Anyone know why if I use the VISA code for Alamo with no INSIDERS info it comes out a tad less than when I put my INSIDERS number and name in?? EDIT, I see it. using INSIDERS costs an extra $7.50 flat fee for Frequent Travel Surcharge?????

You put in the Frequent Flyer number when you made your profile. It will automatically add that surcharge anytime you rent via the Insider's log in unless you remove it.

I have $386.70 all-in using VISA code and AD2338FDF coupon. Anyone best that??? I see Costco shaves $$ off of that to teh tune of about $25 more, but I have no Costco near me, have never been in one, and am not a member. And I read in this thread that someone was askd for Costco card as proof recently....


Is a costco membership less than $25?


edit: aPPLIED COUPON ad2359fdf and that shaved $5 more off my total.

Costco annual membership is 55.00, found this on the Costco site.

Got a Full Size Van (12 or 16 passenger I believe!) for $93 on Friday through car rental savers from Alamo. That's cheaper than any other option I've seen for mid-June (out of Sanford). So what if we look something like the Grizwald's rolling up in our passenger van for that price! Even with the price of gas added in, its still cheaper than a smaller vehicle for the 5 of us.

It will probably be a 15 pax. van, we don't have 12s. Keep in mind, you cannot remove the seats and they do not fold, they are stationary. I would think a 7 pax. van would be less expensive. The BIG vans eat gas like candy and they have HUGE tanks. What are your dates?

gmeh1.. I had to do two separate reservations to get a better deal with Alamo. I have a car pick up sfb drop off mco 6/8-6/9. Then pick up next day mco drop off sfb 6/9- 6/23. Is is possible to merge reservations to avoid having to go pick up car at MCO and still keep same price?

You got me on that one!!! I really don't have an answer to that one as I do not work in reservations. You can, however, call Alamo and speak to a Customer Service person who will be able to assist you on this one. Sorry I could not help you.

So, I just booked this yesterday. Started playing today and the same codes at Alamo that I booked with for $386 for Mini Van yesterday pulls up a rate over $600 today!! Wow,

I will be renting a car in June for the first time ever and I am nervous. I am renting from Alamo. If I go to the counter to add an additional driver and fill out paperwork there, is there anything else I need to do before leaving the airport?? Check in at the exit booth?? I know I am making this harder than it really is.

After you get the keys and lane number, you go to car and make sure it has no dings or dents. if so, report this to employees.

then you will drive out. there's an employee at the exit gate which checks your paper work , makes sure you're not stealing the car. LOL

thanks everyone for posting the codes for alamo! So far I have a full sized suv for a total of $327 for 12 days, june 8-20. The max i wanted to spend on a rental car was 350 for our dates, so im happy with that! but i would love to try to get it for even cheaper

Through Costco a midsize suv is $242, standard suv & minivan $298 inc taxes.

Last week I was able to book a standard car for 115.73 Including taxes June 22- July 1. I used Costco code 7015309 coupon AA AD2359FDF. I was happy to get this and hope it comes down. Now they are well over 400.00. If not I am pleased with this. I check daily but they have been running high again. My husband ended up getting a minivan this past week for 159.73. It started at 250.00. Guess they can change daily.

ostco rate minus coupon AD2359FDF and now $235 all in!! WOOT! Too bad I am not Costco member! I can add $55 membership fee and still be way less than my orginals. No costco near me, though. Might have to sign up online, or risk renting without a membership card to Costco?

I was just looking again and (at least for my dates) the United and Visa IDs are giving the same rates so you may want to look into that if you don't want to go the Costco route.

Dollar city deals for my dates come out to 306 with fees. I am at about 240 with alamo with visa or southwest code plus -$35 american airlines coupon. June 14-24.

I can find those great minivan rates for your dates of 6/14-6/24 but unfortunately not for mine of 6/16-6/26. Is there something going on that makes that offset two days so critical in pricing?
