June 18, 2011 - 11 Night Mediterranean Sailing from Barcelona

DH is all packed up. He was able to fit everything in one bag and keep it under 50 pounds. Me, on the other hand, has not packed a single thing. I've been working on finishing up FE gifts and I still need to iron a bunch of stuff before I roll it up and put it in cubes. I can't wait for the cruise, but I'm loosing time to finish up.

I probably won't finish my packing and my son's, and yes he is 19 but he will just throw clothes in a bag if I don't do it, until the nite before we leave.

Can't wait. Can't wait.

I was aiming for one bag and one carryon per person but wondering if I can get away with less.
We are going to Paris after the cruise but shoudl be able to do laundry twice....its all that formal wear...

I am packed, DS is packed. DH and DD like to pack for themselves so they are on their own. I will just keep bugging them to get it done until it is done

We have one checked suitcase each and just one carry on for all of us. The carry on will have a few small guide books, blankets for the kids, laptop, chargers needed for the electronics, snacks, gum, etc. DD and I will have a handbag

My bag weighed in at 47 lbs, have most of the toiletries in my bag. DS weighed in at 40 lbs with some toiletries in it. I think I am going to take a few things out to bring that down another 5lbs each. Need room for souvenirs. Not that we are planning on buying a ton but don't want to be stuck with overweight luggage on the way home.

Planned on taking outfits for 6 days and do laundry half way through. If I take less I may have to do laundry twice but the ship laundry is usually full and with a lot of port days it may prove harder to do. what to do, what to do?

I am only taking one black dress and some dressy shirts / slacks for dinner. Not going all out this year on formal wear. DH will probably pack a suit. DS has nice slacks and a golf shirt. DD will have a nice dress.

jns, I believe that jmathias canceled their cruise. I remember reading that way up in the thread. You may want to delete them from the list -especially if you haven't seen anything from them in awhile.

This was posted in February. So we're 19 rooms...

That's my MIL (Beatrice) and my DSD (Sarah). Sarah is 24 and Beatrice might kill me if I tell you her age .

I don't reacall ever hearing a name, but if you just keep walking past the first one a bit you can't miss it. The beach area or sand area, just starts to get a lot bigger. On the first beach there are a lot of rocks and not much sand area.

Is this the one with the big stone building, do you know? It looked sort of like a mission to me, but if I remember right, it was an Army building? Or is that the first beach? I don't remember if we saw another one. Or does anyone have a picture they can post?

Yippee, I logged in just now to see the gift list for the cruise (limited options for Father's Day, but there's always beer!), and happened to snag a Palo brunch spot that I swear hasn't been available in the 70 days I've been checking! Yippee!! Others might want to check, there were 2-3 other slots available about 30 minutes ago.

Flew in to London today for our first few days. Hate those trans-Atlantic flights, but it went without incident. Getting over jetlag and will spend a few days relaxing and visiting our favorites here before heading over to Barcelona on Friday morning. See everyone soon!

If you are arriving the day before, why worry? We are Atlanta to Barcelona arriving Fri morning...I fugure we have a whole day to ensure against weather snafus...

I wanted to make sure I got the list before we leave. Also, what are people thinking as far as bringing a nice camera on vacation over there? I am worried it will get stolen. I am trying to decide if we should just take our pocket camera.

We get to Atlanta around 1:30 that day. I guess we will sit around the airport for a couple of hours. Better than not making it. We are flying out of Charlotte. Hopefully any storms won't prevent us from getting there.

Just what you want to happen before you leave on a huge, waiting all year vacation. I get home from work today and my DS had a fever of 102.4. He never gets sick.

Still haven't packed. UGHHH.

Anyone else flying out from Atlanta Thursday night at 10:00pm with a layover in Amsterdam before going on to Barcelona?
