My Fiance and I are planning our Honeymoon for June 8-19. I've never been in June. Will this be a super busy time? Can I expect to get a code on a Moderate Resort? Previously I've stayed at POR and paid approx $144/night.... can I expect this next year?

Thanks for all the help in advance!

June is very, very busy and hot! don'yt know about the codes, but i have been in June once and everything seems to be higher then.
good luck!

We always go in June and haven't found a code yet. Our vacations start the last couple of days in May through the first full week of June. The only "code" I have gotten is the free ticket upgrades.

hi,
where do you live in Louisiana? Do you drive or fly to Disney?

I'd be interested to know what the crowds and prices are like for the first week of June too. We went in feb which was great, but it doesn't look like we are going to be able to do that again this time. I am probably dreaming about being able to go in June 2009 as it is. TIA!

We live in West Monroe and we always drive. We usually leave at 5:30 or 6:00 p.m. on a Wednesday and then drive until at least 11:00 or 12:00 p.m. The next morning, we head back out around 8:00 a.m. or so. Depending on the weather, it takes between 14 and 16 hours. We know that we can't really check in until 3:00 p.m., so we don't get in a real big hurry.

Well, I may be able to help you out. The first weekend in June is Gay Days and there are some big crowds associated with that. I usually get the schedule and just avoid the park they are in so that I miss the crowds. Most of the crowds associated with Gay Days are in the Magic Kingdom. I definitely wouldn't let this disway you from traveling during that time period.

The wait times for the headliners will be about an hour or more by late morning, mid-afternoon. Of course, the newer attractions have long wait times no matter what time of the day it is. Be sure to make good use of the Fastpass system and you'll be fine.

Make plans to eat at semi-off times. We aren't breakfast eaters so we just snack in the room while getting ready. Then, we eat a early lunch around 11:00 a.m. or so. We stop for breaks by mid-afternoon and then have a dinner around 7:30 or later. Sit-down meals take an hour or a little more so we schedule our ADRs for 7:30 or so and it still allows us to see the night time entertainment.

The temperatures for June are high 80's to low 90s which is nothing for us Louisiana residents. Heck, it's in the high 90s by May and the humidity is the pits here! I would suggest you take along a small misting fan. Our local Wal Mart has a small fan that's about the size of a cassette tape. It has a clip on the end so it's easy to clip onto your belt and keep on walking. Disney will also have fans set up along the waiting lines and that'll help keep you cool.

You should also be prepared for rain nearly every day. Normally, you'll just see a short shower but sometimes it'll rain pretty heavy for a hour or so. Just about everything will continue operating with a few exceptions like Test Track, Dumbo, Astro Orbitor.....anything outside. The crowds seem to clear out a bit when it rains. We don't let it stop us though. We just put on our ponchos and keep on going.

Relative to ponchos, I do have a couple of tips. First of all, bring along large gallon size ziplock bags and have one for each person in your group. Write their names on the bag. When you purchase the ponchos (or have those you brought from home), you can simply put the ponchos into the ziplock bags after you're done with them. Like I said, sometimes the showers are really short but they also can come at any time. If you have your ponchos labeled, it's easier and quicker to pull them out and put them on.

Second, all of the Disney ponchos look the same so you'll look out and see a sea of the same looking people. Take along a Sharpie pin and write your last name along the back shoulder area of the poncho. Think football jersey. This helps keep up with your group in a crowd.

Third, if you have a stroller, I would suggest you bring along several of the cheap throw-away ponchos you will find in the camping section. Most of the stroller parking is uncovered. Tie the hat part of the poncho into a knot and drape the rest over the stroller. This is a great way to keep the stroller from getting all wet while you are in an attraction.

Let me know if you have more June questions and I'll try to help.

we went in June 2006....it was very , very crowded and hot. that was our first and only trip during the summer, we usually go in Feb., we went Thanksgiving week last year, very crowded, in 2000 we went the week before Thanksgiving, not crowded at all, i think that would be the best time to go if we wouldn't have to take the kids out of school. But Feb. wasn't bad either, we are going again Feb. 2009 during Mardi Gras week.

Have your joined the WDW Louisiana Lovers thread? I keep an updated list on where everybody is from, where they are staying and when they are traveling. Hope you'll check it out.

We are also planning on going June 7-11 for our honeymoon! From the sounds of things it doesnt sound like a good time?!

We are going June 1-8 (maybe May 31-June 8) for our honeymoon.

We're just planning on getting to the parks at rope drop and then riding all the rides we want by noon or so and then relaxing the rest of the afternoon.

I'm looking forward to going for our honeymoon, but not so much in June (we're going to start going annually every Jan).

Just wondering if you had checked the events for that week?!

No. I just know Gay Days is during that week and I figure Star Wars Weekend is around then as well.

We love going in June. We find the crowds manageable and are going back next year June 10-17. One year we were there it rained everyday, the next year it only rained twice. Make good use of fastpass is my best advice!

yea I heard that rain is a BIG problem in June. I hope it doesnt rain everyday of our honeymoon!
