out. With the short flight home we will still be home before dark. It is about a 2 1/2 drive from Nashville back to Knoxville.
Can't believe both boys are out of school already. Looking forward to the long weekend starting tomorrow. I am off until Wed so maybe I will get more cruise shopping done.

Yvonne

O.K., enough talk about going home after the cruise, we haven't even left yet!! Waiting for the long weekend too, maybe some sunshine and Coronas and a little shopping too at the outlets here in CNY. Anyway, keep the posting going and it is great to talk to everyone......

Just checked out Mr. Sancho's! It looks great. If no one has a better suggestion, I'm taking my family there! Missed out on the excursions that we wanted and now I'm feeling that it might be better that way.

;)

As of today, Louie's Backyard will be taking phone reservations for lunch and dinner while the Magic is docked in beautiful Key West. We will be calling to make dinner reservatons. They will accept them 30 days in advance. I have heard a lot of great things about Louie's Backyard, history, atmosphere, food, views, etc. They have a website you can check out if you are interested...

Still waiting for the docs to arrive, it might be a while..... unfortunately.

The thought of the cruise and meeting everyone and seeing our great friends from the May '01 Magic sustain us.

Have a wonderful day and holiday weekend.

Howard

Hi, Yvonne!
Your plans for that saturday sound great. We are going to take DCL transfer back to the airport and will probably sleep in chairs there :) We don't have a rental car for that day and our flight is early enough that it makes sense for us to go to the airport and hang out. That is usually the time I spend checking work voicemail and making notes of priorities for back to work. We usually also check in with the kids and other family to let them know we are back on terra firma and ready to head home. Fortunately, the orlando airport has some fun shopping, including a disney store! As if I would not have had enough disney by then. Never enough. Certainly never too much!

We booked filghts through disney and so we will also be flying out on that day, probably early. I cannot believe that it is less than a month and we still don't have any doc's! I am getting so mad!!!!! Counting down the days...

Does anyone booked through DU have their documents? I see several cruises after ours have been receiving theirs.

Hi BethA
We haven't been able to do the "Documents Dance" yet either. Maybe the FedEx guy can't find PA!! Cam and Howard in DE haven't seen theirs yet either. It would make sense that DCL would print all the docs for one cruise before they start on another! Is your patience starting to wear thin too??
Have a great holiday weekend....maybe we'll have something else to celebrate besides Memorial Day by Tuesday!

Beth

Hey guys, hope all is well with everyone on the June 22 cruise. Just winding down work today and looking forward to a 3 day weekend. Shopping and Sunning that will be me this weekend!! Hope everyone has a great one!!

I am getting more nervous by the day!! Why print documents for 2 or 3 cruises after ours when June 22 docs aren't all printed. You wonder the reasoning--we booked close to a year ago. I was sooo disappointed this morning--looked out and saw the Fed Ex truck--only to have it be a package for our neighbors. I guess I have to wait til next week. Beth

Hey, everyone--Did you see that all the navigators are now available on castawayclub.com ? :) I have been having such a great time compiling a spreadsheet type of schedule of when stuff is happening that we are interested in. Figured that will make it easier when I finally get to the spa and palos to make reservations.
Still no fed ex man in DE. Actually, that is not true. I know he has been here because he keeps bringing me all sorts of icky legal stuff! I think my staff hides him from me so I dont' take him down to the ground and tickle him till he promises to TRACK DOWN OUR DOCS!!! I'm doing okay, though. Howard made reservations for dinner at louie's backyard, which we have been unable to do until now--so, we know it is getting close!
How're the packing lists, guys? Oh, BTW, does anyone keep doing this: exactly four weeks from today, we will be at the Radisson, checked in, with shuttle reservations made, changing into bathing suits, etc. etc. . . . ? Somehow, my brain automatically does that now!:D

Beth -

Hang in there... we're in the same "boat" as you..... Ba-dum-pa!

No Fed-X man anywhere in sight with the paperwork we want. Keep us posted on the Document search and the inevitable "Document Happy Dance."

Have a great weekend!

Hi,

We are leaving friday am as soon as I can get every one out of bed. I am hoping to be there by three. Do you know how early we can check in? Most hotels it's about three. I can't believe it is four weeks from today. It is going so fast.

Take care and have a great week end.

Hi, Roberta!
Our flight gets in at 8:40 a.m. We are going to pick up our car and luggage and drive to clermont to visit some friends and have brunch. we anticipate getting to cape canaveral around 1, but we want to stop for beverages to take on board and to say hi to Shirley at the Perfect Gift. I'd love to be at the hotel and settled in by 2 or 2:30. What is their official check-in time? I heard 3, but know rooms are often ready earlier than the official times. for example, when we got off the magic last june, we were able to go right over and check in and I bet it wasn't even 9:30 a.m.

Should we plan the official DIS meet at a certain time at the hotel pool? Maybe 7 or so, after everyone has arrived, settled in, and had dinner? I know many of us will be poolside all day.
