June 2014 Discount Watch

We will be splitting our stay between the Poly and POR June 17-26. Every time we go we usually either get free dining or save on the room. Kinda hoping it will be the same this year!!

Okay, so I don't know where I want to stay! Do the Values have refrigerators now?

Do I have to call in to get the discount?

I do not believe values have refrigerators unless you are staying in a family suite but I may be wrong. As far as discounts go you can always call and see if you have a pin or you can wait until special offers are released to the general public for the dates you are traveling.

I can get the Visa offer out today, that's why I'm trying to decide what to do. ASMU is cheapest, AoA LM would be fun but possibly too far away from the main building?, we like CBR and POR but have been there before, DD12 wants a POR royal room if they are available...I wanted to try POFQ but it's only 5%...or we could even go to WL for a fairly reasonable price. I like the moderates' bus stops and pools, but the values are a pretty good deal with the discount.

So therein lies my dilemma.

I just called and booked a split stay with the Visa discount. I did the math ahead of time, and the amounts I was quoted were within a few pennies of what I calculated, so it worked out nicely.

I booked a package with a Garden view room at Beach Club for 6/6-6/8, with 5 day base tickets. The 5th day on the base ticket was free, and the room was a 30% discount. Savings were $304.70.

I also booked 7 nights in a Woods view room at Wilderness Lodge, with a 30% room-only discount. Savings were $850.50.

Total savings for the 9 night split stay, including 5 day tickets, are $1,155.20! Discounted cost is $3,229.14.

I heard AoA LM was excluded.

We stayed in a LM room at AOA for one night before moving to the BC this summer. It is definitely a LONG walk to the main building- my feet and legs were killing me and we hadn't even been to the parks yet! The grounds and main building were beautiful though and I'm glad we got to experience it :)

Do you have to reserve the room on your Disney Visa just to get it or can you use something else and still get the same offer?

You have to put a payment on the Disney Visa card. For me it was a minimum of $200.

I just called and book an AOA family suite for June 7-16 @ 15% off, except for the last night, and got 7 day park hopper tickets, just had to pay for 6 and got one day for free, and saved $653!

True. I called first thing this morning….no LM rooms are discounted, but the suites are.

Well then that narrows it down! I also live chatted on the WDW site and was told that an ASMu room would have a mini fridge in June. I'm leaning toward that since we have already stayed at CBR and POR. Will check with DH after he gets off work.

Thanks to all the folks of this thread, otherwise I totally would have missed this discount! It's not posted ANYWHERE yet.

I saved about $300 at POR! Woot! They are out of standard room discounts BTW so that is off Garden View which is about $14 more than a standard so either way!

Thank you all! :flower3:

Yes you have to book the room with a Disney Visa in order to get the discount right now. But the same offer will open to the general public on January 6th. So if you don't have a Disney Visa card you have to wait until then to book your trip.

We stay on top of things here. :thumbsup2

If I already have a resort/package reservation for the Coronado, can I call and get this Visa Discount? If so, how?

Called my TA and she is going to call and see what I can get. We are currently booked at AoA 6/8-15 with a 7 day park hopper and DDP.:firefight

An hour later:
TA just called back....$530 savings.

Yes, just call in and tell them you'd like the Disney Visa discount applied to your reservation. You will have to then use the Disney Visa card to pay for part of it, for me it was $200 (which was the minimum) that was charged.
