June 2014 Discount Watch

Discounts should be coming out in Jan. Maybe end of December for Disney Visa card holders. That is what I have been reading on this board. Discounts will probably be similar to the pins that are floating around. Most likely a room only discount. So keep your eyes and ears open in the next couple of weeks.

This is the only PIN I've seen on the Dis:

"Save Up to 35%
on stays at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels!
For stays most nights 1/3–3/5/14, 3/14–3/22/14, 3/30–4/12/14, 4/21–5/31/14 and 8/17–9/27/14."

It excludes June and July completely. Are there any others out there?

That's the one. Didn't know about the June July exemptions. My dates are in May so I am hoping that something like this comes out for me.

I booked airfare last night (with SW points, so subject to change if I need to) for June 3-10. If historical discounts are the same this year, should see a room discount put out in the next 3 weeks. I am going to wait till then or later to book room.

My dates allow for 6 snow days. So far so good this winter. But if our basketball boys go to State, we could have up to 3 days to make up for that too. Hopefully if I book a room with discount I will be able to change it if needed. I have this hassle every year because I like to go on vacation just as soon as we can while some kids are still in school!

Boards have been a real source of Disney excitement & magic for our past trips. Unfortunately this year they seem to serve as a place for venting about MB and FP+ by weary travelers...

I am hoping to see some magic from Disney soon. To date, the only attention I receive is from Universal who is trying to sway our vacation budget and will announce the timeline for Harry Potter expansion in late January. Come on Disney, my kids like the Hogwarts Express but I prefer teacups...

PINS are random discount codes that are sent out to random, lucky people. Sometimes they come in your email...sometimes they come snail mail. Sometimes you have them attached to your name and for some unknown reason you never get a notification that you have one. No one knows who, when or why certain people received them - Sometimes it is a person who has been once, 10 years ago - sometimes it is to a person who already has a trip booked. It is definitely worth having your TA call and see if you might have one attached to you or someone in your traveling party. Good luck!

Last night we called about a pin. Lady said there are no FD out, but we had a RO pin for our June dates. So, went through the process, and lady gave us a number... RACK RATE. Told her... she apologized and said the pin DID NOT work for our dates... UGH... 45 minutes of my life... GONE.
